I don't believe in leaving a negative review unless I think it's absolutely warranted. I was recently encouraged by the sight of security officers being posted inside the parking garage. I even saw a fancy security truck stationed on the first floor for deterrence, but frankly, I'm troubled by the fact that every single officer I've seen has been sitting and scrolling on their devices (phones). Every single one. I've yet to see just one officer not distracted by their phones. They're usually sitting between both entrances and totally mesmerized by their devices. Why do business with a security company who can not honor the very thing it was contracted to do? How often are these officers making rounds, because it seems the chair they sit on is attached to their bottoms and their devices super glued to their hands! What unsettles me most is that they don't even try to hide it. A miraculous occasional glance every now and then when I'm driving in or out, but they remain undeterred and fixated on their gadgets. It would help if people started being held accountable for not doing what they are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMixed feelings on this. Upon entering, there was a man who asked me for cash after I took a ticket. I was confused because I saw someone exiting who still had to pay when they left. I asked if I still had to pay again when I left, or if he was going to write down somewhere or give me a receipt proving I paid cash. He said no, so I paid $10 and had to drive all the way to the very top floor (floors 1-5 are contract or reserved). The garage is very small and very dirty. The elevators were creaky, dirty and smelly. As I walked out of the elevator to go to the street, I asked when I had to return for my car the next day without being charged again, and he said if I parked overnight I had to pay another $10 = $20 total for 1 night. Seemed really sketchy, but it was night time so I just paid and left.
Overall, my car was fine the next day and I didn't pay again upon leaving. I was worried all night though that maybe I got scammed as some other reviewers had. I would NOT park here again just for the confusion,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolute scam of a garage. Their price used to be $7.99 for 12hrs. Broken elevator, stinky, place, but hey, $8 is cheap for parking downtown. They recently bumped up the price to $10. Still not awful, it's a block from Main St and around all the offices.
I was recently charged $80 for an "event rate" due to the Astros game. $80 for a garage that hasn't fixed their elevator months, hasn't picked up trash I've seen all over the place, and is generally overall disgusting. There are surface lots right next to Minute Maid for half the price. Never go here, because you may end up with a random "event rate" of $80 for a garage that's barely worth...
