My partner & I got locked out of our room at 3am due to the key card terminal for our room not working around March 2024. The manager had to be called in and was trying to access the issue to restart it in case the batteries needed replacing so we could get into our room. My partner & I patiently waited although very tired and irritated since it was 3am for staff to get us into our room. The manager stated that he could not get the terminal to work and we would have to wait till morning to get our bags and have access to our room once they can call maintenance in the morning. Manager stated that they were fully booked and did not have another room to place us in at this hotel. Manager stated he could not have the hotel pay for another room at a different hotel even with the inconvenience. Manager stated he could not authorize that and it isn’t something La Quinta could do. I was very upset because I needed my belongings and could not access them. I asked the manager if they could unhinge the door or try to get in through the window of the room since it was on the 1st floor and he stated he couldn’t do anything like that. He even made it a point to tell us that he “understood our frustration because he had to wake up and be called in for this” and stated that “he was tired too” ….. OK but at least he had a place to go back to to sleep comfortably. At this point it’s 4am and surrounding hotels don’t have vacancy so the manager calls another la Quinta across town and AT LEAST offered us his employee discount which was appreciated. However the way this whole ordeal was handled and basically telling us “tough luck idk what you’re gonna do” was pathetic. What if we had medication in the room we needed to get to and couldn’t?? That would’ve been an even bigger issue if we couldn’t get into our room until morning. We had to pay for another room at a different hotel on top of only being refunded one night of our two night stay at the original location. We received a “coupon” for a free night during weekdays only to stay at that hotel for future use…. Never staying here at this location ever again. Maintenance doesn’t seem to be utd with quality control I guess. Huge inconvenience at such a inconvenient...
Read moreThe day of April 3rd my home had been exterminated by pest control. I am pregnant. We had left my home with open windows for various hours to let the chemicals go and cleaned. When night came.. we kept smelling the chemicals and my husband started to feel nauseous. It was around 4AM and we decided it was really bad to breath the air of the house so we decided to get a Hotel nearby. We chose La Quinta because of the flexibility of having pets stay with us. We were exhausted and frustrated of the situation that we just wanted to get to the hotel right away. As my husband was driving to the hotel I called the Reservation line (which by the way thought it was the Receptionist) lady said she had an available suite and said if I provided proof of Insurance she could lower room a little more. The nice lady on the phone stated she could leave the room for $75/night + $20 for pet fee and of course $100 retention fee just in case anything happens. I gave her my card information, phone #, name etc. Lady on the phone stated I would not be charged until I got to the hotel. Towards the end of the call she asked if I needed the confirmation number or if she wished for me to email it to me. I informed her I was right outside the hotel and can get it there. Lady said another lady by the name of Diamond would assist me. I appreciated the help and hung up. As I hung up the line I walked towards the hotel lobby.. receptionist asked for my information. None of my information popped up. She then asked for the confirmation number and when I tried looking in my email... there was nothing 😞 There I was with my husband, my pregnant self and my two dogs exhausted and frustrated. I had to end up paying $89/night plus the additional fees I was not charged twice but my frustration was added that day. I was completely Disappointed. Only reason why there are two stars and not one was because I had no problems with the receptionist nor the room in which I stayed in. I just wished Reservation line knew what to actually do when someone calls in around 4:30AM to reserve a room. Reservation line apologized about the mistake and had seen that it was their fault yet did not offer to make things right. Will no be...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would. I believe most of these positive reviews are planted if you pay close attention. My story started after traveling from La and my flight being delayed. I just came from staying at a La Quinta there no issues whatsoever. My husband is a rewards member through work and we have patronized the brand for well over 10 years. Arriving there at almost 1am and to be greeted with some jerk with an attitude about doing his job. First demanding a 100 deposit for a room already booked. I understand these hotels are franchise but if you want customers to come stay because of the reputation of the brand rise to the standard or just be a hourly establishment. 100 is excessive and not a Wyndham policy for rewards reservations for 3 days or less I’ve spoken to corporate previously about the same issue. This person could not care less and when I expressed frustration he threatened to cancel my reservation. Ok this is excessive so I try to reason that after a long day all he needed to do was authorize the card and give me a key. He can go back to what he was doing I can go to sleep. He tries to berate me the whole time and when he hands me the keys I asked for his name and he refused. So I snap a picture he tells me he’s canceling my keys and reservation after he authorized 100 on my card. So if I have to find another room that puts me more at an inconvenience not to mention it’s almost 130 am at this time. Then he threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave. So what was I supposed to do? Wait for the police stand my ground and hope they believe me. This is Texas and these are the kind of people being tasked to assist people just looking for rest. This was not the welcome home I wanted. Especially after having amazing travel to have to drive home in the middle of the night and wake up and commute to work on 6 hours of sleep. I’m sure I’ll get the manufactured response from management and nothing will be done. Means nothing people should know that this hotel entrusts their reputation to people like this. Do better I have already contacted corporate. Just sharing my nightmare at the front desk. I’d love to know this...
