I’ve actually spent quite a bit of time and money in this store with my family because I thought the concept was pretty awesome and we did support their business today, but not anymore. Me and family came in today to look around like we always do and my youngest daughter just turned 21 last month, (granted she does look younger than her age but she did show her ID to the guy behind the counter) so today was her first time purchasing some wine from there wine bar, the host behind the counter was amazing and so was the lady who checked me out at the counter, but the owner is a complete different story, she question her staff after they have done there job correctly and keeps a extra close eye on people she thinks are going to steal from her store. But here’s a little piece of advice: looks can be deceiving and who you think might not steal, might actually steal! me and my family have money and have no reason to be treated like we steal! That is not how you run your business, especially in a tourist town, where every nationality and race comes walking through your doors everyday. Yeah I know you have to protect your business and employees, but you shouldn’t judge someone by how they look, that’s just discrimination and racism and I will not support a business like that anymore I have never had any issues when shopping here in previous years until today and the way you treated us like that is how you loose customers. I can just imagine how many people have been treated like this...
Read morePretty bad experience with a rude/judgy employee or owner.
Was just in there visiting with my family. I’m wearing a Van Buren Boys shirt (Seinfeld reference from 1997..episode title in season 8….ZERO political reference at all to anything currently, since the shirt is from you know, 1997.)
A woman comes up to us and immediately points to my toddler son to a rude tone “is HE a Buren Boy too??”
I playfully tell her it’s a Seinfeld shirt and her response is “well I watch Seinfeld too and I’ve never heard of that.” And then says nothing else.
I think this know-it-all, ill informed woman thought it was reference to an extreme right wing group called the Proud Boys, judging from the way she came right up to us, trying to start a confrontation, like she was going to be some hero, instead she just looked silly when she was corrected on it and then acted like she was in the right.
Never wrote a bad review before on here but this lady was so rude. Didn’t say anything positive or helpful like “welcome,” or “can I help you,” or “have a nice day” while we were there. Just assumed incorrectly that a Van Buren boys shirt, that shows 2 hands up, 1 hand holding a pepper shaker (8 fingers up, since Van Buren was the 8th president and how Kramer avoided them, was a hateful, political shirt.
She was the only hateful one in there. ...
Read moreThe store is cute and they have a vast selection of different stones, beads, fossils, etc, however, the customer service is HORRENDOUS. I was the only customer in the store and did not receive a greeting or any type of acknowledgement or assistance, which is fine, but what's not fine, is that I stood at the register waiting to be cashed out while three employees stood around doing absolutely nothing. They blatantly ignored my existence and attempt to cash out. I know this for a fact because one of the workers walked to the register that I was standing at, picked something up from behind the counter, and walked away to talk to another girl at the section with the display cases. Then another worker walked up the stairs (which is right next to the register), made eye contact with me, saw that I was ready to check out (my items were on the counter), and walked to a different part of the store past the two other workers that were just standing there talking. I waited a little less than 10 minutes until my friend walked in to check on me, then the girl that walked away from the register earlier decided to cash me out after my friend walked in. I don't mind waiting however long if employees are busy working, but purposely ignoring a customer...
