The atmosphere feels good, but you have to order right away, bearly had any time to look at the menu . The cashier was quick ,but messed up my order. First I was refunded for a couple of shakes I ordered. They said the machine wasn't working ,but I think they had cleaned it already and didn't want to use it. My boys got the wrong fries and I had to ask about the beer I ordered because a while had passed and I thought they might have forgotten it. The bartender was really cool, he got me the beer ,but mentioned he never got a receipt for it. I asked if it was necessary for me to talk to the cashier ,but the bartender said it wasn't necessary, that left me with a feeling of having done something wrong. Maybe its just me or maybe this visit was doomed from the beginning. When I ordered at the register I asked specifically if they could make that drink right after they told me they couldn't make the shakes and the cashier answered that they could. My daughter kept waiting for a midnight mocca she ordered, I asked for it ,but again they said they couldn't make it because of the broken machine and it had been refunded. I had no way to know because I never got a receipt. When the busboy brought the fries I told him that one of them was wrong, he said he would check ,but never returned to the table. I told myself that maybe they were too busy ,but then again the place was maybe to a 25-30% capacity. To top it off I saw the busboy using a fry plate to push down on the trash. Bathrooms weren't clean either. Not everything is bad , my burger was delicious, I wish they were bigger, but they are very juicy and they have very good recipes. We tried the Nashville hot chicken, the Doddy melt ,the classic burger and the Magic shroom. They were all very tasty ,but me personally, I was impressed with the flavor of that Magic shroom. I also like the beer. I would go back , of course I expect to see some improvement...
Read moreCashier Louis: Told me I couldn’t get my strips well done nor could I get them spicy. I advised him I order them the same exact way everytime and asked to speak with a supervisor. Supervisor Chris: Told me ALL HopDoddy’s practice the same method. I advised him as well that I have been to several and have ordered the same thing with no problem. I called the River Oaks location and had the worker on speaker, with Chris listening. I Asked her if I can order a kids meal well done spicy. She confirmed I can. She stated that it prob depends on the location. I said “and what the person looks like ordering” she laughed and said YES! I asked Chris Supervisor to place my order. He told me to leave and will not help me. I am an African American women, dressed down with a baseball cap. So I asked him does my appearance have anything to do with it? Is he racially profiling me? He started yelling and asked me to leave the store. I then asked for the store managers info. Manager MK: I explained what took place. She even remembered my order from all of the previous times I’ve visited and apologized. Confirmed I was right. Both her employees were wrong. She then told me she’d call Chris and have them make my order. MK was GREAT!!
I walked back in. Employees were looking at me with disdain.
Louis: Came from the back and walked through the kitchen VAPING. I told him I saw him and he appeared to be confused. He took my order.
It was a a girl behind the register that seemed to be pissed that I was back. Nasty attitude.
Food was great!
Overall, I definitely felt like I was treated differently from the other customers because of how I was dressed and the color of my skin. Will NEVER go back to that location and it’s 5 mins...
Read moreBefore I start bashing this location I want to say that I am the biggest Hopdoddy fan out there. Been following them since 2011 in their early South Congress days in Austin. I live in Houston but even then, I used to make the drive for a delicious Goodnight burger and come back on the same day. It is my favorite restaurant of all time, and I was SO happy when they finally made it to Houston.
However, the location closest to me, the one in Town and Country, is the most mismanaged, and poorly attended location of them all. I went a few days ago, got an order of fries that were so hard and chewy I could not even keep eating. They were kind enough to give me another order… but the problem persisted! Same thing.
The buns were different, even the Llano Pobalo wasnt even the usual Llano Pobalo, its like they completely changed the recipe. Very sad!
All of this to say, dear community manager, please send this note to the pertaining parties and take action, dont let one location misrepresent all of what your team has worked so hard to achieve.
I’ll see you in the Galleria or any other Houston branch (except for...
