BE CAREFUL!!!! DO NOT RENT FROM MIDWAY REALTY!!! I have NEVER written a bad review for a company before but feel like I need to warn people that are traveling to be extremely careful and to NOT stay in a rental from this company. We traveled to Hawaii as a family in April 2021. We rented an AirBnb for the week we were in Hawaii. The host was Midway Realty. We couldn't get into our unit when we arrived because they never changed the pin pad on the door lock box to our entry code (to the code they gave us) and instead left it on their standard code. We contacted them and they told us the standard code (gave us their standard code) and said that they would change the pin pad code to our code later (they're supposed to change it to the last 4 digits of your telephone number so it's secure and not their standard code that they can use to enter). The first day we were there a random cable guy showed up to complete work in the unit (with someone from midway realty). We weren't aware that he was coming and when we answered the door (we were just about to leave) they asked that we stay on site while he complete the work. The plumbing was broken in the kitchen and they told us a plumber would be by to fix it at some point and we would either need to stay in the unit and wait for the plumber or give the plumber permission to enter when we weren't there. The plumber showed up on the last day of our stay, so we couldn't use the kitchen sink for the entire stay (and if we had waited for his arrival, someone would have been sitting at the rental ALL week). On the last day that we were in Hawaii, we came back to our room and ALL of our suitcases were STOLEN!!!! The room had been ransacked. My daughters computer was stolen, a cell phone, all of our cell phone chargers, our suitcases, car keys to our cars parked in the airport lots at home, etc... We contacted Midway Realty right away to ask what to do. The police were contacted by the building security guard. Four police officers, the owner of Midway Realty, and the building security guard all showed up. A police report was filed. The owner of Midway Realty said he would reimburse us for missing items if AirBnb didn't cover everything. WE HAVE NOT BEEN REIMBURSED A SINGLE CENT TO DATE-OR RECIEVED A REFUND FOR ANY PORTION OF OUR RENTAL FROM MIDWAY REALTY OR AIRBNB. WE LOST ALL OF OUR CLOTHING AND HAD TO WEAR BATHING SUITS/WHAT WE HAD ON THE DAY OF THE ROBBERY FOR 2 DAYS STRAIGHT, THRU THE AIRPORT AND UNTIL WE ARRIVED HOME!! WE had to purchase new vehicle keys, cell phones, chargers, one laptop, and new clothes....still CRICKETS. We've gotten in touch with Airbnb and Midway Realty numerous times...it's been over 30 days...and nothing has been done. DON'T RENT WITH THIS COMPANY. IF YOU END UP BEING THE VICTIM OF A CRIME THEY DO NOTHING!!! They didn't offer to move us to a different rental for our last nights there, they didn't change the room code after the break in (which was 'still their general code'-clearly someone knew it and broke in with it-and only changed it after the incident upon a 2nd request from us). THEY ARE SKETCKY TO SAY THE LEAST!! THE TRAVEL ALL THE TIME, IN AND OUT OF THE COUNTRY AND HAVE NEVER BEEN ROBBED OR EXPERIENCED SUCH A LACK OF FOLLOW OR CONCERN. IF YOU'RE A TOURIST BEWARE. THEY'LL CLEARLY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT-as they STOPPED FOLLOWING UP/TEXTING US AS SOON AS THEY KNEW WE LEFT TO FLY BACK HOME AND THEY ONLY CONTACT HAS BEEN US TRYING TO GET IN...
Read moreMy wife and I found this condo to celebrate our one year anniversary for a total of a nine night stay. Overall, we were more than pleased with the room and our experience in Hawaii. We highly recommend and would stay here again if returning to the island.
Pros: -Wonderful views of the mountains and the city lights from the bedroom and living room. Sunrise is particularly beautiful. Being on the 37th floor helps give the great views. -All the furnishings are brand new and beautiful amenities as well. The owner really took the time and spent the money to provide an excellent experience. I'm talking about having aluminum foil for cooking, oven mits, oven pans, full set of silverware, plates, mugs, cups, salt and pepper, cooking spray, etc. Etc. Above and beyond what we expected. -comfortable bed, pillows, and furniture -hot water and good water pressure for showers -extras provided such as beach towels, beach chairs, ironing board, iron, laundry bag, etc. -access to pool, hot tub, grill and lounge area -2 block walk to the beach -walking distance to anything and everything in Waikiki. Shopping, restaurants, etc. -includes parking pass (normally $30.00/day) -cafe and small market in lobby of the banyon -well maintained property -hundreds of stations on the TV to choose from including movies -smooth operation overall including communication by owner and recommendedations given for visit -beautiful bright green parakeets that visited us in the mornings -plenty of towels -very reasonable price switch powered blinds and remotes for fans -coupon code to stay again
Cons: -A couple of times the sound wasn't working when watching the satellite/cable box. I don't think it was a TV issue because the over the air local stations always worked with sound -the key didn't work for the men's sauna and the womens was out of order -one night the fire alarm went off and the entire condo had to evacuate for 2 hours. The fire dept. Didn't know why it went off. Maybe was pulled by a guest? -The AC unit was a bit loud -that we had to leave

Read moreThe rental we booked through Midway at the Aqua Aloha Surf was very nice, and the location was great. However, we had a major issue with Midway. We arrived early and were told we could store our luggage at a certain location for a fee. We took a Lyft from the airport to that location. However, the luggage storage place had moved!!!! Our Lyft driver had already left, and we could not get another Lyft to take us to the new location, so we had to struggle with dragging all of our luggage over a mile. I called Midway to complain and they offered no solutions or compensation. The rental was at a hotel with a front desk. They stored luggage for other renters that booked through them. I am sure they would be happy to charge a fee to store other people's luggage. I am extremely disappointed with Midway and will NEVER book with them again! In addition, struggling with the luggage caused me to have severe back spasms all that night and I had to suffer all the next day while on the day long Pearl Harbor tour. This was our first time in Hawaii, and it was to celebrate our 50th anniversary. It ruined our first 2 days in Hawaii. ...
