my stay at Baymont Wyndham suites 8110 old Troy Pike Huber Heights Ohio. I recently booked a stay through Booking.com and when I checked in I spoke with a gentleman at the front desk as I was making the reservation. I admittedly was rushing and clicked two rooms which defaulted to two adults one per each room. I was not aware at the time that this happened. Nor did The front desk clerk realize that. I had a conversation with the gentleman while checking in. I told him I had five girls I was there for her birthday we were having a party. we wanted to know when the pool was available what were the hours. It was not till the morning did I realizeI was checked in apparently under the two adults one per each room with no children being added. That next morning Shyanna who was working the front desk; barged into the pool room and blurted out “what room are you staying in?” I told her my room numbers she looked at me and then announced “they can’t be swimming”. I was confused and I asked why? she stated then at that point that I had checked in for two rooms, two adult, one adult per room. I felt she was accusing me of lying the way that she said it. Like I had snuck children to swim in this pool. She asked did my children stay the night? And informed me it was going to cost me extra for them to be swimming. I told her that I had expressed this to the front desk employee he knew I had these children why did he not double check or help me correct my booking reservation for the room, and add my children? I was being Punished for his error. She was very rude the whole entire time. I definitely felt attacked. her tone was very condescending. I told her don’t worry about it actually we don’t need to swim in your pool, we’ll go ahead and leave we’re checking out at 11. This was at 10 AM, we packed our bags and we were gone from the hotel by 1058. when I got home the next day And checked my account. I saw that I had extra charges for 200 and the other was 50. When I called to speak To someone about it. Shyanna answered the phone. She told me that I had smoked in the room. It smelled of smoke, I had a high fragrance candle from white barn that I burned in the room because the room reeked of cigarettes. I asked for proof of the said smoking that I was being charged for. Then the charge for $50 was for strawberry stains on a sheet. Yes my 10 month old ate a strawberry on the bed and before we could get her hands clean she printed strawberry juice on the sheet. I know strawberry washes out in the laundry. I feel these charges applied to my account were out of spite because I informed her how unprofessional she was and how rude and petty it was that she approached me and my children in the manner that she did. When I called this morning to get a manager‘s information and owners name to know who I would need to call to talk to you about this situation. I was told that the manager was not there. Shyanna couldn’t tell me who the manager is she couldn’t tell me if the hotel was owned by Baymont Wyndham suites company. she couldn’t give me a phone number or even a time or a day that a manager would be present in the hotel. I got given this email, so I’m emailing this information and I’m requesting a complete refund for my stay. I’ve never been so rudely treated or disrespected by any hotel staff member. I’m not a smoker. I burned a candle admittedly and told her that I burned a very fragrant perfume candle. I am pretty sure you’re allowed to burn candles in a...
Read moreThis was hands down the WORST experience I have ever had with a hotel. I checked in for a two night stay with my family, the lobby was unassuming. The man at the front desk stated that I needed to pay 131 dollars. I tried to explain the hotel had been booked and paid for through Expedia and I had never had to pay when I’ve booked through Expedia. He stated that he wasn’t charging my card, I assumed it was for incidentals despite the odd amount. We spent time with family in the pool that evening after being out for the day. While in the pool a staff member came in and asked what room we were, I told her 217. She proceeded to tell me that we had a noise complaint from 117. I thought this was odd considering we were out for the day but brushed it off. The next evening when we returned from another day out, we saw a woman doing drugs in the stairwell, I was thankful it was just me and not my children. Upon checking out I requested an itemized bill which clearly showed that I was charged for the room that I had already paid for through Expedia. I called and requested to speak to the manager, Desirae. She stated that my card was not charged and not even on file, which was impossible considering I had been charged and the charge was pending. When presented with this information Desirae changed her story stating that my bank had to release the money. Two days later the charge showed as completed. I called the hotel again and talked to a different lady, she was incredibly helpful and kind, unlike Desirae, and stated that she saw the charge and unfortunately didn’t have the power to reverse it. I had to escalate my complaint all the way up to Wyndham to have this resolved. I have never had an experience this terrible and would recommend if you don’t want to be scammed to stay far far away from this Baymont and Desirae’s shady...
Read moreThis hotel has generated many negative reviews, and some make good points, but others seem wildly ‘off.’ Here’s our experience, based on two rooms, one night.|Pros:|Very affordable rates, especially for Wyndham members. |Easy to find location, brightly lit parking lot. |Friendly night receptionist (we arrived 11 pm). |Normal sized bedroom with comfortable King bed.|Bathroom adequate, with DOVE soaps; decent water pressure & temperature for shower; okay towels.|Refrigerator & microwave & coffee equipment w/ supplies.|Iron & ironing board.|TV (did not use).|Plenty of lights & outlets.|Effective a/c unit.|Room was quiet and clean.|Elevator available.|Free breakfast: hot & cold drinks, eggs, sausage links, biscuits & gravy, waffles & muffins & toast, cereals, yogurt, apples.|NOTE: Waffle House and other chain restaurants within walking distance.||Cons:|2 of the 4 key cards were faulty.|Sheets felt cheap and didn’t fit the bed well.|1 bedside light didn’t work – housekeeping should check this routinely.|Room furniture showing signs of wear.|Curtains okay, but not blackout.|A few hairs in bathtub/shower, but these can easily be missed by housekeeping.|A/C unit grill full of dust & fluff: clearly needs cleaning.|Small indoor pool was closed b/c of chlorine imbalance.|Sterile atmosphere – rooms & long corridors with no artwork or decoration.||Conclusion:|This is a good overnight option, especially for those on a budget. If the pool is open, this is a great option for young families. Paying with cash or debit card incurs a security deposit, but this isn’t needed if using a credit card: anyone complaining about this clearly hasn’t stayed much in hotels recently. |Cleaning the grills of the a/c units and upgrading the bed sheets should be the hotel’s...
