So disappointed with Modern Craft's inability to keep up with the increased bustle during Snowfest in Frankenmuth last weekend. I'd been following the winery on social media since seeing it during the festival last year, and was looking forward to visiting and trying it this year.
Going to Frankenmuth with a group of family members including young kids, my mom and I only had a few minutes to step away and have a wine tasting. Although there were several open seats at the bar on Saturday evening, we walked in were told that wine tastings were not available for a little while. We didn't have any time to waste, so unfortunately we left without being able to experience the wine.
Going to the winery was one of the things that I was really looking forward to doing at Snowfest this year. Nonetheless, there were so many things going on in the city that we couldn't dedicate hours to wait for whatever was keeping the venue from offering tastings. My mom and I love wine and were expecting a wonderful experience there together. Next year, I think we will try St....
Read moreCame in today to use some gift certificates that I had purchased previously online. I realize that I was busy because scarecrow fest was going on, however I feel like the service was terrible. I went in the the intention of just buying some bottles as I have had the wine in the past, but I would have liked to try one or two of the flavors that I have not had before. After waiting a good ten minutes at the bar before even being acknowledged, the first thing the woman said to me was "we don't have any glasses so..." I said that was okay as I really just had the intention of buying some bottles. I told her what I would like to purchase, she grabbed them off the shelf and continued to wait on everyone else at the bar with samples before coming back to ring me up. I feel as though I was pushed to the wayside because there were no glasses left to engage me in samples? If I wouldn't have had the gift certificates to spend I would have just left. I have been treated much better at many other wineries, even with the intention of just sampling. Don't ever plan on...
Read moreIt’s 7:05 and this business closes at 8. The bar was full, and at first I was ignored. I stood on the end and asked for a glass tasting before I bought the bottle, but the guy said he was with his last group and was closing. There was 45 minutes. It was I and my friend who happened to be the only black woman at the time. The guy then let another woman sit at the bar while he continued to talk to the two young white women at the bar. I just wanted a bottle of wine. I said okay, and walked away. He then continued to talk badly about me and my friend, to the two women he was entertaining. Bad business, rude, and...
