Unicha Tea & Ice cream — Restaurant in East Lansing

Overrated and overpriced. I decided to give this place a try after seeing all the hype. The self ordering doesn't have the house combo ice creams so I tried to make the same ones "DIY". The employees were too busy to take orders and the place was short-staffed. Paid nearly $18 for two ice creams. Mine was made 15 minutes after my friend's so hers melted by the time I got mine. They had to make a new batch for mine and they must have forgotten an ingredient because it tasted like nothing.

Maybe it was just bad luck but I reached out to the owner and he doesn't seem to care. I went back in the afternoon but they were closed (the door says open at 12 PM). I went back later that night at 9 PM and they were also closed.... (google says 5-10 PM). Seems like they don't have a clue what...

I heard good things about this place's ice cream and I tried it today. First of all, their ice cream is not something crazy, so I believe it is way overrated, and relatively expensive for what you actually get.

When I got there today, it was 79 degrees outside, and it was even warmer inside. The AC or any ventilation system was either broken or off, and the place was stinking because of people's BO. There are obviously under-staff, cause I waited like 40 minutes to have my ice cream.

But something that I found really disturbing was that all the milks were sitting out of fridge! It was disgusting. That place was at least 80F and those milks were sitting outside for at least the time I was there! I think these people needs to practice basic dairy-handling-rules before...

As someone else reviewed, ALL of my credit card charges for the past 6 months (yes, that's how far back they went) showed up on the same day months later. This is unacceptable and leaves people worried about credit card fraudulent charges. I called my bank and even they said they had never seen anything that delayed before. I will NEVER be ordering with a credit card there again and if they won't accept cash, we will never go back there. Terrible business practice! And how in the world is this business still operating if they waited 6 months to process credit card payments? Sad because their ice cream is great, but not worth the stress of wondering when they will surprise us by actually processing...
