DO NOT GET SCAMMED! THIS PLACE IS NOTHING LIKE ADVERTISED!! We booked this hotel for 1 night too be close to weekend event. Upon walking into the "front door" there is no lobby, no nice front desk, not inviting environment at all. "Office" is a window cutout in wall to a room about the size of a small walk in closet. Staff was less than friendly upon check in. They go over 1 hotel rule with you (the front desk has "quiet hours" where there is nobody there to assist from 10p-9a), but don't tell you about the other rules and "fees" you can incur or what to expect for longer stays. Hotel very old and outdated. Hallways dark, lights flickering on and off. A/C loud, window or floor foundation leaked. People screaming and fighting. Our room door only opened 1/2 way...drags along the laminate floor. And when you went to close the door to leave the room you had to pull extra hard to ensure it actually latched. No toiletries. The counters, bedding, shower curtain stained/dingy. Very small TV (probably 24") with poor signal. Metal frame bed with thin cheap mattresses. It's intended for extended stay and full kitchen...there is a full size fridge. And 2 burner electric hot plate in counter. No dishes, silverware, cookware. No coffee maker, no ice maker. Smells like Marijuana throughout whole property. People just hanging out near the entrance. I immediately searched for another hotel in the area because I was NOT staying there! (Even though I already paid and most likely no refund so basically made a financial donation that I doubt will go to anything good!) I went to front counter to let them know I would not be staying. They asked why and I tried to explain without being rude. I know there are people who HAVE to stay there because they have limited options. And I didn't want to make them feel bad about anything, my issue was with hotel directly. But the staff became rude and dismissive. They went to check my room to ensure I didn't do any damage, and then took the room keys. When we asked about a refund they said I'd have to call back Monday when manager was in. Based on other public reviews I DOUBT I'll get anything back even though we weren't even in the room more than 1/2 hour before finding another option. This place is 1 step up from sleeping in the street! I'm not asking for fancy, but when your advertising a certain esthetic even in lower star hotel rating (said 2.5 but wouldn't even give 1 star). I hope that this review helps save at least 1 person from what I experienced. I only took a few pictures. In hindsight I wish I took more to expose them for the fraud they are.

This may have been the dirtiest Extended Stay I had ever visited. Even if the rooms only rent for $55/night there is no reason for the rooms to be this dirty. These are images from 2 separate rooms, so not thought into, "Maybe it was just one room" thought. 1. Mold growing on top of the refrigerator. 2. Mold growing on the floor. 3. The microwave had not been cleaned. 4. The bed sheets had stains and smelled like they had been slept in. 5. The tub was not even cleaned. 6. The bathroom shower trim was reversed. "Hot was Cold and Cold was Hot".. Took a minute to figure that out thought we didn't have hot water. 7. It looks like someone spilled juice or soda on the shelf where you would store your bags, and that was not cleaned. Now some of what we experienced is expected as this is an Extended Stay. There are people living at this hotel as I know many Americans are struggling to find affordable housing and have found refuge in these types of places, but it also brings noise and regardless of the price on the room a person still deserves to stay in a clean healthy environment. Which this place is not. The only elevator in the building literally smelled like human excrement. The odor lingered well into the next morning, so it wasn't someone just passing gas in the elevator. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

I’m not usually one to leave reviews, good or bad. But this hotel was filthy! We checked in at 1am went up to our room and immediately noticed small bugs scattering as we opened the door, the toilet hadn’t been cleaned, sink and mirror were also dirty. Floors had stuff all over them like they hadn’t been swept. We thought okay maybe they missed cleaning this room. We took pictures and showed the receptionist who gave us a different room. When we walked in, it smelled strongly of urine and again bugs scattered, this time we could tell what type they were… roaches. So we again took pictures and showed the receptionist who then put us up two floors and on the opposite side of the hotel thinking that would solve it. Nope. Same thing so we decided to ask for a refund which they did give. Thankfully the receptionist was very kind and helpful! Google says this hotel is 3.7 stars but I’ve never stayed in a hotel of that rating that had roaches and was that dirty

