My friend passed away exactly a year ago and I wanted to come and see his grave but my car won’t start. There is nothing that I can do about that and I’m very upset I can’t make it to him.
I called and spoke with the general manager at the Best Western GreenTree Clarksville IN about cancelling my reservation and possibly having the fees waived, and I’m very emotional and not the best at communicating right now. I sort of stuttered a lot. I didn’t mention why I can’t make it when I called the hotel because no ones problems are more important than others, but I did assume my cancellation reason would be inquired about.
Cold “no ways’s” were all I got. She even cut me off while I was asking about my options to let me know she is the only one I can speak to about it, she is the only manager. She didn’t ask what’s goin on? Why do you need to cancel? I’m pretty sure my mother could have died or I could have broken my back and this manager still would have refused me any kind of sympathy, compassion, or even interest in what her guest had to say. I never would have had the opportunity to say anything because I’m sure she’d tell me she doesn’t care if I had tried. Rule # 1 of customer service and being the manager of employees: even if you have to say no to a guest or discipline/fire someone after they’re done explaining themselves, LISTEN to what someone has called or come to tell you. Let them speak.
My problem here is with her, the manager, not the fact that my cancellation fee won’t be waived. I knew there was risk when I booked with them, but I didn’t know there was an apathetic manager who has a natural tone of being annoyed with her guests.
She seems to be the kind of person who will read this and laugh, probably poke around about it to some of her co-workers making fun at my expense. Even if I get charged $128 to stay home while I grieve my friend in disappointment, I’m glad I didn’t have to actually deal with her cold attitude in person while in my delicate state of mind, as are many others while their traveling - and that should be considered when talking with their customers. Their reviews say their breakfast is amazing though, so...
Read moreI doubt that there could be a filthier motel in the world. After I checked in, I went to the room and could barely get the key card to work. Once I entered the room, I wished that I would have booked a different motel. There was crud all over the place. It looked as if nothing in the room had been cleaned in years. The walls, refrigerator, microwave, mirror, shower lamps, tables and the floors were so filthy that I was so grossed out. The floor lamp was broken and barely standing, and didn't work, the light bulbs were burnt out in most of the fixtures, there were some kind of bugs crawling on the walls, and one had been smashed above the headboard on the bed. There was about a quarter inch of dust on everything in the room. The door had been busted, and anyone could have pushed their way in. the cleanest things in the room looked to be the bed and toilet. I was actually surprised with everything else being so dirty. I took several pictures and showed them to the lady at the counter that checked me out the next morning, and she told me that there had been a lady that had rented that particular room for about a year straight and wouldn't let housekeeping in to clean the room, and she had just moved out and that the room wasn't supposed to be rented out yet because housekeeping and maintenance hadn't been in there yet to look the room over and clean. She told me that when the Manager came in that she would have them to call me to see if i could get a refund. I actually slept in my clothes because the place was so dirty and i was so disgusted by all of the filth. I didn't eat their breakfast because i was afraid that maybe the kitchen and all of the food may be just as filthy. The Manager never called me, and I never received a refund, but I can guarantee that I will never be back. I know that if I had called the health department that they wouldn't have a problem shutting the place down, it...
Read moreIn Dire Need of an Update !!!
I travel for business well over one hundred nights a year and stay in hotels all over the US and Canada. Best Western is one of the brands that I sometimes choose for a one or two-night stay. The Louisville area can be quite expensive at certain times of the year so many of us have no choice but to stay across the river in Jeffersonville or Clarksville. I stayed at this Best Western location for two nights and I have to say this hotel or motel needs a serious update. I fully commend the staff for keeping this property as clean as they can, the front desk staff for being as accommodating as they can and housekeeping for keeping the rooms as clean as they can. My room was on the outer perimeter which has only one floor. My room was as clean as it could be however the room was musty, the carpet was long overdue for replacement, the heating/AC unit was noisy as heck, the furniture was outdated and there were bugs in my room. The good news is that the bed was comfortable and the wifi signal was great.
The fitness room was small and cramped with older equipment with some needing repair or replacement. The room is small and cramped and has questionable cooling even at night in the summer. The room has a water cooler and disinfectant spray to wipe before and after you use the equipment. I was able to do a cardio workout on the elliptical. The room and equipment need an update. Breakfast was served with a wide array of hot and cold choices, pastries, bread and a little fresh fruit. The Breakfast staff did their best to keep everything replenished as the room was full of people during the times I ate there. The property has an outdoor pool and I saw many people using it. This is someplace you stay if you want to risk it or need a budget-friendly hotel. Overall I have stayed in countless Best Wewsterns and this one is in the worst shape I've seen in a long time. Need...
