Do. Not. Stay. Here. ||Stayed here for business meetings that I had in the area. I’m a Gold Member for Hilton and Marriott, so I’m familiar with hotels and how they should normally function. |Where do I begin? ||- No front door to the hotel (apparently the revolving door was broken some time ago and it’s been under construction for a while). They re-route you to a side entrance. ||- WiFi did not work in the room. Tried on 3 different devices…none of them worked. I’m not a rookie…I know how to get WiFi in a hotel room. The error message said my name didn’t match the room number. Front desk solution was for me to call Hilton IT! Hahaha!|When I finally got through to someone in Hyderabad, he had to white-list my IP addresses to get the devices to connect. |I later found out that the front desk listed my name as some other random guest (Rajesh?) so that’s why the name didn’t match the room. ||- Toilet handle completely broken. Only way to flush the toilet was to re-engineer it myself. Was broken the entire time….and probably has been for years. ||- No housekeeping service the next day. Sometimes a hotel will tell you that they don’t service your room unless you request it. This hotel did NOT tell me that. And when I came back from being gone all day to the room being untouched, I asked the front desk about it. They said “housekeeping doesn’t usually come during your stay.” Ahhhh…I see…something that would have been helpful to know upon check in. So I had to get fresh towels from the front desk. ||- The pool was kept to a balmy 10°F. Was sitting outside and two people stepped in and nearly jumped out almost as quickly. Two kids wanted to swim but it was too cold for them (while it was 90° outside). ||- Windows in the room were apparently last washed when they were installed decades ago. On a positive note, the dirt and cobwebs provided a natural tint that kept the sun out. ||All in all, a very poor Hilton experience. If you have to be in Concord, I would recommend staying...
Read moreI stay at Hilton a lot. Until now. Last week I had a trip planned to Northern California with my kids, we now reside in the Riverside area. I paid for my room in advance, & was looking forward to sleep & relaxation after a 7+ hour drive with 3 kids, me being the only adult. Very exhausted, we arrived to check-in. Providing my card for incidentals, everything seemed fine. Then the woman at the front desk said the computer froze, & was taking longer than usual. I waited. She said to swipe it again. I did. Came back "declined." I knew there must be a mistake, there was more than enough available funds for the deposit. Then suddenly received text alerts on my phone regarding TWO charges on my account. It finally had come back declined the 3rd time, bc TWO charges had maxed my card out. She had even signed on the screen. I asked her if that completed the transaction, she told me several times that it didn't complete on their end. I told the clerk my card had been charged TWICE for the deposit, & that was the reason it came back declined the 3rd time. Even presented her the texts showing that was the case. She asked if I could clear it up with my bank. Mind you, this is 5 pm on a Saturday. Jun 16. There was nothing they could do immediately to release the funds. I went back to the front desk, asked for the manager Danielle. I informed her I had driven over 7 hours, room was already paid for, & that Hilton's computer malfunction maxed out my only credit card. I further explained that I had cash, & that I'd pay an even bigger deposit. She absolutely refused. So not only was I hundreds of miles away from home, but I had already paid for the room, then had my credit card additionally charged temporarily (21 day hold), but without credit card funds, I had to find a motel required no deposit, and had to pay for that room as well. I've worked for a Hotel chain. I know things can be done. I'm still livid, I was in tears. I've spent a lot of money at Hilton, & I will...
Read moreWould stay here again if I were in the area again. It was clean and the front desk agents were polite.
Ran into a couple hiccups, but I still think they deserve a 5-star review.
Pros: good location (across lots of places to shop/restaurants and near the freeway) clean friendly staff easy parking ($19/day which was eh but okay)
Cons: a little miscommunication on more than one occasion seems like a place to attract party crowds
Cons explained:
The miscommunication was with the front desk/housekeeping. Because of covid, you have to request for housekeeping to come instead of them just coming everyday. So, we made a request for our trash to get picked up one morning, but when we got back at night, it was still there. We called again and asked; they said to leave the trash bins outside which we did. They came but they took the bins and didn't leave us with anything to put our trash in. So we called AGAIN, and they said they'd send someone up to bring it but they didn't bring it that night. We had to call once more in the morning to finally get our bins.
We saw a couple party crowds over the weekend and there was an incident with one who happened to be staying in the room next to us. It was after midnight and these early 20-somethings were laughing loud and belligerently screaming for a while. We called front desk and they sent someone up about 10 minutes later. Soon after that, we hear loud knocking on the door (its now almost 1am). We tried to ignore the knocks, but they were knocking loudly and would not go away after a few minutes. Long story short, it was the belligerents from next door who were going door to door trying to find out who called and complained. (Yeah, they were those type.) We called front desk in the morning and told us that those people were checking out that day and they would not allow them to extend their stay if they asked to, etc. They...
