As I just arrived in USA the first time of my life, I was so happy! Then I called the owner to let her know I was ready for check in (which is between 4-9pm on call exclusively) when she said after a moment ‘I don’t care’ and hung up the phone. Found my way, the 2 workers in the accomodati under a tourist visa were very welcoming and kind, and terribly scared by this owner I had the pleasure to not meet yet. The house is old as recited in the only toilet for 5 shared rooms (there is another one 50+ steps downstairs in the probable case you will be desperate enough to go for it) and in the many other ORDERS around the house. After check out there is no luggage room, but you are welcome to leave your luggages NO LATER THAN SIX in an unattended reception. As I met the landlord around 2pm, after asking all morning long if I could do a very needed laundry, and asked as one of the 3 guest of the whole accommodation if she could let me do it, she tried to charge me an extra night for it. I said I wouldn’t pay 60+5$ for a laundry, so I got kicked out from the property with her saying ‘I’ll call the police’ during the 2 minutes in which I was silently doing my luggages. IF YOU ARE NOT AMERICAN, IN THAT ‘HOUSE’ YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED LESS THAN...
Read moreI absolutely loved staying at Wanderfalls. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. The house is extremely clean and very pretty (if you're into vintage houses)! Beds were comfortable with clean sheets, pillow and blanket provided. Kitchen is fully equipped and there's a Tops market nearby for groceries. Free tea throughout the day and coffee and pancakes in the morning! Although there's only 2 bathrooms, I didn't have a problem with sharing since everyone has different schedules. Hot water was available every time.
The Falls state park (aquarium and view!) starts literally within a 5 minute walk from the hostel. The hosts will explain the shortest walking routes etc when you check in. There's an electronic keypad on the door so no key worries. Lockers inside the bedroom closet have ample space, just carry a lock with you!
I met some amazing people at the house from all over the world. I'd highly recommend staying at Wanderfalls if you're visiting Niagara. In fact, I'm planning to visit again just to stay at the house, relax and work in the quiet when school...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here in July 2019. We stayed in the private room. Price was excellent. All the hotels downtown were 2 1/2 to 3 times the cost. Initial communications with Carol provided me with all the info I needed and I booked at that time. The day of arrival, I received an email asking what time we would arrive. I sent my estimated time back and Carol was there to meet us when we arrived. Carol is a friendly lady with lots of info about the city and attractions. She drew us a map of things to do and see based on our questions. Then she showed us the hostel and our room.||The bed in the private room was quite comfortable. My wife and I both slept great. Pancakes are served in the dining room in the morning for a homey touch. We had a rental car. Parking was across the street in a lot. Everyone in the hostel was friendly and we would stay here again. We didn't do a lot of walking from the hostel but it seems quite doable. Instead we parked at...
