We came for New Year's Eve and were very pleased with the overall experience. Mort was an excellent host and made us feel incredibly welcome. He is very professional. Wish we could say the same for our server (age 22?, brown ponytail, nose ring), who made very inappropriate comments about getting drunk and taking shots of vodka, and who also told us she was tired and ready to go home when she greeted our table ----AFTER we waited around 10 minutes to be greeted. Also, she sat down at our booth a few times, (4 people sitting already, mind you), which made us very uncomfortable. I don't expect her to have a job here much longer. Aside from her, we are excited to come back and give it another try!
Came back again on Tuesday, March 3rd. Laura (or Lauren?) greeted us at the door, but really acted like she was not happy that we walked in. As it turns out, I was right that she was annoyed. I connected the dots when the manager on duty came by to take our orders, and informed us that the restaurant was in the middle of a shift change and that Lauren had been there all day, so he would be helping out. Now, why are we always being told about the server's need for a break? This is only my second time visiting, and if you read my first review, you'll notice that the server we had was also not in the mood to work. Strange customer service. It's TMI for guests. I do not need to know about the employee schedule when I come in to eat. It made me feel like our table was a burden. Other than that, the food is excellent. I had the potato and cheese pierogies, which were the best I've ever had. We also had the chicken shwarma, also amazing, and the salmon BLT, which was actually quite fishy. I WILL be back, because I am confident they will work out these awkward kinks in customer service, and because the food is off-the-charts delicious! The manager who took care of our table was very attentive, kind, and professional. So they have a good foundation; just need to tighten up on customer...
Read moreSadly we did not have the experience we hoped for with this restaurant. For starters, as a table of 7 people there should never be one person left wondering where their food is for 10 minutes while 6 others eat nearly half of their food. Mind you the remaining 6 felt pretty awkward as well. When the server came to check on the people who were eating, I was asked if “he” came and gave me a rundown on my food to which I replied no and she walked away. Shortly after that “he” showed up to tell me that my food didn’t meet their expectations and was being remade. When my food did come out it didn’t look anything like the food on either side of me, which was the same order. It seems odd that I waited 10+ extra minutes because the chef is so particular but our entrees were definitely not the same quality. Top that off with lack of refills, long wait time for requested items (they weren’t busy) and when we got dessert the server came to check on us, only the person next to me didn’t receive her dessert. When bringing us the bill, their idea of correcting this situation was to give a card for a free appetizer at our next visit. When this was brought to their attention the server stated she’d get the manager (Brad?). His response wasn’t stellar. He took the food and took it off the bill as he was giving multiple excuses and offered another free appetizer.... at our next visit. I’m sorry but when spending 3 digits on a meal that goes this poorly, who actually expects a return visit? The hospitality was lacking. There was no ownership or communication for errors made and no real attempt to give good customer service. Communication would’ve made all the difference in the world. To end the experience, the server couldn’t get away fast enough when dropping the corrected check that we didn’t even get a “have a good night” before leaving. There’s way too much competition out there to give less than great...
Read moreWe always love dining here! Their crispy lemon chicken is a standing favorite on their ever changing menu (we love the sauce! Should have twice as much imo 😉). We have had many of their seasonal offerings that are great. We recently had filets with a pesto sauce and they were cooked perfectly and everything was so tasty (I think it had a base of horseradish mashed potatoes? Yum!) We have had the filet as a side, and it was great and perfectly cooked to order. Their wings were amazing when we had them. The burger is a good stand by and the beer cheese soup! I sadly don't have pictures of all the amazing food, but I have some (the beer cheese soup, a side of tuna, and a brunch offering that was great). Go! You will not be disappointed. And don't forget to save room for their butter cake! Our favorite version is the Blueberry one (even over the banana's foster 🥲). The only drawback is that their tap water tastes funny to me, but they have a great draft list, so just drink beer 😋
November 2023 update: Came back for the 101 Burger, ale and Chedder soup and bananas foster butter cake (pictured). The fries were not as good as I remembered... rather bland. But everything else was really good. We loved the beers (Winter solstice and the Dunkel). And our waitress Lacy was amazing (as always 😊). AND! I am happy to announce that the water tastes better! (That is to say, normal). Still recommend the...
