I’ve been coming to Life Time at CityCentre on and off over the years—mainly due to work-related schedule changes—but every time I return, I’m reminded why this location is truly the best in Houston. And I say that confidently, having visited other Life Time locations both here and beyond.
What makes this one stand out? Yes, the location is beautiful. Yes, the amenities are top-tier. But it’s the people—the culture, the vibe, and the way everyone works together—that set it apart.
I truly believe that starts at the top. The new manager clearly has the respect of both the staff and the members. You can feel it in how smoothly everything runs and how welcoming the energy is from the moment you walk in.
I want to give a special shoutout to Michael, the young man who helped sign me up. From the moment we met, I could tell this guy is going places. Originally from New York (which you can definitely hear when he talks—haha), Michael shared with me that Life Time’s ethos is: “We want our guests to leave with a smile.” And I have to say—I’ve never left without one. Every visit leaves my mind, body, and soul refilled, ready to take on the world again.
Michael is not only knowledgeable, but kind, professional, and genuinely excited to see others feel good. Whoever raised him should know—they did an amazing job.
The rest of the team deserves praise too:
The front desk staff are always well-dressed and welcoming—seriously, some of the best first impressions in any gym I’ve been to.
The café team is friendly, fast, and consistently delicious, and it’s always great to see and chat with familiar faces like Jess and Jasmine.
The locker room staff keep everything spotless, and they’ve helped me more times than I can count with those tricky locker resets (thank you!).
The group instructors, especially in yoga, are phenomenal. I want to give a special shoutout to Stacey P., who helped me conquer my first Shirshasana (headstand)—something I never thought I’d be able to do.
If you’re looking not just for a gym, but for a genuine lifestyle upgrade, this is it.
Do yourself a favor—try this location. You might walk in for a workout, but you'll leave with...
Read moreThe City Centre/Town &country location in Houston, TX seriously the personnel are as SHADY snakes in the grass!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, HIDDEN charges, from the top down ASHLEY whoever she is- is clueless but cunning, BRAD-GM, RYAN whatever he does--as of Nov 9, 2013! the greeter/card checkers are nice but clueless beyond taking your card/ID! They are ALL super nice when you're joining etc. There's "NO contract" supposedly but you get charges up the wazoo without KY Jelly if you try to leave! Before you join -Do ask questions on how they handle different scenarios so you know how they deal. They are all about MONEY guys. NICE place with HORRIBLE CS=ANGRY customers. IF you need to cancel beware, they say one thing and do another. They don't keep their word or their contract. IF you cancel you will get charged EXORBITANT extra 2month charges even if you can't participate there's no way to make that up. If you get injured and need medical leave just KNOW that they will charge your account no matter what after 3 months whether or not you can't come into the luxury facility or not... never mind your leg is still in a cast, you have a Cranial brain bleed and a doctors note! This place is all about the money. I totally get keeping the cost elevated to keep a good clientele but just because we are professionals we can tell when we they are full of BS... There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for charging your account for things you did not sign up for. This place is nice and elite but BEWARE of charges, and ASHLEY and BRAD, and RYAN who only gave partial information about cancellation policy etc. SHADY PEOPLE. BEWARE and read everything. they expect you to be busy or because a person may have expendable resources to NOT CARE about a few hundred wasted here or there. But I guess they have to pay the mortgage somehow by cheating people out of their money...everyone wants their...
Read moreCon#1- I come here to steam and the women’s steam sauna is literally always broken. Six months ago, I reached out to the general manager to inquire why it’s always broken and she actually responded by telling me she’s never heard of it being broken. I’ve been a member for a year and it’s literally broken every other week. I don’t usually ask why. One time it was broken because the employee said she left it open too long while hosing it down. Today is Saturday morning and the employee said it’ll be broken until the technician can come out on maybe Monday.
Con#2- Also 90% of the staff have RBF. Most of the staff are men. And almost all the male staff especially the men at the front desk and near the pool make zero eye contact and never greet, smile, or acknowledge. I usually smile and greet people when I enter and exit their establishment. After a year of coming here sometimes twice in a day (sometimes once before the kids wake and again later with the kiddo), I don’t know why I still try to make eye contact when I arrive or leave. It’s really awkward. So overall not the warmest place. But it’s the closest gym to our home and the steam room works 50% of the time. So it guess it’ll have to do.
Con#3- The showers are not great. The water pressure has gone from “if we try five different showers, we can find one with ok water pressure” to “ok wow the water is barely drip leaking. I wish I could be anywhere else showering.” Also a lot of the shower doors don’t stay closed. Meaning: I step inside and try to close the door and it swings open no matter how hard I try. I come here so often I just know which stalls are tolerable.
Pro1- It’s super super close to where I live. Pro2- There’s a sub teacher for a class I like. She subs often. And I like her class. Hope she gets a regular class. Pro3- It’s always clean. There are always towels in the women’s...
