We stayed here for a week from Feb 22nd to Feb 28th this year. The room was nice but we had picked 3 beds and it had 2 with a couch. The room was stocked with garbage bags, dish soap, towels, pool towels, pots and pans, coffee maker, blow dryer, glasses, and wine glasses. It was an ice tray in the freezer, but you will need to add water. The room was nice and simple. We had a mountain view from tower 1... which was nice during sunrise as the sun came up over the mountain, but the view was slightly obscured by a large tall hotel. There's a great little mini mart and coffee shop on the main floor, and the lobby is open with fish pond and waterfall. Unfortunately, our ceiling leaked the first night we were there and soaked my mom, the bed, and floor. I contacted Midway vacations, and they sent someone to check it out and gave us new sheets. I guess there wasn't an option to have a different room. After the 1st day being there, the pool was closed and drained.. it opened back up 2 days before we left. The elevators are also under construction for a renovation, and there is very often a line for the 1 or 2 that are running at a time.. the building has 37 floors. On the last day, only 1 was running, and we had to carry all of our luggage down the stairs. Thank goodness we weren't on floor 37. It would have been nice to know there's a trash shoot at the end of the hallway on the first day.. we had taken it down to the dumpster. The last day another patron told us. The location is just a block or so to the shops and good...
Read moreBecause we could not rent an Airbnb, we rented a timeshare. In the same building, the staff was very nice when we had to deal with them. The elevators are extremely slow so plan at least 10 minutes into your day if you're waiting for an elevator. There is a very nice coffee shop downstairs that has amazing coffee, also great soup of the day. There is a really nice Koi pond in the front in the lobby, the security guards were friendly. Make sure you get a parking pass because if not it's about $30 a day for parking. The unit we stayed in had its own air conditioning, it also had free Wi-Fi, it has a kitchen and a living area. The unit we rented has a Murphy bed, and a balcony. There is amenities on the 6th floor, they also have laundry on the 7th floor and up. Although we were not able to use the washer on our floor we could still use the washer on the other floors, they have the washers and dryers set up for the pay range app which is helpful to download on your phone if you're staying in multiple...
Read moreIt was a nice place to stay in Waikiki for the price point of being affordable and yet close to the beach which is only two blocks away and close to restaurants as well walkable to many spots, has a great pool on the 6th floor which is accessible up to 9pm. The rooms are a bit dated but still comfortable for the families needs and the price point. Parking can be pricey but if you get the parking with the room it’s way cheaper. I only rented a vehicle for a couple of days and explored Waikiki by foot and that’s why the Banyan worked well being it was on the outer edge of Waikiki and yet you are still close to it all. The only downside is the elevators, 3 of the 4 are running but you will need to lineup to use the elevators they are not the quickest and they are always full unfortunately sometimes you may have to wait for a few elevators before one gets to get onto one especially if you have a child in a stroller. One washer and...
