Excellent grocery store. Almost a perfect 5. I will tell you why not. But first the good, super kind, friendly staff. They always make me feel welcomed and leaving with a smile. Good variety of products for those of us who cook for ourselves. Veggie selection is excellent along with meats, dairy, seasonings, spices, to go coffee, and the occasional guilty pleasure like sweet potato fries, ice cream, or dumplings.
Great cleaning products, variety selection of toilet paper, supplements (especially for those of us who are stressed and need something to calm the nerves and muscle tension). Amazingly clean, filtered water for personal cooking and coffee making. Just a tight knit run little store.
You can tell they care. The staff seems happy and willing, which makes me feel good about shopping here.
Now the bad…. During “that” event that required isolating us from our loved ones, friends, and community, which borderline coerced you into joining the cult of the diaper face and ouchie needle, they had one employee (who isn’t there anymore) who was RUTHLESS.
He was very nasty, unprofessional, and uncaring that we didn’t join the cult. Regardless, we were still Natural Grocers customers both BEFORE “that” event, during, and even still NOW. I even wrote to Natural Grocers directly informing of this experience. They gave some corporate spiel about taking it into consideration, but whether that gentleman was disciplined or not is anyone’s guess.
I will never forget that gentleman’s face, even though I know it may have not been personal. I sincerely hope he regrets what he did or at the very least feels dumb since now in 2024 we have much more data to show skepticism to join the “face diaper & ouchie needle” cult was always the right thing to do.
Natural Grocers, I really hope you learned from that event, and from now on let people decide for themselves as God-fearing adults what is best for their own body today and...
Read moreI'll start by saying that the staff is great, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. I know several of them on a first name basis. I shop here twice a week for my family, avg. $400 a trip/$3K a month.
The inventory management is so egregiously poor. They are consistently out of the basic/staple provisions. Eggs, milk, bread, butter, yogurt....I generally leave without getting 25% of what's on my shopping list, even though they "carry it".
Take eggs for example. They don't have ANY eggs 50%+ of the time. Not just the kind I want, but zero. The staff says they order the eggs from corporate, but they don't receive the shipments they order. They give all kinds of other reasons, too (bird flu, covid, city market takes them all, small farm problems, etc.). Then I drive to City Market, because I have to, and they literally have 16 different egg options and hundreds of cartons available, every time I go.
If the inventory is at the store, but just not stocked, try hiring enough staff to get it onto the shelves, or having staff for outside of business hours. As far as I can tell, NG only re-stocks during business hours, not overnight. If you do have it, get it on the shelves!
If you can't provide the basic food staples listed above, I sure hope you'll consider closing this store so another grocer with the ability to actually serve our community can come in and provide us with what we need.
I hate to write such a scathing review, but the long-term (years), consistent inventory issues at this store is an absolute joke.
Update....another grocery trip today. No broccoli, crackers, the frozen pizza we buy, 2% gallon milk, or EGGS. Sign says supply chain issues no eggs at NG, but look at the photo from City Market after I drove over there to get everything else we needed. Hundreds of cartons of eggs, Vital Farms...
Read moreToday I went to the Natural Groceries store in Glendwood springs and bought some things and inside them a shaker of shakes. The shaker came out to be defective so I decide to go back to the store to return the glass for another one since it came out defective. The Manager MARY LOUGUILIN attended me at register number #6 briefly informed her that I do not have the receipt that I do have a photo that i was her none less than 2 hours. She told me unfortunately I can't accept the photo, She didn't even give me the option of telling her why I came to return the Shaker ,I show her the photo and very un respectfully Mrs.Mary Lougulin addresses me like do you see this picture pointing to my phone and tells me: you see that photo in that place that you took the photo, you can go back and look for the receipt there again. After she told me that, he told me you have this dates to look for the receipt. I, amazed by her lack of human tact, respectfully ask her is another manager is on duty? She indicates no! When I decided to take a pen and write her name, Mrs. Mary approached me and told me, give me the pen and I will write my name and last name approaching me without any kind of personal distance. I felt cornered, uncomfortable and harassed by her behavior towards me. The time of what happened was 4:48 pm, you can search your cameras and see the treatment of the Manager Mrs. Mary Lougulin invading my personal space making my...
