On my night of stay, this hotel did not live up to the expectations and standards that other Choice Hotels do and have. This hotel apparently operates outside the channels/rules/umbrella of Choice Hotels and goes "rogue" on certain things. For example, I made a guaranteed reservation, with my work credit card, the same work credit card that I've used to stay dozens of times and achieve Diamond status with Choice, and had just used the night before, only to have my card declined arbitrarily by this hotel and staff. I had a confirmation number, a guarantee on my profile activity, and also an email. None of that mattered to this hotel and staff. My reservation was guaranteed until 7AM the morning following my stay according to all of my information, not according to this hotel and this staff. They unsuccessfully attempted to charge my credit card at 6PM the night of my arrival before I arrived which invalidated my reservation according to them, and also made it where I couldn't used my card to validate my guaranteed reservation or "cancel" the previous one and make a new one when I arrived. The front desk worker actually told me that it didn't matter and that he didn't care that I had a reservation or a guarantee or an email because of how they do things. He actually had the nerve to tell me that he would show me the door unless I produced an alternate form of payment. It was 11:15 PM on a Thursday night after a drive from Saginaw with a 4 year old and pregnant wife. I have never been so furious and insulted in my life. What they do with reservations is try to charge everyone's cards before they arrive to protect themselves against no shows and invalid cards, which is totally contrary to the polices of Choice Hotels and the reservation guarantees I receive when I stay at other Choice Hotels. Not MY problem as a loyal and dedicated Choice Member and customer that YOUR particular hotel has problems with no shows and lack of payment. I will NEVER stay here again and unless I hear from someone in the Choice Hotel's organization, I WILL be switching my loyalty and allegiance to another hotel chain and promotion/member program....
Read moreWe have stayed here a few times over the past few years and have been totally satisfied with the hotel. Stayed here 6/13/2015 and thought that the hotel had changed hands or management as our room was incomplete like it was not used very often. Small things such as carpet not swept, one coffee cup, no desk lamp, stained chair, dirty walls, hair in bath tub. Not terrible but not acceptable for the $$$ amount. The first concern was coming to the front door to check in and finding the front desk staff outside next to the door smoking. He was attentive when I told him I had a reservation. Next issue was Sunday morning breakfast, although there was almost enough of the food I wanted there wasn't ever anyone in the breakfast area to replenish the missing food and beverage. Behind the check in-out desk were 4-5 people complaining to each other about the missing staff and one by one all went outside to smoke and I guess continue the complaining session. After about 10 minutes or so, wish I would have timed it but didn't, the staff trickled in smelling of cigarette smoke and as an ex smoker it is very offensive. We finally finished our adequate breakfast, and soon after left hoping our next stay would be as good as in the past. As we left our room to leave the hotel we found the hallway blocked with cleaning cart and dirty linen bags blocking the hallway and watching a staff member see us try to navigate our way out of the building and do nothing about it. At that point I kicked the obstructions out of the way so we could exit the building. When checking out the person at the desk[one of the missing people, possibly a smoker] was very nice and said thank you and have a nice day and I said I wanted a receipt and she said we paid with points and I knew I had paid with a credit card. Maybe I should have left at that time and not been charged for the room, but I didn't. NOT A GOOD STAY. WE WILL TRY ONE MORE TIME. Like the hotel and location but checked others since this stay and will book elsewhere if not satisfied next time. Most of our stays at Choice Hotels are good. Hope to hear from someone...
Read moreDo not recommend staying here. The new Front Desk girl was Amazing even for being new she had Great Customer Service and accommodated Our needs to the best of her abilities. I had been staying in my room with 3 of my travel ball players when one suddenly woke up from being bitten over 16 times. Yes 16 from what they found the next day at Urgent Care. “Roger “ Robert” the general Manager” whatever his name is. Treated us extremely poorly. I did ask for a refund or some sort of compensation as I had one player but 16 times the other 4. This so called manager had the brains to give me the excuse of and I quote “upon my arrival back to work we found no bugs I even had my staff lock the door”. As if the bugs use doors. He also said the bug he seen has been dead for a few days “the bug I brought to the counter Sunday morning” obviously the bugs dead? And why was it addressed (days) later I had shown the the front desk staff the bed bug, a video, and shown them the bites. But this manager has still refused. As we conversed through email I had mentioned I can either show up in person the following weekend with the parents or continue other avenues of repayment . We decided to show up that Friday mid-day as I said I would in the email and wouldn’t you know it he “wasn’t there”. Essentially explaining things to the corporate office I was refunded my money in full and given two free nights. As I explained to the manager I did not want to leave a review as well as make a complaint with the state and local health department his actions have left me with no choice. I do hope this manager is reprimanded, and retrained as his staff is the only thing holding that...
