The Lodge Luxury Suites — Hotel in Hancock

This is way overdue glowing review for The Lodge Luxury Suites. I should start off by stating that I am not easily impressed and as we all know, experiences with the service industry over the past five years (post COVID) have been unpredictable at best. I wanted to plan a winter get away for my wife’s birthday at the end of November ‘24, and since we both love the U.P. area and are always up for an adventure, we decided to check out the Keweenaw Peninsula area which we knew would be a gamble during the winter months. Well, this trip turned into an adventure all right, and thanks to the hospitality, flexibility, and wonderful communication with Sydney (Property Manager) at The Lodge Luxury Suites, it still turned out to be a wonderful trip. I should note that I initially had to cancel my reservation due to the passing of my father and not knowing when I would have to fly back down to Atlanta next. Even with some concerns regarding cancellation fees due to issues that seemed to be on Expedia’s side, Sydney made sure our trip was 100% reimbursed. When I learned that I could indeed make the trip work out, I rebooked the room and asked Sydney if she could help with arranging some items for my wife’s birthday such as wine and roses in our room for when we arrived. She was more than happy to do so and also upgraded our room to help us celebrate. Despite driving through treacherous weather to and from Minneapolis to the U.P. (That lake effect snow is something else!), we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our time in our homey and very comfortable suite. The resort in itself is absolutely adorable (old world meets new world charm!) and the amenities are wonderful too (Sauna, Washer/Dryer, etc..). They have a beautiful bar/gathering area with a lovely fireplace as well. I can go on, but this is longer than most people want to read already. This was a top tier stay in the Houghton/Hancock area. I highly recommend this place especially if you’re coming with a large party - the commons area is the perfect gathering space with luxurious couches(very comfy) and other incredibly comfy furniture. The bar in the commons area also is fully stocked with everything I could’ve needed, snacks, water, + coffee !! When I did need something extra- the gas station next door was open 24 hours and I only had to walk 30 seconds across the street to get what I needed!! The beds in the room are so comfortable and even had massage options which was so nice. If you’d like to relax even extra during your stay, you should for sure utilize the sauna!

I could not leave a more glowing review! We used The Lodge Luxury Suites for our small wedding reception and had my family rent out all of the suites for the weekend. Everyone said how comfortable, beautifully decorated, and accommodating the suite rooms were. The event spaces (both upstairs and downstairs) were so nicely renovated/decorated. The property managers were SO helpful with our process. From our conversations before we even booked to the day of the wedding, they were so helpful and kind.
