My recent visit to Spice Club Indian Restaurant in Fairfield, Connecticut, left me thoroughly impressed with the delicious flavors and the culinary diversity they offer.
Chole Bhature: We started our meal with Chole Bhature, and it was simply the best. The Chole was wonderfully seasoned, with just the right balance of spices. The Bhature was perfectly fluffy and golden, just as it should be. This classic North Indian dish set a high bar for the rest of our meal.
Garlic Naan: The Garlic Naan was another highlight. Soft and aromatic, it paired wonderfully with the Chole and other dishes we ordered. The hint of garlic was the perfect touch.
Chicken Dum Biryani: The Chicken Dum Biryani was a revelation. It was prepared perfectly, and what stood out was the fact that they offer both North and South Indian styles. This attention to regional nuances is a testament to their dedication to authentic Indian cuisine.
Chicken Tikka Kebabs: The Chicken Tikka Kebabs were a delightful addition to our meal. The succulent pieces of chicken were marinated and cooked to perfection, resulting in a burst of flavors with every bite.
Beverages: To quench our thirst, we enjoyed Indian beer and Mango Lassi. The Mango Lassi was rich, creamy, and provided a refreshing contrast to the spices in our meal.
Location and Accessibility: Spice Club's location is another plus point. It's conveniently situated, being a 10-minute walk from the Fairfield Metro North station and just a 2-minute drive from the highway. Whether you're a local or passing through, it's easily accessible.
Overall: Spice Club Indian Restaurant has firmly established itself as my go-to place when I'm in Fairfield, Connecticut. The combination of wonderfully seasoned dishes, the option to savor both North and South Indian flavors, and the attention to detail in their preparation make it a standout restaurant. The delightful Chole Bhature, aromatic Garlic Naan, regional specialties, and the selection of beverages all contribute to a memorable dining experience. If you appreciate authentic Indian cuisine, Spice Club should be at the top of your list. It's a culinary gem...
Read moreI had a surprise lunch party planned for my husband at Spice Club. I had about 100+ guests and had an excellent experience with Spice Club from planning to execution.
The owner Sharath Dara was very pleasant to work with and was very accommodating. He catered to all of our specific needs for food choices - vegetarian, jain, vegan - and provided all options for our guests. He made sure to provide all the items on our menu as requested and truly went out of the way to do so. Each and every item was very flavorful and of high quality.
Sharath was very helpful and offered to even assist with the decorations to ensure everything was set up properly and timely. He made sure we were well equipped with all we needed to setup the decorations. The entire restaurant was booked for our party and the ambiance was very welcoming.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent service and absolutely delicious food! We were super happy with everything and our guests enjoyed thoroughly. They praised the service and the food for days!! I had also ordered brunch for next day for about 50 people. The delivery, setup and food again outstanding.
I am very grateful for the excellent experience, service, high quality food and the welcoming atmosphere at Spice Club. I would definitely recommend this place for private parties and...
Read moreThis place should not be allowed to exist. I went there recently with my boyfriend and the staff disregarded me the entire night, only addressing my boyfriend. "Would you like water, sir?". "How was your dinner, sir?". My entree came out 10 mins before his with no explanation and was served to him. I said, that's my order and the server didn't move it. I also ordered naan with mine, but the naan wasn't put on the table until after my boyfriend's order arrived. Absolutely insane. Why go somewhere to be treated like a second-class citizen? It's 2023 and this place should be closed down for it's discriminatory treatment of women. Also, the women's bathroom was disgusting - clearly never cleaned, paint chipping off the door. Just gross. My boyfriend said the men's bathroom was nice.
The food was mediocre at best. My entree came with nothing - no rice, no vegetables and that wasn't explained by the wait staff. They just asked if I wanted bread, but then they served the bread with my boyfriend's meal and I was practically done by then. Also the smallest portion I have ever seen at an Indian restaurant. Four small pieces of chicken. Naan was thin and not tasty. Chicken was overcooked.
I would never go back and never recommend this place. My advice to the restaurant - stop treating women...
