My wife and I were in shopping center where Hong Kong Market was before Harvey flooded it out. We used to go to a Vietnamese restaurant there so we walked in, expecting a Pho restaurant. We were greeted by a nice man who I assume was the owner. He explained that now this was a restaurant featuring Honduran food. He said, “don’t worry, our food is great!” We said OK, as we’re always up for some different kind of food. The food was wonderful! They first brought out some Chips with a black bean sauce, it was tasty. I ordered Tacos Catrachos and my wife ordered Sopa de res (beef soup) which had bananas, carrots, cassava root, corn and beef. Both dishes were fantastic. The tacos were crispy and rolled and fried with chicken inside. There were red onions and maybe red cabbage as well as cheese. It was a large portion, and tasted great! The food, servers, and atmosphere are all about bringing a piece of their home and it may not be the most comfortable for those unfamiliar with similar spots. I had placed my order to go, Beef soup, and it took a long time to receive my order. The soup was placed in a Large Drinking cup for soda drinks, needless to say that the hot soup melted the lid, and deformed the styrofoam cup so I was left with a bag of soup.
