Duchess Restaurant — Restaurant in Fairfield

For the first time in many years I am disappointed in my order last night. I ordered from the Duchess Restaurant (Drive In) in Fairfield. I ordered from the Drive In outside area. I ordered a “Big D” with no mayonnaise, just ketchup with lettuce tomato and onion. This came with just ketchup. I also ordered a tuna sandwich on “bread”. The woman ( girl”) asked what kind of bread. Just for your information, there’s a fairly large picture of a sandwich on bread right on the kiosk. I went back and forth repeating what I wanted. ... no tomatoes just lettuce. Well they got the no tomatoes just lettuce right but the tuna sandwich came on a tiny hamburger roll. The sandwich was soggy and not at all what I ordered. Please send to me a gift certificate for the following: Big D Tuna ( this was a tiny tuna so called sandwich) For $5.39 A Big D Cheeseburger for $5.19 Yes I have the receipt. We have eaten at many Duchess restaurants in Connecticut over the past 40 years. Some have been GREAT and some not too good. This Duchess experience WAS THE WORST food we have ever had. We had 2 dinners, the meatloaf and the fried fish. My wife had the meatloaf and it tasted like there was no meat at all in it. It was like eating crackers and spices glued together with a bad gravy type substance. The slices were all burnt black with a canned dog food consistency. I got the 3 piece fish dinner with fries and coleslaw. The fish was extremely overcooked, to the point of being quite dry and rubbery. The fries were also so overdone, that they were dry and tough, possibly fried a second time. Then there was the coleslaw, it was so old that it was turning a shade of light brown and was a wilted, soggy mess. All this garbage for $21.25! We will NEVER eat at this Duchess Restaurant again! at this location the overweight casher with glasses working the drive thru took our money, asked us to pull up & wait for our order, after 30 minutes we went in to ask & were asked for our order number we were never given matter of fact never given a receipt. SAME casher claimed she didnt have our order when she took our money? again I was now ignored by entire staff until I again raised my voice asking about my order, SAME casher AGAIN said she did not have my order I explained you took our money, what did you bill us for? another staff member went to window register & came back with my exact change (odd if they did not have my order) and asked me to reorder at register I swore at her & left. have been hearing more & more bad reviews about this location, this is my 1st bad experience but bad enough I will...
