If this is the number one rated hotel in Florence, AL I hate to see the others. It is falling apart at the seams. They are currently undergoing a renovation which is super noisy and the hotel and its elevators are super dirty; they should have closed down during renovations if they cannot manage it any better than this. The loud construction noise and loud music from the workers make for an unpleasant stay. The hotel's redeeming quality is most of their staff is super sweet and helpful. My stay was unbearable and when I asked the manager Vickie to come to my room and hear the construction noise and music that I was hearing she would not come and said she would send someone else but never did, I guess they were not interested. She said they remained open because "they have to make money" (seriously!?)I guess they are willing to do that at the expense of paying customers' peace. The hotel is occupied by a large group of workers and I had noise complaints about them on my floor as well. Calling the Hilton Honors desk was no better, some lady named Michelle called the property for me but then came back and asked if I wanted them to stop construction because they couldn't (really chick!?) I wanted someone concerned about where my room was in relation to the noise and why I was having to listen to loud Tejano music. I guess due to the lack of competition in the area they can operate on this level of unconcern. I also had furniture panels fall apart in my room in addition to moulding around the floor, when maintenance showed up while I was out of the room they left their hand held radio on the sofa in a totally different part of the room from where he...
Read moreOriginally, I picked out this hotel because it’s close to the family cemetery for grave decoration and it has a pool. However, our first day down south (we live in Detroit), a tree fell on our car while driving on the trace. Being so far from home, car-less for a few days, this place became like home. The front desk staff understood our situation and actually cared, when we had to add more days onto our stay. The kitchen staff for breakfast was outstanding. Ritritcha (I don’t know if I spelled that right) was seriously the best most welcoming face to see in the morning. By the way, the breakfast was amazing and different every morning. The housekeeping staff was super friendly. Taura left us extra soaps and towels with a cute note! Our last day there, the groundskeeper even opened the pool early for me so I could have one last quick dunk. Everything about this hotel was the most accommodating, thank you to all of the staff that helped turn a crisis into feeling like we were at home.
I highly recommend this hotel. It’s walking distance to everything and some of the staff became like a temporary family. Pool, sun deck, gym, free breakfast. This hotel really was sweet home Alabama for...
Read more5 stars isn't enough, I need one thousand more!! I was faced with trying to find shelter for two involuntary displaced women (mother and daughter,) and the Staff at this hotel made all of the difference! These ladies didn't ask anything of me, and they were facing many obstacles, but the first issue to tackle was shelter for the night. Not knowing what to do, I tried to secure lodging for them, at least for the night, and was immediately turned down by the first hotel I asked. Hampton Inn was my second and last stop. I explained the situation to the manager, Vickie, and without hesitation, was able to book them for the night. Vickie, Diane, Bonnie, Melanie, Sabrina, and Logan are ANGELS!!! One night turned into four and all of these people helped me, help these ladies!! They all went above and beyond to make sure these ladies were treated with kindness and respect! I know this from dealing with them myself, as well as Momma (that's what I call her now)states. Being turned down by the first hotel was nothing but a blessing!! I expressed my gratitude to each one of these staff members, and I thank the Hampton Inn for having employed these...
