We really enjoyed our time and thank Michelle, our waitress, at Wine on Third. We happened to oversleep our nap after a long day of walking Niagara Falls and realized we didn't eat dinner and it was late around 9:30pm. After reading reviews of open places around our area within walking distance, we found some had reviews of not accepting patrons even up to an hour before closing. That's a no-go, so we were hesitant to find a place closer than A&W which opened till 1am and a much longer walk. Thank goodness our Airbnb was steps away from Wine on Third. We saw Michelle outside closing umbrellas and asked if they were open for business which was almost an hour before their closing time. She was so welcoming and friendly and accommodated us with a table inside. Special shout-out to her and the chef for making our pizzas exactly how we like them and extremely understanding of my dairy allergy! They were excellent and we scarfed the leftovers for breakfast! Absolutely great red sauce, very fresh tasting! We appreciate your hard-working and friendly nature and so glad for the opportunity to experience this gem. As we will probably not go back to Niagara, I hope this review encourages others to try it out. You won't be disappointed. Very clean and chill place. Wish your neighboring buildings matched the upscale ambiance you've achieved. While the prices are a little more, you can tell the ingredients and service are worth it!...
Read moreExcellent food, excellent ambiance, professional waitress, and the place had super-high celings as well as tell all signs of old glory. When we went in, we were seated across the bar, where a few friendly looking fancy locals were enjoying their drinks. They were loud, and sensing my irritation, two of the fancy ladies in the group kept apologizing to us in intervals. They might have thought we were foreigners, but we didn't mind the misrepresention. I wanted to move away from the noise, but my daughter told me to stay. She didn't want to embarrass the crowd by getting up and making a scene. But, soon to my relief, they vanished like a group of birds, probably to the next bar. I had salmon and one local beer, Blood orange. The chef did an excellent job w my salmon, cooking it to near perfection. I liked the beer too with its very slight tamanind-like flavor. I thought of a second one, but one beer is always my self-imposed quota, so I didn't venture beyond that. It was all good, very enjoyable. The waitress, the bar matron, they all were very friendly checking on us w genuine passion. We wanted to go back there the next day to try out some other dish, but we didn't want to deal w the quizzing at the US border crossing, although the officers were all very professional both ways. All in all, nothing...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I were in town for the weekend to check out the falls, and wanted to find a nice place to go for dinner on our last night. Surprisingly, in the town around the falls in the winter there is not a lot of options for nice restraunts. It's mostly chains or tourist food (burgers, cheesesteaks, dogs).
After walking around to multiple different restaurants that said they were open online but were closed upon getting there, we thought we'd give this place a go after seeing they had a decent menu for food.
There weren't too many people there, and most of them were drinking. The bartender greeted us upon entry and got us seated.
I got a cucumber cocktail, which was really refreshing, but it still got me a nice little buzz just off one. My girlfriend got a glass of Moscato, which tasted just like grape juice.
For food, I got their steak sandwich, and my girlfriend got the truffle creme cavatappi pasta. My sandwich was perfectly toasted and had a great balance on sauce. The steak was cooked well and tender, and not a single piece was fatty or chewy. The pasta was well cooked and flavorful but not too intense on the truffle flavor.
If we were ever in town again, we'd definitely return. The food and drinks were incredible, and our server was sweet and...
