DELIVERY FAIL!!! My wife and I went to Haverty's in November and ordered 2 couches and a chair. The salesperson Sarah was helpful and purchase was fairly easy. We knew going into the purchase that it would take 4 months to receive them and we were fine with that timeline. The delivery has been a NIGHTMARE that won't end!!! We were given a dock date of 1st week of March, then the 1st week of March they said 1st week of April, them 1st of May, then June sometime. I get an email mid-May saying schedule delivery, which we promptly do for May 20th. We are given a time window which seems great 1:30-3:30. We were stop 5, at 1:30 they weren't even to stop #2 in Indiana 1.5 hours away from our home. Called customer service several times and tried several suggestions that were all shot down. We had to take delivery whenever they showed up at maybe 4:30-6 or cancel and reschedule. My wife had to work and our son had a baseball game so we had to cancel. They wouldn't move our delivery spot up to come before and wouldn't move it last to avoid the game. So on the phone for the 5th time, we cancel and the supervisor moves delivery to May 21at 3-4. We don't get the handy email with the truck tracker but they assure us its on the schedule. We call again in the morning to verify the time because our son had prom and we both wanted to be there for pictures. For sure they are coming 3-4, IT'S 8:30 PM and no couches, no phone call, and Haverty's is closed for the night, so no one to even talk to at this point. We are so angry and disappointed at the complete lack of communication, lack of concern for the activities that we changed and missed to "make it work" with Haverty's and they gave us NOTHING. No common courtesy, I am so sick of the Covid excuses for poor customer service, poor management, and utter contempt for people spending a lot of hard earned money and getting grief in return. I strongly suggest you go anywhere but here for your furniture.
Update Just wanted to post an update. We were contacted by management and I was pleasantly surprised by their responsiveness and total acceptable of responsibility. Manager didn't make excuses and fixed the issue as quickly as he was able to. As with much of the country, they are facing staffing issues and we believe are trying their best to get the product to customers. We are happy with our purchase and upon reflection, we have purchased from Haverty's in the past and...
Read moreThe initial experience was good...friendly and helpful staff (although pushy). We purchased a bedroom suite there. I feel that they are way overpriced. We chose what we felt was one of the most reasonably-priced bedroom suites they had. I was expecting good quality since it came from Haverty's and thought it would be durable. I have never purchased furniture with such cheap wood. After having the furniture for a short time, we noticed some scuff/scratch marks on a couple of pieces. We are not hard on furniture. We take care of our things. We had purchased the protection plan so we filed a claim. A man was sent out to inspect the furniture. He said that one scuff mark could be buffed out and he did that for us. He said the other mark was a scratch and couldn't be repaired. With the protection plan, items are covered for repair or replacement (if it can't be repaired). He contacted the company and was told that our bedroom suite was discontinued. We were told that we had two options. First one was to accept a voucher for the cost of the furniture and to come into the store and purchase another bedroom suite. Second option was to accept a refund for the amount of the protection plan we purchased. We went to the store and looked at every bedroom furniture they had. Unfortunately, the prices were $2,000 - $3,000 more than what we originally paid for ours. I honestly don't think those were good options, but we were stuck with making that decision. We didn't want to pay more so we accepted the small refund. Once that was done, we had no protection if anything else happened to our furniture. My opinion and advice is to definitely shop around and remember that purchasing the protection plan doesn't always help. Ask questions and read...
Read moreI bought a huge $3000 sectional from them. Literally a few months in, the stuffing is falling flat on the cushions and the back cushions are sinking down. 2 of the cushions ripped at the seams. It took them 5 months to get someone out to replace everything. Now for the customer service part: The guy called and said he'd be to my house in 20 minutes. 3 hours later my husband tells me he's been waiting all day and the guy still isn't there. After multiple calls from me and from havertys going unanswered, I get a call 4 hours after our appointment. He claims he came and knocked and no one answered so he left. I said well my husband has been home all day. I just spoke with you 20 minutes before that why didn't you call. He then gets a huge attitude, repeating that he knocked and doesn't have time to sit around all day because he has other customers. He then said I can be there in 45 minutes and I said that won't work it's the end of the day so then he says well call and reschedule then and HUNG UP THE PHONE!!! I was furious at this point. So I call customer service. The customer service rep doesn't even apologize for the behavior of the tech. I got nothing from anyone until I finally asked to speak to a supervisor who informed me that policy is in fact to call the customer if no one answers the door and that he only had a few customers that day and wasn't too busy to pick up the phone. All in all, the customer service is terrible, the full warranty is useless if it takes 6 months to get the parts to you, and the super expensive couch pretty much looks like a joke piece I put in my living room. Unfortunately I can't give it back because I would literally eat my money and go buy another couch...
