My boyfriend and I were here for a Coheed and Cambria concert on February 27, 2019. The band was amazing, however, security was not. Upon entry I was not patted down, I didn’t have to open my coat, and they didn’t really look in my purse. They had me open up the main pocket, took a one-second glance, and that was it. My boyfriend was patted down, had to open his coat, empty his pockets, etc. and he had our metal straws for drinking. The security guard asked him three times what they were, and three times he told them they were straws. We had to throw them away or else we wouldn’t be allowed in even though at this point they already scanned our tickets. I was very upset about this because if I had been the one carrying them it would not have been an issue, and it defeats the purpose of having metal straws. I needed them, but at this point was too embarrassed to say anything with the security guard practctly throwing us out the doors already. We weren’t rude to him, we didn’t cause any problems, and as a criminal justice major I found his actions to be very inappropriate and unnecessary. While we were inside we also noticed that every drink came in a plastic cup, with no recycling bins. I was disappointed in the sea of plastic that we couldn’t get away from, and we ended up not getting anything to drink because of it and with the lack of our metal straws. The interior of the theater is beautiful with the gold etching, but I’m still giving the venue a one star review because of the lack of security on myself and for the excessive security on my boyfriend having us throw away our metal straws. I was amazed that if I had been the one to have them, or if I was someone who had ill intentions to harm people here that night I could have since I was not properly...
Read moreThis is my second time visiting this venue . The first time I visited it appeared as though the inside was in shambles and half of the venue was blocked off. I did not find the sound to be very good. I visited the bar and I ordered an amaretto sour and was told they do not stock amaretto, so I ordered a screwdriver and was served a glass of sunny delight with half a teaspoon of vodka, and I believe I was charged quite a lot of money for that beverage. My second visit was even worse than the first time. I was supposed to have an area roped off to have my car parked but when I arrived I was told I was a security hazard therefore they could not permit me to park my car behind the ropes. Then I was supposed to be on their guest list and I was advised that there was no guest list and unfortunately they did not have time to even figure out where the miscommunication was or speak with the band manager. I ended up missing the entire concert and had to sit on a bench in front by myself in the freezing cold. If your favorite band is playing at this venue I highly recommend buying a ticket for the next show in the next city and avoid going to this...
Read moreBuyer beware - They will not help you get a refund for cancelled shows. I bought a ticket through etix.com for a show the City and Colour show that was cancelled in 2020. I was told through etix that I would receive a refund. After calling etix and harassing them for months I was told that etix was actually waiting for Rapids to approve the refunds. I reached out to Rapids multiple times and was told that refunds were going to be approved starting in 2022. It's been 3 months and I have tried reaching out to them again with no luck. I understand COVID caused a lot of issues, but taking $50-100 from people and not giving them a refund when it was communicated to them that they WOULD receive a refund is not a good business model. I see multiple reviews on here stating that people who had tickets to that same show never received their refunds.
I won't be supporting this venue again.
I want to add that I purchased other tickets through ETIX at different venues and received refunds for those within DAYS! This is clearly just Rapids not wanting to refund people...
