Very nice hotel with nice rooms. If you are looking for a hotel to check in to AFTER their advertised 3 pm time, this hotel is for you. Unfortunately, their front desk staff could use some serious training on customer service. If you are considering using this hotel as a wedding block or for your wedding party, AVOID. My brother got married 10/5/24. We had several rooms booked, including two for the wedding party to get ready in. 10/4/24 was the rehearsal which started at 4:30 at a separate venue. The bride had booked a night for her and the bridesmaids for the evening. We showed up at 3 pm to check in and get ready just to be told that they couldn't get us into a room yet. Finally, by 3:45, they were able to get us checked in. From here, it only got worse. The bride was told very early on via email that we could request for the groomsmen/groom room and the parents of both sides rooms to be put in a queue for early check in. Before considering putting the rooms on the list the front desk staff repeatedly said "we cant guarantee early check in". We got it, I also worked at a hotel and understand there are several constraints related to checking in early. Instead of basically reiterating that we were not going to get an early check in regardless of being put on the list, they should have just put us on the list and told us they would try their best. Thankfully, one of the managers on staff the evening of 10/4/24 said she would take the names of the rooms down and pass it on to the morning staff to let them know we would come down at 7 am to add the rooms to the waitlist. 7 am rolls around - a well rested and rudely charged up front desk woman with a snotty tone says "we don't do early check in" before I am even able to spit out the question. Once I mentioned the manager from the night before passing on a note she quickly said "I got the note. We don't guarantee early check in". OK. I told her I understood and asked that she please put us on the list anyways as the groomsmen were going to need somewhere to get ready if at all possible. While housekeeping was going strong on the rooms outside of the bridal suite, I continued to see rooms being cleaned. Still no word from the front desk. We inquired a couple of times as kindly as we could at the front desk and it almost seemed like the front desk lady just wanted to make us suffer. Eventually when the groom arrived to check in, she stated "you cant check in until 3". The wedding began at 3. He asked if there was an empty room that wasn't a king or a conference room they could just change and take photos in and she immediately shut him down and sent him on his way to wait in the lobby. Thankfully, the other room block at the Courtyard nearby was all granted early check in at 12 pm. A very much better experience than the Hyatt. Eventually, by 1, the head of housekeeping was extremely kind and made a visit to the bridal suite to let us know they were going to get two rooms for us within the next 30 minutes. Within the next 5 minutes, we got the text that we could check in to the wedding party's rooms. No thanks to the front desk. Note - groom had already left for the church at this time but thankfully it gave the bride somewhere to move all of her belongings prior to the wedding. The front desk lady also told my father that he could swap his cards upon checkout the next morning since he didn't have the right card on him. Fast forward to the next morning (10/6) when he went down to swap cards - the same rude lady from the 10/5/24 shift that told him he could swap cards looked him straight in the eye and said "you checked out, you cant change your card". He was at the front desk at that exact moment to check out and change his card. She was persistent in the fact she wouldn't do anything to assist in this effort. She was the most rude human being I have ever seen in a customer service role. Don't book this hotel expecting a 3 pm check in - it will not be honored. Absolutely don't book your important wedding rooms here - go to the Courtyard nearby. Expect very...
Read moreI'm no longer culture shock about how bad customer service is for the most parts of USA compared to other countries, but Hyatt Fishers...they're something else. I wanna give them a benefit of the doubt that perhaps it's an Indiana culture, (sorta like the people in New York), or perhaps it's something to do with the tornadoes...
The moment I stepped into my hotel room, something already felt off. When I came in my room someone else was already there. She wasn’t an intruder; she was another guest, waiting for maintenance to fix the TV. “Are you staying here?” I asked, confused that I may have booked a hostel although I know hostel in USA isn't popular. She laughed, explaining that she was being moved to another room with a working TV. That was supposed to be a relief, right? Except maintenance never came for me.
