I was in town for a convention and I was there for 3 nights. Day 1 checked into a room, first thing that is wrong is the door handles. You had to open the door handle up instead of down and then push the door open, after you scanned your card multiple times to try and get in. The air of the hotel room hits your nose and it was stale and reeked of old remains of a smokers room. My room was on the 5th floor. The air conditioner they had on when you walked in, reeked the most of stale, moldy, smoke air. It was disgusting. And I saw roaches after I had settled in. It was also triggering my allergies. The furniture they had there had stains a few stains on them, and I didn't want to sit on it. I had to lay out towels on the desk chair because it was dirty and dusty. The dresser reeked when you opened the drawers from old stale air that settled into the wood. I brought my own wipes to at least wipe down surfaces. I wasn't sure if anyone really used that room for a while, or even cleaned. I had to call the front desk and ask to be moved to another room. They moved me to a room on the first floor that was near the breakfast dinning area. Thought it would be better because it probably was a high traffic room and it would be more cleaner. Door handle still messed up. Took a few tries to get in still. Room less stale smelling, but workable. Day 2 I came back and it didn't seem to be any critters thankfully, but around 3am in the morning I was startled awake by the fire alarm. It was going throughout the entire building. I immediately grabbed my hotel room key and my phone and walked to the front desk. The front desk clerk was on the phone continuously answering all the front desk calls and saying it was a false alarm basically and everything was okay. A few other people who were around the front desk with me were looking at her to see if she was going to address us. She never did. So finally I came up to her and was like "excused me" several times. I asked her if this was a false alarm? She was still picking up phone calls and ignoring me. But I kept pushing for a response saying "excuse me, ma'm". She told me it was probably someone smoking in one of the rooms. However I wasn't satisfied because I didn't see any fire crew or anything come out. So I walked outside and called 911 and let them know can they send fire crews out and double check because there is 5 or 6 floors and I want to be sure its safe to go back in. They came, I flagged one of them and told them what happened. He came back out and said to me that he told them they can't just go and turn off the alarm, they need to contact management and reach out to them. Fire crewman also said they would have come out eventually anyway. He did tell me that he checked the hotel panel and said that the alarm came from their laundry room! So the hotel clerk was telling everyone it was okay, and probably someone was smoking in the room, but it came from the HOTEL laundry room lol. Their personnel was not being safe and didn't care about the other people who were staying in the hotel. The fire crewman thanked me for calling and said I did the right thing. Now imagine if there was a real fire? 3rd night was okay, but I honestly couldn't wait to get out of there. I couldn't wait to go home, and I regret not paying extra to stay in a better hotel. The reason why I thought this was a decent hotel, was because I have had better experiences with La Quinta in CA. This hotel seemed like it bought out another and repainted and put band aids. They need a full remodel, a regular pest control weekly if they don't already have one, and tear out that old nasty carpet (traps odors). Don't stay here, spend a bit more for something cleaner. That weekend, I ended up missing my flight and had to get a hotel again to stay over. Ended up back at the HI Exp and had a much better experience. Wasn't even over $100 on a popular third party site last minute. Pictures of the room I had on the 5th floor. I didn't take pictures of the second room because at that point, it wasn't...
Read moreThis was the WORST hotel i have EVER visited. First the location is not great. Yes it's convenient to the airport and convention center, but safety is a major concern when staying at this location. On the day after we arrived we saw several cars, in the back lot, had been broken into. The back windows were busted and the car was rummaged through. Both cars had out of town plates. We spoke to one of the owners and he said the hotel had video but it wasn't clear. All around the hotel are signs that say they are not responsible for damage or theft to your vehicle. Which we found concerning since we are staying on your property. Because of this, we felt like the break in were an inside job. The hotel seems unconcerned with the safety and crimes on their property.
The interior of the hotel had a weird smell and looked very outdated. None of the complementary lobby items were available. No coffee, the lobby fire place was not working. The staff was very nice. I can only remember Yessir's name. He is who we spoke with to advise that we would NOT be parking in the back lot. He assured us our car would not be towed since we made a "makeshift" spot. The breakfast was limited and not very inviting.
I think the room was the worst part of this stay. First we were tucked away next to the laundry center and exit door. The room and the hallway reeked of marijuana. While the room was fairly clean it was so outdated. Cracks in the foundation, chipped paint, dull lighting, no cover on the batteries on the remote, One of the lights, next to the bed didn't work. Stray hairs in the shower. Shower water knob difficult to turn off. Bathroom door difficult to open. the bed was not comfortable, had my back aching every morning, and the pillows were not pillows. Not sure what they were using to mimic pillows, but they were horrible also.
I hate to leave such a negative review, but I feel I may have been traumatized by this stay, and want to prevent others from the same. Again the two front desk gentlemen were helpful and wonderful, but the hotel was not. I would not recommend hotel to anyone and will NEVER stay at another La...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel a month ago and i was scammed if my deposit. The hotel was okay. Hotel is affordable, bed very comfortable and close to airport. Unfortunately I was scammed by the hotel. As a general manager of a hotel myself I know how deposits and payments work. I paid my room rate of $130 and I had to pay deposit of $100 for extras. I took a mineral and a frozen rice that same night after paying. I was not given any proof of payment. was told that I will be refunded on check out. On check out I was told system is down so no receipt but they will email it to me. The next day I called and demanded for my invoice and refund. I was told that the refund is automatically when they check me out of the room. When I got my invoice, I notice that only accommodations was on there, no deposit or the take away meal. I did not worry because I assumed it’s being done deprecate because of the refund. I also notice that I did not get a refund notification from my bank in South Africa that will inform me of the initiation of the refund. 2 weeks later I called the GM Monica and ask about the refund and she informed me it takes 14 working days and if it’s not there I should ask my bank. 16 working days later I tried to call them and no response. I called my bank and they told me there is no refund initiation. I called the hotel and no response. I called Wyndham customer service. They were not helpful at all and keep on saying the hotel handles this kind of issues. They logged my complain and said someone will respond in a weeks time.
It’s a week after my complaint with customer service and it’s a month after my stay and no response from hotel, customer service and no refund.
For a renowned group of hotels, it’s the worst customer service and the hotel staff are thieves. They knew exactly what they were doing. I have been robbed of about $80 and I know this is not much but this is my money and not theirs. They should ensure their staff are honest and straightforward and their GM should have a better telephone manner with guest that has used...
