I’m a frequent Hilton hotels visitor and have always been impressed by the staff’s professionalism and hospitality. This was very much not the case at this location. ||Our first morning, the breakfast was supposed to begin at 7AM. It began at 8:30ish and was not even fully ready at all. We had to dodge the workers who were frantically trying to get things out. Some staple breakfast items didn’t even come out (eggs) and there were French fries instead of breakfast potatoes. Our sausage was cold and hard. Guests were all over the place because we all had been waiting and waiting for the food to come out, so things were running out almost instantly too. No staff apology at all for this major inconvenience. A manager was walking around with a tablet but seemed hesitant to stop and talk to guests because he probably knew how annoyed/angry we all were.||I also woke up to a very painful surprise that morning: stepping on a small piece of glass in my room that cut my foot. Since breakfast already made us late to our activities that day, I had no time to stop and tell the front desk about this until the next day at check out. When I told them at check out, I was made to feel like I was in the wrong for not reporting it immediately. Front desk worker also did not ask how my stay was which is something you are typically always asked at hotel check outs. Filed an incident report with the manager on duty who was nice enough to get that accomplished but I had to request a copy of the report, which is something you think they’d offer a copy of. I also had to request a copy of my receipt. ||After reviewing my receipt, I called the next day to get clarity on what my final charge would be and the guy who checked me out was the one to answer my call. He very rudely mansplained to me that I was seeing confusing charges on the receipt because I made a mistake by telling him about the glass after he “clicked the button” to check me out. Blaming the customer again, not a good look. He kept talking over me when I was trying to complete my question, ASSuming he knew what I was trying to say. He didn’t. I ended the call saying thank you to which he responded “Yup” and hung up on me. ||I will post the few good highlights to explain giving 2 stars instead of 1: |-breakfast on second day went much smoother and tasted a bit better|-bed was comfortable |-front desk guy gave my kids some snacks while we were waiting to check out due to the incident report taking longer|-I was offered a discount for the...
Read moreStayed here this past weekend for the world robotics competition (April 2025). Hotel is new so the rooms are very clean and staff is wonderful. However, I don't think we'll be staying here again. We got to our room at around 10:00 PM. We discovered that the cold water in the sink was not working and it was scalding hot to the point we couldn't even properly wash our hands. We reported the issue to the front desk the next morning. During the afternoon, I initiated a chat with Hilton to check on the status. They informed me that the repair was still not done and they would take care of it. We get to our room at around 7:00 PM to find that the maintenance person left their tool there and the water still wasn't working properly in the sink. I went downstairs and was told it would take about a day or two to fix the faucet. Naturally I was annoyed as a courtesy text message or phone call would have been nice by the hotel staff. They offered me another room so we packed everything and switched to different room on a lower floor. We get to the room, unpack and decide to just put on Live TV to see what's on. It wasn't working. Call the front desk and was told this is a hotel-wide issue and it will take a day or two to fix it. Seriously? Thankfully I was able to log into my Netflix account and just stream some stuff. The hotel is off the beaten path in a desolate area and we heard what seemed like drag racing every night. On the last day, there was an armed security guard so I'm thinking something must have happened to prompt that action. Again, very nice staff, but I won't be staying here when we return for next year's...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel about a week ago, while in town for Nostalgia Con at George R. Brown Convention Center. It was about a 10 min walk from this hotel. There is construction going on around the hotel but it was still easy to pull up and drop off the car and to walk around if needed. Valet is offered at $56/day, if I remember correctly. You can also park in the parking garage across the street for $35/day. I opted for valet which you can see the valet parking lot area from my pic with the pool. They have a gate that closes at night so I felt like my car was pretty safe. This hotel offers a free breakfast buffet which was nice but like others have said, they start to run out of food pretty fast. We got down there around 8am and it was slim pickings, but we made it work, because it saved us from buying 1 meal. The hotel itself is very clean and all the staff we came in contact with was nice. They have some games in the lobby area that you can play, we spent about an hour down there on Saturday night after going to meow wolf. They also have a station with coffee, tea bags, and hot chocolate packages for the guest to use. The little store is where the microwave is located. We didn't use it but one night we were just wondering around and I stopped to look at the foods they offered. Overall my girls and I enjoyed this hotel and would definitely stay again when we come back in town for...
