Just went today to try one of the newest Mexican restaurant in dodge, and to be completely sincere it was AWFUL beyond words. And this come from a Mexican perspective who's travel many places in Mexico (mostly Mexico city, Puebla, Veracruz) and knows what makes a good Mexican dish or restaurant. The Menu was hard to follow, not much to be interested in or at least be familiar with. The waiter zoned out in the middle of our order, and then followed by an almost 1 hour wait for the food to arrive. In my table we order "Carne asada" which was a lot of meat in one plate enough for 2 people if you're ordering it, some overpriced tostadas (trust me very few people would buy a small tostada for almost 6$ with really cheap fiesta walmart cheese), "el molcajete" exaggerates with the spiciness taking almost all of the away. The experience was bad enough just to eat and leave but also the billing was way off!!! Funny enough they tried to overcharge us 26$ more of what we order, for a simple 56$ dinner. We disputed the issue and it resulted that they added to the bill 3 margaritas which we never ordered. I would't recommend this restaurant at all, so avoid yourself of being overcharged for some bad food. C'mon even "El Torito" can put...
Read moreThis restaurant, in the heart of Dodge City, was quite disappointing. A group of friends and I (numbering 12, all from Mexico) came after spending the day here in Dodge. Nothing to complain about with the service, everyone is friendly. However, once the food began showing up, the problems began. I ordered "Los Ponchos" fajitas (double) to share with my father, which supposedly included shrimp, steak, and chicken. Everything came about 3 minutes apart, so I watched the fajitas stop sizzling and cool off before I finally got the tortillas. But the fajitas didn't have the shrimp! Plus, the only thing that was double about the size was the plate with rice, beans, sour cream, etc; there was barely any fajitas, the majority of which being vegetables anyway. Maybe this could have been forgivable if the food was delicious, but sadly, the flavor fell completely flat. The fajitas were soggy and completely lacking flavor. The rice and beans had seemingly no salt. And my father and I weren't the only ones disappointed. Our whole group was plagued with the same problems according to taste and portion size. This place has some work to do definitely. The owners and staff are friendly and warm; unfortunately, the food is...
Read moreCHECK YOUR BILL!!!!!
Food was decent, service was pretty quick.
When the bill came there was no breakdown of the charges. It was illegibly hand written and the bill was $10 more than it should’ve been. We were the only ones in there at the time so there’s no chance that the bills got mixed up. You could see where they had changed a 2 into a 3 making the bill go from $20 to $30. I reviewed the menu based on what we ordered and the bill should’ve only been about 20 something dollars. Make sure you check your bill before you leave. They Charged me an extra $10 to loose a customer and get a negative review. I do not usually write reviews but the dishonesty Over $10 motivated me to write and let people know that you should CHECk YOUR BILL if you go to this place. There are a lot of options not very far from this place I would recommend trying...
