FIRST TIME EATER!

Went on a work lunch with 2 other amazing ladies to Sushi Yama today - first time ever going here even though its literally walking distance from my office. However I will TOTALLY be back.

We had amazing service from Amber. She was super attentive and nice, quick, efficient and catered to any request we had.

The food was AMAZING! I eat pretty healthy and so I am always aware that I could easily eat 15 sushi rolls and be stoked about it but I need to be strategic.

Their menu is online and was available for me to check out prior to arriving. I knew exactly what I wanted and it came out even better than I anticipated.

I am not sure why I haven't been there before but it will definitely be a return.

It was so delicious I literally just asked my husband if he wanted to go tonight on a date night!

I'm pretty understanding considering I work in the industry; However, tonight I was blown away by the horrible customer service. I first ordered two rolls which the server rang one of them up wrong. No biggie I just waited while they fixed it. I took a couple bites and got a fish bone stuck in my gum so I told the server I would pass on the roll and if I could please get my check. As she went to the back, I stacked the plates because that is something I always do to help the servers clean up the table and prebus. They took the plates to the back and I could hear them asking each other if they seen anything. Sure enough one of the girls brought out the stack of plates and it's dropping on the floor and asked me to look for the bone.😂 I was in disbelief like are you really questioning my statement? Very nice sushi restaurant in Escondido. Appreciated the service the most but the food was good and they offered 50% off rolls. We started with the Pan Fried Gyozs which is basically dumplings with sesame ponzu which came out fast and was so good!!

For rolls we got a bunch and they were all good!!! We got the (1) Escondido (my favorite) which was shrimp tempura, crab, cucumber, tuna, salmon, eel, avo, topped with spicy aioli, eel sauce, & potato crunches; (2) The Centipede which was shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber, topped with avocado & balsamic glaze; (3) Orange County which was spicy crab, cucumber, topped with salmon, avocado, and yuzu essence, and finally a standard crunchy roll which was shrimp tempura, crab, cucumber, tempura flakes and soy glaze
