I go there for the food and definitely NOT the service. Honestly, I've been to multiple Cafe Rio restaurants and I love their food!! Haven't tasted anything bad there ever. The only thing I can say about this particular location is a majority of their staff, and I say a majority because there are a few gems there who are outstanding, but the majority of the staff gives piss poor service on the food line. It doesn't take much to give good service there honestly..a simple smile and listening and filling customers orders as requested. It's like pulling teeth trying to get the staff to actually give me a full portion of the food I order. They tend to skimp on all of the ingredients unless you ask for them to give you enough and don't even think about ordering online, because they will do the same thing and not give all of the things you ask for, even if they cost more and you pay for them. I feel like I'm babysitting someone who should know how to do their job and read and fill an order. The managers are great at correcting their employees mistakes and are generous, but what they should do is consider replacing their lackluster staff for people who actually look and seem like they're thankful that they have a job and take...
Read moreWe were rushed through line, not able to really see what we wanted to put on our tacos. When I say "rushed" it was much faster than the usual trying to get people through the line during the lunch rush. When I tried to ask an employee who was the manager on duty to suggest slowing down a bit and letting customers really see what they want, she snapped at me "why?" I tried to suggest slowing down a bit and she stated that they had a lot of customers other than myself, and implied with tone and words that it wasn't all about me. I tried to explain that it was faster than the usual "fast" for lunch rush and she quickly dismissed me and said she'd pass it along and turned away and left me mid trying to have a conversation with her. Rude! We were charged for items we didn't know were extra due to no signage as well as not getting some of what we ordered. To be treated like a number or a "Karen" for these prices, not worth it! I live an hour and a half away and have sent many people that I know here to eat, bragging about the place. I'm not just a number but someone referring people to Cafe Rio. Perhaps treating everyone as if they are good advertising is a smarter way to...
Read moreWe've eaten at CRM's in California and Arizona. This CRM is below par. Let me explain why, but first is the shining 🌟 star that upped my rating, and I'm so sorry for not remembering the cashiers name (she has long braided hair and a genuine smile and wirks nights) . Her personality is positive, and she makes you feel like you're important; leaving you with a smile on your face even though you leave hungry due to small portions.
Portions are dismal. The staff is so concerned with not putting too much of any given item, especially the meat, that it slows down the line.
The food taste is on par with CRM. Always the beans and rice leave you 😒. That's a chain issue and not this restaurant.
The tables are sticky, but the chairs are not, which means it's not the funky paint that's on them. Leaves you feeling like it's dirty, and actually, you can not tell if it's clean or not.
The parking lot is dark to the point of being unsafe. There's a parking lot light, but it's been off every time we've eaten there.
Sadly, we'll not be eating here due to the...
