So, most of the staff was very nice. No issues from them. Until 9:30 at night. I am waiting for a door dash order. "SLAM SLAM SLAM" My wife and I jump up and answer the door.....
No one. Thought It was the police or maybe doordasher. Nope. Called the front desk. They let me know security has cameras and is checking in on it. I stated "I would like to know what is going on if you have cameras and find out."
10 minutes later. I get a call, my doordasher is at the front desk. Waiting for me, because the hotel didn't state they didn't let Dasher deliver to the door. Head down, apologized and stated " I didn't know you couldn't come to my room to drop it off, my bad, they didn't tell me." The Dasher says " I have stayed at this location a 100 times, never been told about it either."
5 minutes later in my room. The security knocked on my door. The 'BTW 19 YEAR OLD! I asked his age' security guard states. "We found out who knocked on your door." I say "Who was it and, I hope you asked them to leave if they believe it's ok to harass guests."
The 19 year old security guard states "We talked to the parents of the two teenager's who were beating on your door, we didn't ask them to be removed, because we don't believe we should punish adults for the issues there kids cause."
I am stunned...... Kinda blown away. I say "What part of the agreement I signed included being harassed by multiple teenagers after paying 400$ for a single night?"
He goes on to try and keep defending the kids. I just say "can I talk to the manager, I just want a refund and will leave right away for it if you aren't going to prove me with a resolution and state you can keep them from my room."
Manager comes. Says they can't do anything, until I say I will just charge it back, you have broken the own agreement I signed.
He leaves, 10 minutes later. He comes back. His own words after I already stated to his employee and him I would gladly leave right away for a full refund he states. "I can only do a half refund."
At this point a person come out of the room next to mine. And asked what is going on. I explain the situation, she states she heard it earlier as well and the kids and parents should be thrown out.......
The head of security cried and asked me to leave immediately, i stated "not without a full refund."
Which he then finally after I already told him multiple times I am packed and me and my wife want to just leave, says this. "YOU CAN HAVE A FULL REFUND IF YOU LEAVE NOW" Almost crying.
Thankfully that's all that happened, got out and left. Foods fine, most the employees are fine, just not the "security" "manager" "owner" I mean he kept just coming up with excuses for me paying 400$ to be harassed at almost 10pm....
Just avoid this place as a hotel. Visit it for the park, but remember, if a parent lets there kids harass you, they need to do it 3 times more before their asked to leave. Zehander's is like baseball apparently 3 strikes before you are out. Enjoy.
Also the picture is from the band you have to wear for most the activities at this location. I wore it for 3 hours and got a rash and blistering with no allergies. I have been tested for all types...
Read moreOur family of 5 visited recently for Spring Break. We initially booked a stay from Wednesday-Friday and had an absolutely wonderful time. We decided to extend our stay by one night (staying Friday night) and were accommodated in a comparable room after a slight miscommunication.
That Friday night I attended the movie in the main lobby with all 3 of my kiddos. They had chairs, a couch and various bean bags provided for seating.
My daughter had sat in a chair and was covering up holding a bean bag under her chin/across her body and I thought nothing of it.
When we got back to our room about half way through the movie, my daughter started crying and complaining that under her chin and the tops of her legs were not burning but hurting. They immediately began turning dark red and she was in a lot of pain.
I contacted the front desk and let them know that she was clearly having a reaction (which she has never had to anything before) to something from the bean bag. When I asked how often they cleaned them I was told every 3 months or so. Which seems just absolutely insane for something that it repeatedly used every night.
I was told someone would come take an incident report from me at my room, and the gentleman that came started by saying "I don't know why they sent me, I don't even work on this side" which didn't exactly give me much faith in the whole situation. He then instructed me I could walk down and get my daughter an ice pack from the front desk (it was 11pm and I had 2 sleeping kids and 1 in pain...I would think he would bring it to me but I guess that wasn't his job either)
Thankfully my daughter eventually fell asleep and woke up with a lot less pain.
There was one Manager who did go above and beyond to make things right for us and make up for the lack of compassion that I felt and assured me that she would be passing our issues along to higher management, so we shall see on that.
The bean bags were pulled on the subsequent nights we were there, but I would be cautious no matter what.
Overall as our first time we were impressed with the Waterpark, it was kept SO clean I couldn't believe it. The lifeguards were all friendly and helpful with little ones.
The food was all pretty tasty and reasonably priced considering your at a waterpark. The kid tacos with chips and queso were delicious and a great deal. My kids raved for the elf breadsticks as well.
If you haven't been, I definitely recommend giving it a go, I don't think you'll be...
Read moreWorst experience ever. Do Not Recommend. Booked room w/balcony online. Added on a bday bag and pizza pkg. Was given a price and paid it prior to arrival. Arrived on day of right at check in and the wait line was out the door. My check in went smoothly however a lady came up to the desk and asked a worker for a new wrist band as the one she had on was too tight. The worker was irritated as I could tell with how he rolled his eyes and heaved his chest. We get to the room and overall it looked clean other than the wad of hair and some other debris on the restroom floor … gross. The online pics of room with a balcony were deceiving as our only view was into someone else’s room. We had to keep our shade pulled the entire time. We then go to the pool water park area and had a hard time finding towels as I have 2 littles along with me. They should be more located close to all the doors leading into areas. I then asked front desk if they had little swimmers available in which they said they did but were only available in the family changing rooms at a cost of $2.50 and machine only took quarters. I had to use ATM to withdraw money, then go to front desk to get quarters. I find family changing rooms and it’s occupied. We sit and wait… and wait….. and wait….. at least 15-20 min. I finally go back to a worker by the arcade and ask if there is any other place to get some because this room is occupied and has been for awhile. The worker finds me 2 free of charge. Best part of the stay to be honest. Now it’s evening and we order our pizza pkg and ask if it can be delivered to our room as kids are hungry and tired. Yup they say in about 25 min. Okay cool. After waiting 45 min we call to the cafe and they say ours is done but they have several orders so they are waiting for all to be done so they can deliver all at same time. Like what? Are you serious? I don’t want my food cold and yuck. Ended up going down and getting the food myself. The next morning I wake up to an almost $100 charge on my c/c and so I texted them asking what it was for. They tell me it’s for the bday bag and pizza pkg. None of it makes sense and they cannot explain to me to where I understand what and how I am being charged. I’m all for paying what I owe. But I wanna know what it’s costing me upfront. Thought this was all included in my original price that I paid before arriving. Not you charging my c/c what you want and when you want. Watch your C/C’s people, this place...
