Roaches in room, hair in bed, gunk in shower, and mold in work out room.
Upon checking in, I sat down at the desk in my room to begin doing some work, and saw a movement on the table top out of the corner of my eye. When I looked again, it had disappeared. So I continued working only to see another roach run right behind my laptop. I was able to use a washcloth to smash this second one.
As it was somewhat late, I finished up some work, then went to take a shower. In the shower, I noticed that the grate that normally covers the shower drain was propped up against the shower door. I thought that was odd, but left it as it was, and turned the shower water on. When the water hit the drain, dirt / gunk / hair splattered from around the drain onto the shower wall and floor. So as to not step on the gunk, I moved the shower head around to spray water and wash most back down the drain.
After taking a shower, I moved on to bed. I performed my usual bed bug check around the corners/seams of the mattress and all looked fine. Then when I went to get in bed, I noticed several longer brown hairs (not mine as I have short hair) on the comforter and throughout the bed. At this point I thought about calling the front desk, but being almost midnight and having an early morning I decided to just lay down and try to get some sleep. This proved a little difficult due to all of the noise of neighboring rooms.
The next day after finishing meetings at the office, I returned to the hotel, changed my clothes, and went to the hotel’s workout room, only to find a horrible moldy mildew stench as soon as I opened the door. I proceeded to do a set of curls, then wiped down the bench to do a set of bench presses only to see mold ALL over the ceiling tiles when I laid down on the bench. I immediately got up, put my weights up, and left the work out room, and called the Hilton customer support 1-800 number to discuss all of the concerns I had with the hotel.
The customer service rep noted down the various items, then confirmed the phone number and email where I could be reached and said they would be back with me within 3 days at the latest (this was Tuesday night). It is now Saturday, and I have not heard anything from the hotel.
I have stayed here many times before, but after this latest experience, I do not plan to return.
There are several other unacceptable items that my coworkers experienced as well, but I am just including only my firsthand...

Recently flying into Houston, we chose this location as they confirmed on several occasions a 24-hour shuttle service that was within minutes from the airport; extremely helpful since we'd be arriving at 12:45 am.
Upon landing, Hilton Garden Inn staff said they were unavailable for pickup. (They no longer offer airport shuttle services at that hour.) Upon arriving via ride share service, we waited a good 10 minutes along with another hotel guest and security for the front desk representative to saunter back to her post to open the front door. (Clearly she wasn't enthusiastic to do her job, nor pleasant or helpful.)
Nevertheless, we were able to check-in and get some rest. After a delicious breakfast, we asked the new front desk representative when the next shuttle would run. Since he retorted with a flat, "now," we waited another 30 - 45 minutes to retrieve our car rental from the airport. At this point we're just losing time to actually start our vacation so, we called for another ride share pickup. The trip thereafter was wonderful.
It should be noted for future guests, the "weekend crew" is a real piece of work to deal with. But on Sunday morning, everything changed. We were no longer getting our breakfast tickets one day at a time like children. Front desk representatives greeted you and fulfilled housekeeping requests quickly. Be patient with breakfast staff, they have a lot on their plates and it's worth the wait (highly recommend the pancakes or egg white power bowl). Also, keep in mind Covid precautions aren't really enforced here so protect yourself. Lastly, you'll need to request essential room cleaning or turndown services 24 hours in advance (read as non-existent for quick trips).
Good luck; hopefully you're overall stay is...
Read moreOne of the easiest experiences I have had. This trip I'm here due to personal/holiday travel and I'm heading back home. Because my location is about 1.5 hours from the airport I chose to use some points and get a spot near the airport and rental car facilities. THIS is literally RIGHT there for both spots plus they have a van for those that may need that option. I did everything via the app including picking my room and I used my digital key to enter the building and get in my room. I did chat with the front desk person for directions to the elevator. Other than that, it was really a contactless process. The room was ready and I was able to decompress. The only down spot I had was that the signal to the TV was wonky and I could only watch a couple of channels listed on the guide. But hey these days we can use our electronic devices. If I was going to stay longer, I would've contacted the front desk but it's no biggie. Law and Order SVU and 911 and NCIS: Los Angeles kept me company and I was good. :-)||I had a microwave, a refrigerator, a keurig and plenty of room. The only additional thing I needed was some caffeinated tea. They tend to give you coffee and then I had decaf tea. I need caffeine! LOL!||They have a very nice bar/lounge restaurant area. I almost wish I was here for one more night. But they did allow me a late check-out. (Thanks Russel!)||If you're looking for a cool clean hotel near Houston Hobby, check this one out.
