I called to talk to someone about getting a room and he was very rude and he’s not the regular night. Audit is normally a woman but now it’s a man and he is very rude. He act like he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and when I try to tell him that on the website for the third-party it says that I can get a room he’s telling me no and then he is deliberately refusing to even look at his computer to see if there were any rooms open I asked can I book for Friday and Saturday and can I do a early check-in he said that they were sold out on the third-party. It said that they were sold out but when I looked again, it said that they had one room left. I called him. I asked him and then he proceeded to say yeah we don’t have a room open and I’m like yes you guys do can you at least check and he said no and he didn’t even try to help me at all the lady that was there during the night. She’s very helpful very understanding and honestly, she makes more money for the hotel because sometimes if I don’t even have the time to get a room, I still pay and they get free money but for him to be very rude to me. I told him I don’t get off until very late in the morning, is there anyway for me to check in early because I won’t have nowhere else to stay until I go to work the next day instead of him being helpful like the lady he was very rude and very dismissive. All I wanted to do was pay for a room for Friday and Saturday and come in early for early check-in around 3 o’clock and if I had to pay a little extra like $20, I would’ve done that but for him to just deliberately put me out without even trying to check to see if there was any rooms because normally They do have rooms that be open they just have to go and look, but since some of them want to be lazy they will tell someone know so they don’t have to go check So I’m letting it be known now I’m gonna be doing more reviews if the night staff don’t get it together it’s not the women it’s the men tell them to know their job description and to know what to do and to also be helpful to the customer because everybody don’t have a place to stay and everybody don’t have The money like that, but when we have the exact amount of money that you guys need for us to even get a room at least be grateful and not be rude and dismissive when we have the money for you And I hope he reads this and I hope his manager reads this. He needs to get off night shift and he needs to be during the day. also, I think it’s very silly that when his 12 o’clock midnight in the brand new day starts you guys don’t let people book and you make them pay extra money or try to make them pay extra money which that’s what the guy tried to make me do, but I’m very smart. I think it’s very silly that you guys make it a mission to not let people do an early check-in if they say they want to pay a extra $20 for early check-in why are you guys trying to make them pay $81 plus $81 oh well if you wanna do an early check and you have to pay for two days...
Read moreOur stay over-all wasn’t terrible. It’s a place ultimately just to lay your head. We’ve stayed here in the past & liked it enough to give it another shot this trip. It’s not in the greatest location. Definitely a little seedy, but we never felt unsafe. There were definitely a few things that were quite off putting. The floor felt like it hadn’t been swept or mopped in months. I put a pair of white socks on my daughter when she got out of the bath & by the time she walked to the bed, they were BLACK. Not exaggerating. They were filthy. I threw them away & everyone wore their shoes except when they were in bed or in the tub. The hallway smelled like someone was cooking a full meal of Indian food 24/7. While I am a huge fan of the cuisine, it was concerning in a hotel with no kitchenettes. Breakfast was gone by 7am both mornings. When my oldest daughter asked if they were bringing more out, she was told no & that it is first come, first served. Our key stopped working twice, back to back. Prior to arrival, I called the front desk to find out about early check in as it shows in the app, only to find out it would be $49 to do so. I told the gentleman that we would just wait until 3 & we ended our phone call. He called me immediately back & advised that my card was declined (we lock the card when not in immediate use to protect from online fraud). I asked why he was charging my card over 3 hours prior to check in & he told me they were fully booked & asked if I planned on making my stay. Odd, as we had JUST spoken about me being 20 minutes away & asking about early check-in. We decided to head to our first stop prior to checking in since we clearly had the time. He called me back at 2pm & asked if we planned to check in for our stay as they were fully booked & he advised me of my reservation details. I told him that again, we were already in town as I had told him just a little bit ago & reminded him that he told me 2 hours ago that check in was at 3pm or I’d have to pay a fee. He told me we needed to come now to check in. I advised we we would be there at 3. We stated 2 adults, 2 children (3 & 13) on our reservation. We were provided 2 towels, 1 wash rag, 1 hand towel, & a basically empty roll of toilet paper. The fridge did not work & was moldy on the inside. There are no towels in the pool area & the front desk will not give you towels for the pool, but also do not give extra towels for the room. So it’s a lose-lose situation there. I don’t have any real specific positives to share. If you don’t care about the things above & you’re just passing thru, it’s not the worst hotel in town. We’ve stayed in worse & in better. Would I stay again? Probably in a pinch. Wild if be my first, second, or tenth choice?...
Read moreOn Saturday 3/21/20, I was falsely charged an additional $50 for false claims of smoking marijuana in a non-smoking room, after I checked-out a day earlier. When I saw the charge, I called the hotel to figure out the reason behind the charge and spoke the petite Caucasian Lady w/glasses. I calmly/respectfully asked her about the charged and she told me that it was because of marijuana was being smoked in the room. I told her that, that was some mistake because I don't smoke(period) and this isn't the 1st time I've stayed at this hotel. She immediately caught an attitude and raised her voice telling me that it smelled like marijuana and if I wanted to dispute it then I can call the manager on Monday, that he's not available today. Being that I was still in the City of Gainesville, I decided to drive back to the hotel with my girlfriend and dispute these charges. When we got there, I gave her my name and she immediately called for the manager of the hotel. Minutes later, the hotel manager came to the front desk and I explained to him about the charges. He said that he wanted to go to the room and I asked if my girlfriend and I can walk with him, he said yes. When we got to the room he said that he'll refund me the charge because the room doesn't smell like marijuana. After I thanked him, I expressed to him my displeasure of the front desk clerk and how she spoke to me over the phone and that I wanted an apology for raising her voice and hanging up on me. He agreed. When we arrived back at the front desk, I asked to speak to the young lady. She came and I explained to her that there was a mistake and I didn't like how she spoke to me over the phone. She said that she has every right to talk to me that way because I was being rude to her. So after allowing her to speak, I asked her, what did I say over the phone that came off rude? She said, you kept saying that "you don't smoke". So I said if telling you I don't smoke is being rude then I'm going to be rude again because ma'am I don't smoke. She got mad in front of the hotel manager and started yelling words at me as she walked away and then called me disrespectful in a loud tone. Before I left, I made sure to tell the hotel manager that she lacks professionalism in the position she is in. I was not rude or disrespectful, I merely disagreed with the charges.
To add: I am a well-educated black man with locs(dread locs) and I do feel that this was racially motivated.
I will never stay at this...
