Thorns in the Experience: A Thorny Visit to Rosewater Market
My recent visit to Rosewater Market left me with an overwhelmingly disappointing taste, far from the rosy experience one would expect. The cap logo boldly declaring "Eat Well, Be Kind" was a misleading facade, as my encounter with the service and staff manners fell painfully short of these aspirations.
Upon entering Rosewater Market, the atmosphere seemed more prickly than inviting. The young girls manning the service counter appeared disinterested, and their lack of respect for customers was palpable. It was a stark contradiction to the establishment's claim of promoting kindness.
The wait for service felt like an eternity, and when attention was finally garnered, the lack of manners was astounding. It is disheartening to witness such apathy, especially when the very ethos of the establishment encourages kindness and good service.
As for the food, one would expect a market promoting the idea of "eating well" to deliver a satisfying culinary experience. However, the reality was quite the opposite – the dishes were disappointingly average, failing to live up to the promises made on the menu. Food was served on cardboard and to boot, no utensils were offered.
What truly soured the experience was the evident gap between the advertised commitment to kindness and the actual behavior of the staff. The disregard for basic courtesy and customer service principles left me questioning the authenticity of Rosewater Market's values.
In conclusion, my visit to Rosewater Market was far from the blooming experience I anticipated. Subpar service, uninspiring food, and a blatant disregard for the establishment's proclaimed values made this visit more thorny than rosy. "Eat Well, Be Kind" seems like a distant dream in the midst of the discourtesy I encountered at...
Read moreDuring our wedding weekend in Martha's Vineyard, we used Rosewater Market to provide us daily breakfast or lunch treats. Any time we visit MV, Rosewater is one of our first stops and then we visit every day.
What you may not realize is Rosewater also does AMAZING gift bags. Because we love it so much, we asked our wedding planner to coordinate with Rosewater to see what treats we could provide our guests. And, the result was nothing short of incredible...many said "the best gift bags ever." We even made an upgrade versus our originally planned sailcloth bag to the Rosewater one because that is how they delivered all the goodies. The bags included: Herban Essentials towelettes, bags of popcorn, granola, chocolate bars, oranges, coffee plus still and sparkling water bottles tied with ribbon and stripey straws.
Thank you, Julia and team, for helping our guests feel so incredibly welcomed from the moment they arrived on island. We can't wait for our next dose of...
Read moreI am gluten free and stopped by a place near the bookstore. They had nothing gf available and the cashier did not know when the gf blueberry option would arrive- they opened at 7am and it was already 7:30. After researching, I decided to go to Rosewater Market. Best decision EVER!!!!!!! I did not have a long wait since it was early Sunday morning. Many gf options including banana bread, assorted pastries, and the most amazing looking scones! I ordered the egg sandwich on gf bread and it was perfect! I also purchased a fruit cup that was fresh and sweet with blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe and pineapple. The guy who took my order even spelled my name correctly-that rarely happens! They also offered a number of other items including sandwiches, chia pudding, salads and all sorts of delicious looking items! If you are hungry and looking for outstanding food and service, this is the place to go! Tell them Callie from SC...