I want to start out by saying my wife and I have been staying here for roughly 7 months. We have switched rooms on multiple occasions from the 1st floor, 4th floor, and the 2nd floor. Every single room we have been in has been infested with COCKROACHES!!! I mean literally bugs are a huge fear of mine my girl can attest to that. For the management to just continue to let this infestation go on and do nothing about it is absolutely unacceptable and needs to be addressed by corporate and the board of health. Shame on management here you know who you are. You’ve continued to tell my ol lady and me that you would get our room addressed with the bug extermination company you use, and it’s been months nothing has been done!! Nothing and then we told you guys two weeks ago and you said you would have someone out here for an emergency within 48 hours and YET STILL NO ONE HAS CAME OUT!!! We’re so disappointed and disgusted with the way you and your employees have treated us and the other people staying here you’ve let something go on that is an absolute joke of leadership and lack of work ethic on every single one of you here.. I wouldn’t recommend this Extended Stay of America if it was the last place on earth to be. The staff from day one has been extremely rude to us and the way they communicate with residents here is absolutely unacceptable. I’ve had to take my review down two weeks ago because the staff wanted to make comments to my ol lady that and bring up what I said on the review which was so low to do and say to her “well why are you still here if it’s so bad?” Now what type of manager of a hotel or any company for that matter say something like that to your customer? Also it was me who left the review! Not my wife so you should have came to me not her if you got a problem with what I said maybe you should fix it and address the problem here that you all keep putting off and bold face lying to us saying your gonna get an exterminator in here when your really not and it’s a load of bs.. I’m sick of your nonsense and lies Extended Stay Greenwood. I truly hope the calls other residents have made to the board of health, the BBB, corporate and the city of Greenwood that this place gets SHUT DOWN CONDEMNED!!! Then maybe you all can start at the bottom again management and watch and learn how to properly take care of your customers and residents when you go to another hotel for a job. Management you know who you are and Chris me I’m the one who is typing this and made this so don’t come at my wife or anyone but me if you got something to say. You shouldn’t be in the position you’re in. I know you don’t have to live here, but we do and other people do and for yall to not have done something about this sooner and close this place down for a whole day and night and get it completely bombed and exterminated is flat out NEGLIGENCE to your entire staff and organization. Your part of a corporation and these reviews are on here for a reason it’s my right and anybody else right to put up the reviews how we feel about your company. That’s what a review is!! All I’m doing is speaking facts here. Maybe you should do something about the problem management and stop lying to us about getting this whole infestations under control cause it’s the most unacceptable and unprofessional establishment I’ve ever been to....

MISS DONNA puts on a very good show of being 'nice' but by no means is she hospitable or kind in any way. She maintains a facade of professionalism while operating in a very hostile and aggresive manner, unlike how a PROFESSIONAL should condone themselves.

The day after writing my initial review which was full of complaints and disapproval MISS DONNA called up to my room and claimed corporate called her and chewed her out and told me that she wasn't too happy about it. Well, she didnt have any particular reason to call my room other than to inform me that she was upset about my bad review which sounds like an off the clock converstion in which I didn't care to have and she gave a strong 'Im trying to make things right so I don't get in trouble' vibes. I personally told her "I dont care about the safety of anyone's job and im just a guest whos not obligated to maintain your corporate to management relations. That's on you."

I ONLY rewrote my original NEGATIVE review with positive feedback because MISS DONNA practally begged me to. I felt that I was harassed and coerced against my will to submit a new one. I would have absolutely no reason to speak to her going about my business and when walking by the desk she would be actively tending to a potential guest and MISS DONNA strays off from the conversation to ask "Oh hey Mr. Hood can you please do a review"? So after about the 4th or 5th time she requested for me to do this I just decided to go ahead and submit a fabricated testimony with positive feedback in hopes it would not negatively affect my stay there. After a few days of writing the false testimony she spammed me again requesting from me to submit a review of the hotel and when I had to remind her that I already did a few days ago she said "Oh yeah that's right". I felt harassed after the 2nd time she asked me to do it and she asked me about 6 different occasions within one week.

Why would I care if you take the fall for a negative review, Why all of a sudden do you want to promote self beneficial reviews after you done ran up the score on mismanaging the entire place. That's the reason we do these to share our testimony and inform the general public of whats actually going on and what you can expect while staying here.

In the 4 months of staying there, I had 5 different rooms every single room upon entry was either dirty (unswept and sticky floors) had missing towels or the TV didn't work.

They can't seem to control or stop the anonymous guests who blatantly smoke marijuana in their rooms causing it to reek profusely all through the building. MISS DONNA personally 'investigates' these issues by popping residents doors unannounced one by one all through the halls to sniff the air inside. You could be butt naked, changing clothes, having sex or even sleeping and she will pop in to verify if the smoke is coming from your room. That's intrusive and illegal in the manner in which it's done.

Wouldn't recommend staying here to absolutely anybody. This is one of the worst motels in...
