If you're a snowmobiler read these posts. The guy from Iowa is exactly correct. Laura is the worst "manager" I've ever encountered. I've never been greeted so rudely at a place I spent almost a thousand dollars in 3 days. I heard from others that have visited the Winter Carnival for decades in a row that she was ok as a desk clerk but as soon as she became manager, her willingness to compromise went to zero and I can confirm as it happened to me. I was charged extra money for one of her locals vomiting in a hallway? Then the coward locked me out of my room until I paid extra - knowing I had no other option for a place to stay. I had no choice and didn't even get an opportunity to explain my side of the story. How is that "managing"???? I'm not sure how their bartenders over serving their local customer should cost me? That person meeting me and my friends, in their provided public forum, turned into revoking all of my future reservations?? Funny how just a few years ago Laura was allowing people after hours in the pool and spa area to party after hours. She is not only worthless to having a good time but brought nothing to table except negativity to my staying experience. I would've rated this zero stars if I could have. The rest of the staff tried to make up for Laura's short comings. DON'T stay here if you're looking for a good time and Ramada hasn't fired Laura yet. Please Ramada, fire Laura and people like her. We love your locations, accommodations and would be loyal customers if you'd just get rid of the trumped up desk clerk with an ego and an...

Rooms were clean enough and reasonably comfortable. We came to visit for a Michigan Tech tour and the one item that we asked about that would be a necessity was a WiFi connection that was up to date. We were told that it was, and believed this since it is in a town that prides itself to being next to the school and various other aspects. There was such a slow WiFi connection that it did not work and my son, who needed this for presentations and other important items he was working on for school searches, found quickly that the issue was not his computer, rather it was the hotel's routers. We mentioned this the next morning prior to visiting the school, and the manager explained to us that they were aware of this problem and were hoping to attain new routers soon. We would not have chosen to stay at this hotel if we would have known this was the case since there were many other hotels to choose from in the area. We did not use the restaurant, but the breakfast was good. Overall, if staying for a regular hotel experience where not necessarily needing WiFi service, no problem, but for those on business, or students who need this, stay away from this hotel for now. I was not happy since this was the only specific question I asked prior to booking was that they had sufficient WiFi service and then being told a day later that they knew the service was not functional. Clean rooms, small bathrooms, outdated rooms for a Ramada, but the view of the...

Not good for large groups that want to hang in the lobby past 10pm, even if you make up 90% of their guests. You get told you parked wrong even though they don’t plow their parking lot and you have to guess if it’s one row or two rows of parking. Somehow you need to know this before you park over 5 inches of snow in their lot. Front desk manager is a joke, but the rest of the staff is nice.

Why would you book a sports team and their families without telling them there will not be anywhere for you to hangout at night? 10 Guests were threatened eviction just for sitting in the lobby playing cards after 10pm. Not a friendly desk staff , but housekeeping, maintenance and food people great.

Rooms are ok , view on the water side is nice, showers are made for people 4 ft tall and breakfast choices decent. Everything is old, snowy conditions outside are dangerous because they don’t clear it right away. Housekeeping friendly. We didn’t let the mean lady ruin our visit.

Thanks for responding 10 months later to this post. Let’s move you down to one star now cause you guys are obviously sleeping. Here’s my response to your response! We were in the lobby and not in our rooms. Other guests were there and we were all peaceful. Just a cringy overnight staff. Either way, ppl will be stuck to use you because of location, but our...

Overall, I'm disappointed. It should be sorry for the reputation of Ramada and Google's 4.3 rating. The service staff are friendly and the location is superior, which is the only advantage I can think of. During the covid-19 epidemic prevention and control period, I saw garbage on the ground as soon as I entered the door, I saw the old carpet and the old furniture. No more than 10 sheets of tissue are used up. Queen size's bed is absolutely full size. If two people sleep on it, they will fall down. The mattress is an old spring mattress that rattles when you turn over. The managers should try the pillow, It's tall and hard, you'll definitely hurt your neck.

Super amazing hotel! I booked a normal room nothing fancy and idk why but they called me back and asked me to confirm my address and email address and then upgraded my room. Not sure why but hey i got a jacuzzi out of the deal and a view of my truck wile i stayed here. Room was very nice. Staff super nice. Some may have a heavy accent so there’s that. But otherwise super awesome place. Comfy beds. My only complaint is... my room didn’t have a microwave but there was a microwave downstairs so instead of making my pizza bites in my boxers i had to put cloths on to make them 🤷‍♂️ not the end of the world.

My daughter and I stayed here for the weekend while visiting my other daughter at Michigan Tech. The staff was super nice, the room clean, and beds comfortable. There was no noise at all that I could hear from inside or out. The continental breakfast was actually pretty good with lots of options. The location was easy to find, and get to and from. The view was the best part. I got a lake side room and the view was stunning. Hancock and Houghton are beautiful towns and to have a view across the water looking at the lift bridge was just sensational. I would definitely stay here again.
