We had an amazing stay. The location is perfect with quick access to the highway and lots of fast food, restaurant, and shopping options all around. We even walked over to Freddy's the first night when no one wanted to consider getting in the car again.
The pool was an unexpected surprise, and perfect for after a long day outside. The pool is an inside pool and the room heated, so no shock to jump in. It was the cleanest hotel pool I've ever seen and I saw them cleaning it and checking the towels and room regularly.
Housekeeping was amazing. We didn't want any room service as our dog was with us, and they were so accommodating with anything we needed, like new towels and a trash bag for my kids mess.
Breakfast is so good, and Sherry kept everything so clean. They have a rotating waffle flavor on top of a normal waffle flavor which was a highlight for my youngest.
And of course, the front desk staff was phenomenal. They have a small drink and food shop you can grab items from, and Shay was always right there to add it to my tab when I needed an energy drink. Deajzia was there at our check in and helped us figure out our reservation when we thought we made a mistake and hooked us up with the best room near the pool and an exit so our dog didnt have to travel far.
But Nicholas, the night manager! Amazing! We had a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night, and while you never want to be woken up at 330am, if I had to do it anywhere, I would choose this hotel. He was so calm and professional, helping everyone get out and making sure we were okay, and after firefighters gave everyone the all clear, he was so helpful as we had forgotten to grab a room key to verify which room we were in and quickly got us a new one. His presence made what could have been a stressful situation be a successful evacuation.
Every member of the team we spoke to was wonderful, always working hard, and we will be making this our regular hotel from here on out when we visit family in Akron from here on out. This experience has us locked in and loyal and I cannot praise them enough! We look forward to seeing you all again...
Read moreThe ONLY positive of this hotel was the room sizes. I booked a block for my wedding night and the whole process was such a pain. I had to call and email many times, and they only have one person who is able to work on hotel blocks. He was never available so sometimes I would go a week with no response. The communication was the worst I've ever experienced, and I had to follow up over and over again. Our booking link ended up closing 2 days earlier than it was supposed to, which was super embarrassing when I was sharing the link with all 160 of my wedding guests. Finally, about a week before the wedding. the guy in charge of the hotel block called me ensuring everything was good to go. I was EXTREMELY clear with him that the wedding party would not be able to check in for themselves, and asked if I could have other people check in on our behalf. He said no problem. I sent him an email detailing every room & who would be checking in for that room. I specifically asked him about payment, and if someone who wasn't on the room could check in, and he said absolutely, no worries. Well, several of my guests got double charged. Two of my guests got TRIPLE CHARGED. I have NO idea how. None of the rooms were near each other. I thought the whole point of a block was staying in the same area. We were spread out between all 3 floors. Lastly, because so many people got double/triple charged the block rate was not honored. People were getting charged completely different amounts, makes no sense. I truly have no idea how this place is in business with the current management. I work in customer service and I would've been fired immediately if this was how I worked with customers, especially those bringing you a lot of business. I will never stay here again, and I will be sure no one I know reserves a...
Read more5/28/24 UPDATE: we were rather disappointed with our stay at the Hampton. The desk staff could not have been nicer, but things seemed to be lacking this time around. I think they are short-staffed and the desk people were having to also prepare breakfast which was not up to par. The trays were often empty, and our breakfast omelets were cold with hard cheese inside. Also the safety latch was missing from the inside of our room door, and we were short one wastebasket which was rather inconvenient. Also the bathroom door lock was not working, and the luggage rack was missing from our room so we stacked both our small suitcases on top of the desk. In all fairness, we didn't complain, and I know they would have met every need. Hubby says the air conditioning unit wasn't working quite right either so they might want to check that in room 306. Otherwise though, we still find this Hampton so convenient to restaurants and stores, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is so wonderfully friendly. We will still be back.
We usually stay at a different Hampton when we visit Akron, but opted for this one this time as it was closer to the funeral home we would be attending..The staff was super friendly at the front desk and recognized our Hampton gold status, we had a very clean room, nice and quiet, a comfortable bed, and a delicious breakfast. The location can't be beat as there's a Bob Evans right across the parking lot, a few hamburger places, Taco Bell, and tons of other restaurants right there on Arlington. A 2 minute ride to Walmart and Kohl's, and lots of other stores close by. I think we are going to make this Hampton our new regular because it was a perfect stay, nice and quiet in the midst of a difficult time for us. Thanks, everyone at Hampton Inn...
