Went to this restaurant last night for a work dinner with people from my office. There were 12 of us, but we all work in customer service so we know what it means to be polite and patient so we werent being loud and obnoxious or difficult. Our server disappeared for half an hour before taking our dinner order, I ordered a simple classic Manhattan, a standard drink that has been around for a hundred years and they had to ask me how to make it after bringing me the wrong drink (who puts salt and lime on a Manhattan?) Half of us got the wrong food brought out, but at this point we were just so hungry that we didn't care and took it. The place was dead, there were only about 3 or 4 other tables, so there was no reason for this. If it had been busy I would have been more understanding but it was a Sunday night and it was DEAD. To top it all off, one of the girls with us accidentally left her purse behind at the table. After noticing this, she called the restaurant and asked about it, she was told they didn't see it anywhere and she would have to check back in the morning, she told them she was heading back that night and wanted to see video. They called her back and like some kind of magic they had "found" her purse, in the trash can of the ladies room which is "usually where they find them when this happens" I'm sorry this has happened before? Multiple times?! She had all of the cash stolen from her wallet and was told if another patron was responsible there was nothing they could or would do, but only the owner could review video so she has to wait. This restaurant is in an upscale neighborhood with luxury apartments right above them and this is the best they can do when one of their customers gets robbed?! No apology, no shame, nothing, just sorry bout cha! I will never come back here. And if you don't want your purse stolen, neither should you. ...
Read moreStopped in for the first time last Wednesday around 3:30. We loved the food and the FIRST round of margaritas, but there were a few hiccups that need some attention. First, the booth was covered in chips when we were sat, so I cannot truthfully say it was clean, but the interior is beautiful and comfy. Second, and this is the main concern, after we ordered our margaritas, a few minutes later another server brought us the same drinks again, but we did not order them; the ticket was just mistakenly remade at the bar. So instead of just giving them to us for free, as it was their mistake, they brought them back over to the server station, where they sat for 10 minutes. I know how long because we were sitting in the booth directly next to the bar's server station. Then, 10 minutes later when we did order another round, she brought us the drinks that had been sitting there! They were melting all over the place, sloppy with salt, and very watered down. When we mentioned it to her, she said, "oh yeah, but they are still good." I was really really disappointed in this. We are not confrontational so we just drank them and paid for them. The thing is, our server greeted us in the beginning and raved about how everything was so fresh, yet she served us our margaritas after they had been sitting and collecting water for 10 minutes. Also, the server knocked our water carafe off the table and it shattered everywhere, and all over my feet!
So, there are some service issues that need worked out, but the food and space is wonderful so I'll be back. The tacos and margaritas are fantastic! We had the Mahi Mahi, Carne Asada, and Pork Carnita tacos, plus the guac, which was very chunky and fresh, and the salsa. The chips were perfectly crisp and salty and the margs were the best I've...
Read moreService - Hostess - the moment we walked in the door, the hostess was standing in the corner, scrolling through her phone, completely oblivious to us standing there. After several minutes we started talking louder just to get her attention. She was like a deer in the headlights, shocked that we were standing there waiting. Table - we were seated outside at our request. The table was dirty from where the previous salsa bowl had been. But not just one ring of dried salsa, but several. Server - very nice, but no personalized service. Just, what can I get you to drink; what’s your order? She was very sweet, but there just wasn’t much to her service. Never offered to bring another bottle of water. I asked for an extra napkin to wipe up some spilled salsa, she never brought it etc. Food - The food wasn’t bad, but it was bland. I think it needed salt. The chips were bland and thick. I was eating them because I was hungry and kept asking, why am I eating these? We both got tacos. They looked really pretty, but they took lacked salt. The best thing I had was the shrimp in the tacos. Everything definitely needed salt though. My husband got a Coors light in the bottle. It was barely cold. You could tell from looking at the bottle that there was no condensation on the bottle when it was brought outside in the warm air. Bathrooms - my husband went to the men’s bathroom prior to us getting our food. He said there was water all over the floor and the bathroom was a mess. He told someone about it. About 30 - 45 minutes later he went back and nothing had been cleaned up. He left without using the restroom...
