TeppanFuji Restaurant — Restaurant in Flagstaff

This place is trash. The tables weren't cleaned when we sat down even though the place settings were there. I got the teriyaki chicken dinner which is a staple for any Japanese food establishment, even one that is clearly ran by Chinese staff but whatever not a crime. What was a culinary crime was that dried out flavorless mess of chicken teriyaki dinner! Also served with steamed broccoli on the side for some reason and on a bed of.. wait for it.. chop suey vegetables. The while dish was a pseudo-Japanese albeit a clearly Chinese badly done replica with components, textures and flavor profiles that were as inaccurate and poorly executed as they were horrible. Theu sushi rice was half cooked tasted day old and crunchy but the cuts of fish themselves were the saving grace to the sushi dish as they were on par with any grocery store and/or run of the mill airport kiosk sushi. Unfortunately for TeppanFuji the only way this place can be related to Japanese food or culture, is its efficiency in ticket times. From order to table it took 13 minutes on average which is not bad, the problem is the well timed food you get is walmart unseasoned proteins and half done rice on slopingly confusing dishes managed by a frazzled front of the house staff. Bottom line TeppanFuji is an OVERPRICED strip mall copy of UNDER DONE poorly replicated Japanese food.They rely solely on their location and lack of similar eateries in order to standout and depend heavily on the flash of the teppanyaki grill flames and “grill master” theatrics in order to ply your wallet for what is essentially strip mall Chinese food. TeppanFuji should change there name to Sushi off the 40 or FlagSuey it would be more accurate that way. SAVE YOUR MONEY, KEEP DRIVING PASSED...

went there for lunch All you can eat sushi rice taste like they don't know how to cook. I am Asain I eat rice in dairy basic and I am a big fan of Japanese food specially sushi and sashimi. I have been to all Japanses place in Flagstaff this place was the most disappointed about how they cook rice and poor quality of sashimi. wasabi dosen't tasted like wasabi you should feel spice up to your head and maybe tears if you have it too much but doesn't matter how much I try, nothing happen servers dosen't seem like they loved thier job. They were seem to be busy with side jobs (only few tables at that time I can count it 3 at that moment) Its seem like we all bother him so much everytime we call him to order some more (we had all you can eat we can order many rounds as long as we eat it all) and even worse when another server come to our table instead he took paper order from us then smashing it really hard on the sushi counter (we can see from where we sit) the servers had some face and actions that made us feel fear to order anything else since it all you can eat but we were just stop ordered because of servers. I have to go buy water somewhere else when we get out of the restaurant because I didn't want to bother them to refilled my cup but we still gave them 20% tips (18% were already charged on our bill) and we sign another 2% more for them because we know this will be our first last experience in this restaurant and hope that can make servers love thier job a...

SLOW, UNORGANIZED, CROWDED & UNABLE TO COMMUNICATE. Went to get pick-up food & had to go inside. Was nervous. The lobby was full. I stood in the corridor. Took too long for seating so I stood outside in the cold looking in. Waiting for the host to see all the groups. Went back inside and now the hostess was nowhere. Saw full tables. 2 tables of young people playing drinking games, talking loud &* laughing mask-less. I envisioned the videos I saw of saliva going in a 2 D cloud. I went back outside. Saw her come back so went back inside. Told her about my order. She said what did you order? Idk but it's under "----". She says 5 min. I go back outside. Wait then call. Ask her if my order is ready & I don't feel comfortable standing in the full capacity restaurant. She asks me the same questions. She said 5 min. I wait another 5 min. I go back inside. She asks me SAME questions like she has never seen me. I said I just saw you and talked to you over the phone! YDL! Now I am steaming. I am ready to cancel my order and she brings it up under...what do you know "----" She says give me 5 min! YDL! Originally it was 15 minutes now it's going on 30 min. I heard someone coughing and it was the young partying group and so I ran outside. Ok, no more inside pickups! YDL to the nth degree!
