This is a very nice little motel. If I had stayed in the Springs longer, I would have continued staying here. I found the customer service to be very good. There was a little goodie bag of snacks for me when I arrived and they were very friendly. Check-in and check-out were easy.
Pros:
Very conveniently located, regardless of what you want to do in the Colorado Springs area. Gas station, 7-11, liquor store, and several restaurants all within walking distance.
The mini fridge and microwave in the room was very convenient, especially for road trippers like me. This was a key factor in my decision to stay here.
The room itself was pretty clean and the interior design was clearly updated/upgraded in recent years
The desk lamp had power outlets on it, which made it very convenient for me when plugging in my laptop to work and for charging my devices.
Good amount of storage space
Cons:
A side effect of the convenien location is that it is on a fairly busy road, and so sometimes traffic could be a little loud. Keep in mind I'm sensitive to noise, so it may not be an issue for you. It wasn't terrible but I did notice it.
It was a little hard to block light with the curtains as much as I wanted to, but to be fair, I was in a room with windows on 2 walls. I also found the light coming from the hallway under my door to be annoying, so I blocked it with a towel
I felt like my bathroom was a little small and could have used more lighting, specifically above the sink. There was one overhead light in the bathroom in my room which did not light the toilet area well and made it sort of tough when doi g things in the vanity mirror. Keep in mind that other rooms may be different.
Overall, this is a nice little roadside motel with a quaint retro style, recently-updated rooms, good customer service, and a great location. My list of pros outweighs the cons, and when you figure in a good price, I definitely...
Read moreMy second time to stay here. Caveat...this motel is NOT a 5 star place. If I wanted a perfect place, new furnishings, updated amenities, sound proof walls, and a stellar breakfast, I could get that...at $120+ a night!
If you are on a low budget, need a clean, quiet, close to every Springs attraction, good eats nearby, then $80/night is a good deal especially compared to the competition.
The rooms are spacious, water hot, indoor pool is heated...but never used it...yet, linen is clean and soft, and housekeeping is done with excellence.
But the bathroom I had is dated, has chipped tile on the edge between the carpet and tile, and the walls are not insulated so you can here conversations and snoring (I kid you not) in the next room. THIS is the one aspect I did not appreciate at all. The owner is making $2,560 a night with full occupancy. He can afford to fill the walls with cellulose, and to sound buffer the doors between adjoining sweets. It is short sighted and cheap (or greedy, if you prefer) not to do this!
My room had two comfortable queen beds, pictures and a full length mirror on the walls, a fridge and microwave, and a dated but serviceable sink. The painting is sloppy in the vanity area, but the carpets are clean nice and pleasant to look at.
The flat screen tv is good quality and parking is right up to the door.
I am staying four evenings and it is perfect for my needs for business and leisure.
Lastly, the absolute BEST thing about this place is Christine, the manager. We were arriving late, and she made arrangements to get me checked in, texted the address, she always treats guests with genuine hospitality, got me extra towels, and is a joy to work with.
I will stay here every time I come to Colorado Springs, without hesitation! Thanks for reading my book...
Read moreWe stayed here about a month ago. The motel is nice and clean. The location is great. But I can't recommend this place unless some staffing changes have been made. We came back to our room one morning to find one of the housekeepers and a man outside our door arguing. I saw them closing our door behind them. The man took off and the housekeeper made a comment about him not helping with something he should have. Then asked if we needed our room cleaned and that she hadn't been in there yet. Odd, because I saw them close the door but we turned down the cleaning. The next day while we were napping with the do not disturb sign on the door, a housekeeper came in to the room. When we returned home, while I was unpacking I noticed that a bag I had hidden in my suitcase had been tampered with. A ring was missing along with a cash gift card, possibly some cash but I can't recall with certainty if I had any cash hidden in that bag or not. We called in hopes the ring had fallen out. The owner tore up the room to look for the ring. When he called to let me know he hadn't found it, I shared my suspicions that someone had taken it from my bag. He said it was impossible because we had turned down maid service one day and the next we had the DND on the door. That is what his staff reported to him but that is not what happened. He was surprised to hear that they had actually been in our room twice. I filed a police report but the ring hasn’t turned up. Unfortunate because we really did like the motel. The motel was in a great location, we liked being able to walk to some shops and restaurants. There was a large homeless camp in the area but they didn’t bother us at all as we...
