UNETHICAL. If you choose this "authorized retailer" instead of a true Verizon store, you will pay an additional fee that they *slip* in without mentioning: the "Setup for Success" fee ($40), which is different from a TRUE Verizon store's $35 setup fee. In my case, they also signed me up for an insurance plan that appears NOWHERE on my invoice, and which they never brought up or discussed with me. Did they do this while they had access to my account during the purchase process? I did not find out I had been signed up for this plan until my first bill from Verizon arrived, and thankfully Verizon itself very graciously removed the charge, saying that they were having problems with unethical practices like this from their "authorized" partners. FURTHER, I now am reading the fine print they put on my trade-in: "If you cancel service, change to an ineligible plan, or (get this) device payment amt is paid off or transferred, promo credits will stop." What ethical reason could there be for not allowing me to pay off my device? Do they get kick-backs for as long as they can keep their finger in my pie? And get this: the device "payment" amount is just $2 and change per month--but for THREE YEARS. Are they gambling that I might break my phone before then? Do they maintain some kind of access they then use to sell my data? I will call headquarters and find out if this is legal. I asked during my visit whether I could please just pay outright the approx $100 difference after trade-in for my new phone right now, and they told me no, but that I'd be able to after two months, just go online (she highlighted "1-2 billing cycles" on my bill). But that promise doesn't seem to jive with the fine print. Oh, and to top it all off, this store agent told me that if both my husband and I were to renew our phones at the same time, we would pay less tax. Tell me how that is possible, unless these agents are relying on people's lesser intelligence to get more business, basically a scam. I am deeply offended.

DO NOT BUY A PHONE FROM THIS STORE! There are criminals that work at this store. I traded in my iPhone 11 for a 14 last year with a promo offer and it was never turned in by the employee(s). They never created an invoice to send the phone back and didn’t apply my credit to my account for the trade-in - meaning I was to be charged and extra $800 for this phone that I didn’t agree to. Allegedly, a female manager is who helped me the day of the trade-in and I handed my trade-in phone directly to her. When I went to the store months later when my credit wasn’t being applied to my bill, she refused to help me or talk to me saying “It’s not my problem.” Zion was helpful on my return visit as he tried to contact these managers for support, but they just hung up on him and refused to come in. Even the number for the highest person up in that store was no help. He promised to look into it and call me back and never did. Terrible management who likely sell the trade-ins for profit. I tried to file a police report but they “don’t get involved”… After probably 8 conversations with customer service via phone, chat and actually going up to the store, my issue was finally resolved higher up. You just have to get the right person...

Got a quote for new phone from 1 gentleman, when phone came in, no one called to let me know it was in (as they said they would). I called the store numerous times only to get a vm box that was full. Went in to pick up last Saturday (highly recommend you don't do that), only to wait in line for 1.5 hours, and when my turn was due, a young gentleman came in, blasted right past me up to the service desk and was helped right away, making me wait yet another 45 minutes. When I finally was able to get my new phone activated, I left not realizing that agent charged me full price ($810) for the phone that was quoted as $579. Went back in to the Basalt store this time, and was told by that gals there (who were very nice) that my account/phone doesn't qualify for the $579 deal. So after all that, I ended up returning my new phone (and NOT getting a full refund). I did call the actual Verizon customer service who said they could get me the phone for cheaper than the store...Moral of the story...Make sure you have in writing everything before you waste an entire Saturday...
