Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Garden Grove

My wife and I decided to come here to grab dinner with my sister. I thought they would be busy on a Sunday night so I called ahead to put our name down on the waitlist since the app wasn't working, the waiter told me there was no wait. We were lucky to find parking because most of the spots were already taken. When I walked in and checked in with the host, they said they'll seat us soon. A couple of other parties walked in and got seated right away but we were still waiting. After 4 parties who came after us got seated and they didn't have reservations or were on the waitlist, I went back to the hostess and see what was our status and they decided to sit us right away. I wasn't happy about that but at least we got seated. I got the perfectly grilled salmon with double fruits on the side, I thought it was good but the portion was very small. My wife got the toowoomba salmon with asparagus and rice, she really loved her dish. My sister got their steak Filet Mignon and lobster tail. Her husband got the ribs with loaded mashed. My sister and wife also got their drinks too. They got the peach agave refresher and blueberry desert pear burst, which they thought was delicious. The customer service we got was also excellent after we got seated, so I have no complaints about that.

My score:

Food: 5 star, we all loved our dishes and it came out pretty quick. I just thought my salmon portion size was a little small.

Service: 4 star, our waitress was amazing and she kept checking in on us. The only issue I had was with the host because he took a while to sit us.

Parking: 4 star, finding parking can be difficult if you come on a busy day and time so be aware.

Drinks: 5 star, my wife loved her peach agave refresher and my sister loved her blueberry...

Spontaneous date night! I had a gift card, so why not put it to use now? We decided to visit last min.

Parking: There's a large parking lot. Depending on the night, finding a spot can be a hit or miss.

Ambiance/Environment: We visited on a Thursday night, thinking it would be slower. Nope! We were absolutely wrong lol. There was a huge conference that week, so the place was packed. Wait time was approximately 20 min to be seated.

Service: She didn't introduce herself, but our server was courteous and efficient. Since it was busy, throughput was not as quick. We waited about 10-15 min between each dish: bread, appetizers, and main dish. She did fill our waters and checked on us a few times.

Food:

I really wanted their prime rib, but our server mentioned that they ran out of rare, medium rare, and medium prime ribs. Not sure how a supply chain restaurant can "run out" of rare cooked steaks .. I guess they don't cook them fresh?

1. New York Steak, med rare - I ordered this with the steakhouse mac & cheese and baked potato soup. The steak was seasoned well and perfectly cooked medium rare. The Mac & cheese and soup were sooo delicious.

2. Bloomin’ Chicken Sandwich - My bf ordered this with 4x patties total. As you can tell, this man eats too much lol. It took a while for his order bc our server mentioned the chefs were confused about the order and concerned he wouldn’t be able to eat the burger. Best believe he ate majority of it lol. The chicken was lightly seasoned coated with breading and seasoned well. The fries tasted as expected.

Payment code: CZCQCY Waitress was rude and very hard to deal with. Ordered chicken tortilla soup in a bowl and it would not cover the spoon layed flat. Chicken wings I ordered (hot) were not spicey at all. Worst I have ever had. Steak I ordered medium, got a well done over cooked piece. Complained, instead of taking entire meal, they only took the steak to re-make medium telling me it will be right out. I eat the broccoli, eat most of potato with no steak, wait another 15 minutes and they bring me another entire plate with broccoli and another bake potato, why didn't they take the entire plate from the start. Very very disappointed and do not believe I will ever return to any Outback steak house ever again. What a shame that they allow people with such attitudes to work like this. Chicken wings, I left 4 on plate, she asked me if I wanted to save them, I said yes, she takes the plate and throws the plate with chicken wings in a tub on floor under bar with a huge BANG. I was like excuse me, I said I wanted those. rude, rude, rude. Harbour Blvd steak house in Anaheim is the worst place for dinner. Will be my last visit ever. To bad there's not zero stars.
