I checked in Dec 16th and planned on staying three days/nights then checking out the 19th. Unfortunately I didn’t get that far into my stay before my puppy got sick. The first night was okay no issues the room was small but better than I expected. The next morning my puppy ate his food and started to play around for a bit on the floor. I then put him on the bed to have him rest for a bit and that’s when he started to whine a lot then he started to drool profusely. His heart rate was beating fast this was the first time I have seen him act this way so I rushed him to the vet. While driving there his condition worsened. I was in a panic by the time the vet staff took him away. Not sure how long it took but when the staff came back they told me he ate an opiate!! They gave him the drug that reverses the effects of an opiate and it worked everything went back to normal, quickly. I was shocked!! I would’ve never thought that he would’ve gotten into something at the motel that would cause him to have an overdose and maybe die. Everything seemed clean when I first entered the room other than maybe smelling a bit musty, but I should’ve known from the surroundings that the people around the motel do drugs, and unfortunately, my puppy got into something where he was able to access drugs in this motel!! I then went back to cancel the rest of the days and nights (while the vet staff looked over my puppy for about six hours to make sure he was ok) that I was planning on staying and tried to get a refund from the night that I spent there, unfortunately I was told I couldn’t because I had already spent the night there, but they did refund me the rest of the days. I then called corporate to file a complaint. I now have vet bills to pay charges from the ER visit and all the things that were done to him while being watched for six hours to make sure that he was going to be okay. He also received the drug to reverse the opiate effects twice. Corporate was ok at first, but I was told that I have to contact the managers from this motel. They’ve been hard to get a hold of. I’ve already emailed them the records of my vet bills so that they can reimburse me and compensate me for these charges, but I haven’t heard back from them. I’m also getting the runaround and I was told by one manger I didn’t leash my dog and that I left him for 12 minutes in the room according to their surveillance cameras. My dog is four months old I can’t have him walking around so I held him then place him in the room that I thought was safe and clean. He also doesn’t have all his vaccines, that’s my fault for trust a motel 6 in the first place. I probably shouldn’t have stayed there, but I also gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking that they had remodeled this motel, but they’re still accepting drug users. They need to do a better job of not letting drug users into their rooms. There’s also a lot of homeless people hanging around in the front of the motel. I called today January 14, 2025 to ask for the manger and I was told by a very rude receptionist to go get a lawyer once I asked her if they received my vet bill info they asked for! Wow great customer...
Read moreThis place is dirty, unsafe, unreliable and not pet friendly. We watched a guy get arrested outside our window after he dry heaved right outside our door, we had to call security because of harassment by the "locals" and there was pet poo everywhere.
For being a motel that caters to people with pets, this Motel 6 made our stay extremely difficult. We traveled to California to spend Christmas with a family member who was dying and we spent more time waiting for our rooms to be cleaned than with the family.
We were told that our pets and our selves could NOT be in the room while cleaning, so I requested that our room just not be cleaned, apparently this is not an option. Rooms must be cleaned. We spent time every day driving around with our cats in the car because we were given no other choice. In addition, there are no "Do not disturb" signs. Even if we were to leave our pets in the room, the cleaning ladies would have no way of knowing not to let them out.
Our neighbors we extremely loud and would sing, yell, burp, and spit at all hours of the night. People would throw still lit cigarettes into the dry, southern California shrubbery, and let their pets poo all over the sidewalk, this let to stepping in it.
There was a large family staying a few doors down. This was not a problem until the two young adults started harassing us for cigarettes and asking if "we smoked dope." They would sit outside our room on the stairs and heckle us as we would transport our pets to the car, waiting for our room to be cleaned. It became so aggressive that security had to be called. We did not feel safe having other "guests" watch our every exit and entrance into the room.
My last problem with this motel is that my girlfriend's father was checking in a few days after my self in the middle of the night, having flown in after work. Though my girlfriend was one of the three adults listed in the room and had the same last name she was not aloud to check into the room. And had to wait hours for him to arrive. This was highly inconvenient and unappreciated, and we were not even aloud to have adjoining rooms even though we booked well in advance. I will not...
Read moreI hope this review will be seen as a good training moment for staff members. We checked into the hotel Friday August 29th for a two night stay while visiting family. It was a better value than most but still very expensive for a two night stay ay $393 given the condition. When we went to our room there was a slight smell of urine. My husband went to request another room. Our request was accommodated but this is where things went south. The new room had such a strong smell of smoke when I opened the door I didn't even go in. It was disgusting!! Now both my husband and I know some people will do whatever they want such as smoke in a non smoking room. My husband went back to the desk to try again and was told his money would be refunded. He respectfully said we wanted a room not a refund. The attendant then pointed to a sign stating they can refuse a room to anyone. This person said "I know you are just going to complain and get your money back so I am going to just refund your money." My husband kept trying to ask for a room but gave up and came and told me. I found this incredibly upsetting not only because my husband is one of the nicest and non aggressive people I know but also because I didn't feel we had done anything to deserve that reaction. As a business person I would be pretty upset if someone I employed gave away business so easily. Ultimately I convinced her to give us another room. If we had the time I would have relocated to another hotel but simply didn't have the time as we were already behind schedule. Personally I thought it was pretty bad we paid so much for a room we had to beg for that didn't have a clock or coffee pot and was completely run down BUT I do realize our experience with the staff member put a negative spin on the stay. Hopefully this is seen as an area of opportunity and no I do not want...
