Skimming the reviews earlier I saw the top reviewer complaining about a lack of hot water. I figured that couldn't possibly be right — there must be something more to that story — so I got the room, move my stuff in, go to take a shower, and lo...there's no hot water. It's barely warm after running for 5+ minutes and never improved beyond that. Was told by the front desk that sometimes during "peak hours" you need to run it for 5-10 minutes. ("Peak hours" like 9 pm on a weekday I guess.) Running it didn't help, and I'm wondering how much better I can realistically expect it to be in the morning.
Unlike other reviewers, I've had no problem with the cleanliness of the room so far. Indeed it's a lovely room so far. It is on the interstate, which only really registered with me once I sat down in bed, but I have earplugs and shit, and at any rate this was fairly obvious from the map so not sure what ppl expect. Can't speak to the floor noise issue as I mercifully have no one around me. Nor sure what ppl are on about with the area being unsafe — seems like a pretty run-of-the-mill interstate exit commercial strip with little in the way of ambient pedestrians or loiterers — tho I will update this review in the morning if my car is broken into I guess. Overall thought the room would be quite nice if it had hot water. But a hot shower is precisely why I get hotel rooms, and why I don't just sleep in rest area parking lots like I did when I was 20. I am literally paying you $80 for hot water and a private bathroom. Like that is specifically what I am paying for.
I have several other nitpicks about how they present their pricing on their website but nothing that really rises to the level of being worth mentioning here, since the hot water issue makes...
Read moreThe room we had (Grand Canyon Suite) was great. I am not giving 5 stars overall bc the place is a little bit run down and I am not sure how the other rooms compare. I think we had one of the best rooms. Our room was incredibly spacious, clean, 2 double beds and a sofa bed which was great for the 5 of us. the bathroom was brand new, with 2 synchs and a separate shower and toilet room. The breakfast was ok, but sufficient to get you going. You have to ask for the sandwiches in the reception and then they bring them to you. They were breakfast burrito (with eggs) or a bagel with scramble eggs. Otherwise the breakfast room has cereal, different kinds of breads you can toast and some fruits, all of which you can take right away, only the sandwiches need pre-ordering. I felt bad for the poor young lady working in the reception because she was the only one taking the orders and running back and forth to the kitchen to get the sandwiches and then give them to the folks who ordered. All while still attending the front desk, the calls, and cleaning up/refilling items in the breakfast room. I don't remember her name, but she was very kind, never lost her cool regardless of the many folks asked her for things and multitasking so much. GreenTree staff, she needed help!!! Location is great, across the street from Walmart and some restaurants and clos to the highway (but not too close where you hear it or anything). No frills place, but I would definitely...
Read moreTLDR: This was booked in April 2025 before the reviews took a nosedive. Had we seen some of the more recent reviews, we would have booked elsewhere.
The check in process was very easy. The young woman at the counter was helpful and courteous.
The room itself was very spacious and you could tell the sheets and towels had been bleached. Unfortunately, this is where the “positives” end. The room was disgusting. The shower had black mold growing in the crevices and there was dried coffee dripping down the wall. The door was also disgusting. These things alone were concerning but the worst part was the “blood” smears down the wall that looked like a horror movie had been filmed recently.
While checking out, the woman at the desk (Becca) was completely monotone and simply took a scrap of paper to write our concerns - presumably just to appease us. These were clearing not taken seriously as her notes read “coffee on wall?” and “room is “gross”” - despite showing her the pictures below. She also mentioned that housekeeping deep cleans ONE. ROOM. EACH. WEEK. and that she would recommend that our room (127) be on the list next. When I asked if the hotel was under new management (as a way to explain the recent reviews) she said that yes, it was and that they were “still working out the kinks”. There was no apology given for any of the issues nor any emotion/sympathy that you would expect from...
