I stayed at the Edelweiss Inn for the first time. I came to town for the Scooting The Ozarks scooter rally. While I am not rich by any means, I am picky about where I choose to stay, without spending an arm and leg for temporary lodging. After looking at many hotels and motels, some within my budget and many with steep prices, I called the night before and made a reservation for three nights over the phone. I was able to check in about an hour early. Robert, the owner was very friendly and extra helpful. He helped me by disconnecting my U-Haul motorcycle trailer and placing it in a parking spot when I said I didn’t know how to reverse with the trailer. The night before I checked out, he helped me again. He reconnected the trailer and even helped me put the straps back on my scooter. Talk about going above and beyond. When I checked in, Robert gave me a map of the area with many food recommendations. The night before I left he also gave me some navigation advice on how to get out of town efficiently. When I was given the key to the room, he did a walk through of the room with me and everything was up to standard. I hadn’t experienced that before and it surely was refreshing. Now about the room. I stayed in room 106, the nights. The room was nice and clean. Free of bugs and pests. The bed was comfortable and perfect firmness. The room did not look dated like some of the other options in Eureka Springs. It had a tv with cable, a hidden fridge, microwave, coffee maker- everything listed online was available. There was an also an expandable desk and office chair, plus an armchair. I felt nice and safe, staying here as a single woman. The walls are a little thin, which didn’t bother me and if it did, they even left two sets of ear plugs on the nightstand. How thoughtful and considerate! I tried them out and they worked very well. The shower was nice and hot, the water pressure perfect, and it was very relaxing. I forgot to post my “housekeeping not needed” sign after my first night, so the room was serviced while I was gone. Thank you Rosalee! My room was a 10/10. Something else I remembered. Jeep Jam was taking place at the same time I was there, which I’d known nothing about before. I was driving my Jeep, but it’s not a Wrangler, which almost all of the Jeeps seemed to be. Robert presented me with my first ducky, and I even found 2 more gifted duckies on my windshield before I checked out. I’m sure I’m forgetting other awesome things that happened during my stay, but this review is getting really long. I was not asked to leave a review, but I thought an authentic review was the best compliment I could give. If I come back to Eureka Springs, I’m definitely booking here again. There’s something to be said of a business that is owned and run by people who are kind, remember your name, and genuinely care about you. Thank you Robert and Edelweiss Inn for your...
Read moreI don't want to sound too picky, but I did a significant amount of research to find lodging that I felt confident would meet our needs for a recent trip. Besides great reviews for Edelweiss Inn and favorable location, the aspect that sealed the deal for me to choose them was their website. I really appreciated how the reservation system allowed you to select a specific room, right down to the room number. So many hotel reservation sites don't allow that and say to make a comment about special requests, but then they don't read those requests until you check in. I needed to know 100% that the room I had was going to be on a ground floor and being able to select the EXACT room on their website made that possible.
This is an older property, which is very typical in this area. It has had some facelifts here and there to maintain its vintage charm while still feeling fresh and clean.
I worried about having room neighbors that might take too much of advantage of sitting out on the patio (which was outside of our room door). Fortunately, we were there on days that weren't extremely busy. The first night, we did have to endure a couple that sat out on the sidewalk chairs talking for hours and who also woke at the break of dawn to resume their long conversation right outside of our window. Luckily, the A/C unit fan was loud enough to drown them out. (I'll note that the hotel did provide foam ear plugs in the room as well, although we didn't need to use them.)
Check in was very pleasant, I received a great deal of useful advice, maps, recommendations, etc. This was my first time in ES so it was very helpful to have such expert advice.
They offered a simple, but ample breakfast each day as well.
Overall, you could tell their heart is really into giving a great experience for their lodgers. I would not hesitate recommending...
Read moreI absolutely love this place. We were here 2 years ago and chose this Inn again for this year. The last time we were here we stayed in one of the rooms at the front. There is not much scenery at the front, but the upside is this location allows for easy access to the town. This time we were put in one of the back rooms and I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful deck with comfortable chairs, a fire pit beyond the deck in the back yard and a small wooded area to look at. The owners have gone above and beyond to ensure the most comfortable, charming and emmaculate environment. What's more, they are conscientious of the environment, providing marked disposals for recycling. If I could give them 10 stars I would! Update: a year later. I stand by this review but wanted to add that upon returning, this place still remains one of the most loved and well maintained places we have ever stayed. It is absolutely charming. We witnessed four deer grazing peacefully from the back deck and one was a curious playful baby deer who unwittingly decided to stalk the owner's beautiful gray pet cat. My husband and I watched the scene play out, laughing quietly so as not to interrupt them. The cat, sensing itself being watched, turned and chased the baby deer, who ran like it was being chased by a lion. It recovered quickly because the two came together again to check each other out and we were able to get a picture of them. My husband and I took this trip to celebrate my birthday. This sweet scene was the kind of gift money could never buy. This will always be a sweet and fun memory. I truly...