I approached the front desk the next day, where two employees—one black lady with braids and another latino with a slight accent—listened to my complaints and decided to move me to a new room, #507. Maybe this time things would be different. They weren’t. The TV was still broken, the ceiling had cobwebs (see image attached) , and the dust on the sofa was even worse. Confused why they moved me to another room that has the same issue.?... Down to the front desk again, where this time only the guy with the accent remained. He was visibly annoyed as I explained that my new room had the same issues. He promised he’d call maintenance, but after two hours of waiting, no one came.
The following day, I followed up again. “No more rooms available,” he said. In which I replied that I didn’t need a new room—I just needed a functioning TV. He fed me the same excuse about calling maintenance, but at this point, it was obvious that was never happening.
There was this nice guest I've met on the first day I checked in. He offered to swap TVs or even the Chrome Cast device that the hotel uses for streaming applications. At this point, I didn't care about the TV anymore. It was about principle. My mind was set to make someone take responsibility and to get things done. I picked up the phone, dialed and called what I thought was the front desk, hoping to lay on them a solution but I was only to be directed straight to the assistant manager’s voicemail. I laid out my frustration in that voicemail, hoping that someone in management would step up. No response.
When checkout day arrived, my TV was still not functioning, the cobwebs were still clinging to the ceiling, and the dusty sofa still sat there like a trap for anyone with allergies. No apology, no effort to make things right.
I have stayed at a hostel with better service than this place! Dusty room and cobwebs on the ceiling, non functioning TV and the worse is the font desk people are crazy!
P.S if there's a consolation prize the housekeeping changes my towel every single day. At least I feel clean knowing that I am drying myself with a fresh towel. But please check the back of the dresser where the TV stands. There's a collection of trash there from unopened candy to condom wrapper but I'm grateful that no old food that is decaying or molding! (oh I wish I took a picture)
Feedback: Fire the two personnel there ( the black lady with long hair and the latino guy who were working there between 1200-2000 between 01June25-05June25, AND NO this isn't race thing, I'm Asian) or at least teach them a lesson or have a functioning TV or working facility so they don't have to find a solution because they're acting like they don't get paid enough to relay the problem to the...
Read moreThe rooms are big/modern and pretty clean. I suggest a high floor room facing the city if you like people watching or a view of the city at night. The TV is bigger than most hotels and you can access any of your streaming services like Netflix from your phone to broadcast to it. There is storage for an extended stay, a fridge but no freezer or microwave.
The morning breakfast is hot and fresh with 8 different cereals to choose from, juices, yogurt, bagels, toast, eggs, fresh oatmeal, sometimes potatoes, and meat along with fruit and other things.
Every staff member I came across was very friendly and customer service is what makes you feel like home when you’re away from home. I had a problem with one employee twice. Once when trying to switch my room type, I was told instantly, “The hotel is fully booked.” I could see online there were many rooms with the beds I was looking for. After inquiring online I received an apology from the hotel saying they switched my room for me. I had asked for a later check out on my reservation and it hadn’t been added, so I asked a man at the front desk nicely what time check out was and when he said 12. Ya asked if I could please have a later checkout and he immediately said, “The hotel is fully booked. The best I can do is 12:30.” I went back to my room and found many rooms available and not fully booked. Customer service contacted him and he called my room and said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were a Discoverist status. You can check out at 2 or 3 if you would like.” I think management should implement a courtesy policy of looking in the computer before telling ANY guest anything about their stay. I was lied to when taking a moment to look in the computer could have been an easy enough response. I don’t know if I don’t “look” or sound like I have the ability to afford to have stayed a week in Hyatt hotels over the past month already, or what the problem is… I’m trying not to have one person ruin my opinion of this hotel, but it did.
Suggestion: ONLY get the king beds. The king beds I think are newer. They were so comfortable past stays recently. My first time getting 2 queen beds they were uncomfortable. The weight of my body sunk the bed down so my feet were higher up. We tried this on both mattresses in room 434. Other then that our room was nice. Housekeeping does not speak English and does not know shampoo, conditioner or towels in English if you ask for them. They still do a good job with the rooms.
I enjoyed the indoor pool. It has a smooth bottom and steps so it’s soft on your feet. It isn’t warm, but there is a shower outside of the pool you can warm up in. The pool towels are...
