Took my family out for Valentines Dinner. Checked in about an hour and half before arrival.. and only had to wait 15 mins after arrival. Hosts were awesome! Kearston was our server.. and she only visited the table a handful of times. Most of our food was delivered to our table by other workers.. which was fine until our appetizers came out separately despite being gave to Kearston at the same time. Our pow wow shrimp was gave to the table next to us.. and it had to remade. We had 7 of us total in our group.. and my youngest daughter she is 3 years old and miss. independent and wanted to order her own dinner. Kearston rolled her eyes in annoyance and kept stating she couldn't hear her, so I cut my daughter off and just placed the order for her because i knew it was busy and she was annoyed. Maybe it’s too loud if you cant hear us over the music in the restaurant? Also, while receiving our meal everyone at the table received their meal at the same time besides me. So I had to wait several minutes before my food followed. Anyway, come toward the end and we are ready to pay, Kearston brings out the device that we would use if we pay with card. I pay my bill with card and prefer to tip in cash for the benefit of the servers. Kearston takes my card and pushes all the way through the payment screen.. without adjusting the tip according to how i wanted it. After that I told her that i prefer to tip in cash and she states “well oops i already hit accept and processed the payment” and I was like “well how much was the tip?” And she goes “I don’t know” and I asked “ Well can you find out how much? so I can make sure that i tipped you an appropriate amount. ” And she states “ I don't have a way to go check and see the amount” so I hand her more cash because I wasn't sure if I tipped her at all and I’m not one to go without tipping a server. After handing Kearston the cash she states “oh wow your crazy!” And walked away with a crazy smile. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. From my experience with soft open til now it has seemed to truly decline. Food was amazing, but troubles with our service was truly NOT good. Ill be back but just request that she doesnt wait on my...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I visited the new Aspen Creek Grill a few days after the Grand Opening, and we're already fans. We checked in online through their website, which saved us a wait in the lobby. We've visited again since, bringing out-of-town relatives, and both experiences had minor hiccups that were resolved well by the manager.
During our first visit, we signed up for their rewards program and received a free soft drink. We also got a coupon for a free appetizer, which we used on our second visit. The fried pickles were good—nothing unique but definitely met the standard. A downside for me was the absence of Thousand Island dressing among their homemade options.
My boyfriend had the sirloin and Pow-Wow Shrimp combo, which tasted amazing. The shrimp were crispy and hot, but his sirloin was overcooked. The staff offered to recook it, and the new steak came out perfect with fresh sides, which we appreciated. I had the meatloaf, featuring jalapeno, bacon, and an onion ring on top of a bed of mashed potatoes. It was cooked perfectly, moist and flavorful. The prices are comparable to Texas Roadhouse, but I found the quality and flavor of the food at Aspen Creek Grill to be better. However, they don't serve rolls or bread as a free appetizer.
On our second visit, we both had sirloins, and all four steaks at our table were cooked correctly. We used our free appetizer coupon for a full order of Pow-Wow Shrimp. Unfortunately, they weren't as good this time—the shrimp were not very hot, and the cold sauce cooled them too much. They remade the dish, but the second batch was hot but soggy, not as good as our first visit. This inconsistency makes me hesitant to reorder them.
We tried two desserts: the brownie a-la mode and the fried cheesecake. The fried cheesecake was the standout—a must-try, reminiscent of fried ice cream from Mexican restaurants, creamy on the inside with a thin, crispy coating and caramel drizzle.
The waitresses we had each time were lively, apologetic, and attentive. We will definitely be revisiting in the near future, bringing more family...
Read moreMy visit had a few hiccups in it is the reason for my not so five star rating! The atmosphere is laid back. The staff is half and half….some gave smiles and were friendly and the others were blah! The food was delicious once we got it. I had to send my steak back because it was overly pink, when I ordered it medium rare! It took a while for it to come back out, which I had to send the other food I had back because it gotten cold waiting on my steak! A worker named Riley I’m assume is a manager came to the table and I told him about my steak, he said he was going to check on it walked past me several times and even looked me in my face without an update on my food which was very odd! And to make things even more unprofessional and odd, he went to the table literally right behind mines and made sure everything was ok, he introduced himself, (that’s how I found out his name) and made sure their food was good!! I felt that was a bit racist because we definitely wasn’t the same color as the him nor the table he did all thee above with!! The “district manager” Mike B. came to the table and was made aware of my food and he got my steak out to me not to long after he left the table! Then he gave me fresh food. He introduced himself when I asked his name, I also made it aware of the treatment from Riley (I didn’t give him the name I told him it will be in my review)! Other than the long problem with my food, the alcoholic beverage that seemed virgin, a lot of the staff standing around in numbers of three or more and the disrespectful, unprofessional treatment from the one bad Apple (Riley) I think the food was delicious and tender, and some of the staff is amazing making you feel welcomed!! I might give it another try and hopefully it’s way better and a lot...
