This was April 2021. I’ve stayed in other Aloft Hotels. This was for my anniversary. NEVER AGAIN! I STILL HAVE NEARLY $1,000 PENDING ON MY CARD FOR A $220 STAY!!!?!?? First, I booked through Priceline with Apple Pay, received an email confirmation and thought everything was good to go. When I arrive to check in, the receptionist tells me my card was declined and I need to provide another payment method. I’ve never had Apple Pay decline before, but since it was through Priceline I’m not going to automatically blame the hotel. The receptionist tells me I need to provide another card, so I use my discover. The hotel was supposed to be $220, but after I put my card in the reader I get a text from discover telling me a charge of $327 has been made on my card. The receptionist tells me it was declined and to put it in again. Before thinking, I just do as she says and get another text. $299 pending. Receptionist says it’s declined again and I should call my credit card company for an authorization code. I show her the $600+ pending on my bank app and call the card company. Discover tells me both charges are pending on their end and the receptionist needs to call her credit card merchant because they are the ones declining the card. The only way for discover to give an authorization code is for a new transaction. ALL THE WHILE, the receptionist is arguing with me, arguing with the discover agent, saying she “does this every day and knows what she’s talking about.” Frustrated at waiting at the lobby for 45 minutes and just having drive over 2 hours to get to the hotel, I give discover the okay to make a new transaction. So my card is basically maxed out for the weekend of our anniversary. The manager said he would call the merchant and have them drop the pending transactions ASAP but because it was the weekend it may not get done immediately. Well, it’s Wednesday and I still have over $1,000 pending. Oh, and the manager said he’s seen it happen before, and the receptionist was wrong, my card wasn’t declined, it is your credit card merchant. So why aren’t you training your employees?

Before my stay in June, I was a fan of Aloft. I arrived late but had maintained communication with Aloft letting them know I was going to be late. I arrived around 11 pm. When I arrived there was no one at the front desk so I had to wait a bit until a young man appeared. I checked in and went up to my room. As I was getting settled I saw an unwanted visitor, a large roach. I called the front desk immediately. They told me I could either come to the front desk to switch rooms or check out. Without hesitation I chose to check out! I let the young man at the front desk see the picture I took of the large roast. I asked him for my bill. He then proceeded to tell me he wasn’t sure if the manager would be charging me for the room, give me my money back or discount the room. I let him know I needed the manager to contact me because there should be no charge for the room because I was there less than an hour and the room had a roach in it! Needless to say the manager didn’t call so I called 3 days in a row to reach one. When I did the manager apologized for not getting back to me but pretty much let me know I’d be charged the discounted rate I got through Hotwire. I let her know that was unacceptable. She didn’t offer to discount room further or a discount rate on another stay, nothing. Needless to say I was not happy with that low level of customer service! I called Hotwire and let them know the situation. Hotwire apologized for Aloft. They knew I was there a little less than an hour and said they would refund the amount paid. I will definitely use Hotwire again but will never stay with Aloft again!

Three stars might be generous. But when it comes to hotels, I already have low expectations. The bed was comfortable and on a weeknight it was quiet. But this place has a lot of design flaws. They’re supposedly pet friendly and pets are allowed in the lobby, but nowhere near the dining room area. The only problem is, there’s no clear demarcation between the two areas. The hallways were dark and gloomy - it’s like they were going for a “1970s contemporary” look, and not succeeding, with their dark blue and burnt orange. They didn’t have a clock of any sort. So bring your smartphone. The ironing board was definitely subpar. The remote control to the TV didn’t work right - at times you could hear sound but the screen was black. My fiancée had to work on it to get it to work right. The shower wouldn’t drain properly. And it’s like the toilet was designed for someone 3 or 4 ft tall - it probably sat around 10 inches off the floor. But they charge you as though you’re staying in a much better place than you actually are. Won’t be booking there again…

It was my fiance's birthday this past weekend, and I surprised him with a stay at this hotel & concert tickets, needless to say this was a special weekend. When I made my reservation online, I requested a late check-out. Upon arrival, Sarah (who was wonderful!) not only checked me in quickly, but was also informative! I mentioned we were in town for a concert, as well it our first stay in an Aloft hotel. She pointed out the breakfast area, answered all of my questions, including the bar times, and mentioned how close the hotel was located to some restaurants where we could have a nice dinner. I double checked and confirmed that we had a late check-out for 2pm. The rest of our stay was wonderful, until morning. We went downstairs for breakfast, where we were confused when there wasn't anyone to take our breakfast order. I approached the front desk, where a manager was talking to the front desk agent, both who could see me standing there, waiting for help. After a few minutes the front desk agent was finally able to break away from the conversation and help us out. Again, the front desk agent was informative, helpful and polite. A few hours later, we awoke to housekeeping knocking on our door even though we had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door handle. We politely explained we had a late check out, and she apologized. Then, 10 minutes later we interrupted AGAIN but this time with a loud, aggressive pounding on our door. When my fiance opened the door, it was the same manager whom ignored us at breakfast. He did not mention his name, or the reason behind the rude knocking and proceeded to be very short & demanding when he spoke to my fiance. All he is said was (as soon as the door opened) "Checking out?" My fiance responded, we had a late check-out for 2pm. The manager replied, "Mhm. Are you sure?" My fiance then explained we had confirmed it with front desk at check in. The manager nodded his head and walked away. He did not mention his name, nor did apologize for the inconvenience or explain what the issue was. It was very rude and we instantly felt un-welcomed, as if we were being asked to leave so they could get the next guest into our room. We quickly packed our bags and left. It was a horrible feeling, as if we had done something wrong. To top it all off, since we left in a hurry I had left the concert tickets in the hotel safe. We had already driven the hour back home when I caught the mistake, so I instantly called the hotel. Thank the heavens Sarah answered the phone, even remembered me, and the importance of those tickets. She explained a manager would go check on the tickets and would call me back. Lucky enough, I had made a copy of those tickets because otherwise we would have missed the concert. We received no call back, but instead after an hour & half of no word I called the hotel to discover front desk had them. Since we picked up the copy tickets while waiting for a call-back, we did not need to return to the hotel. I would not recommend this property because of the lack of the care we received, the overwhelming feeling of unwelcoming, and the poor attitude of the manager in the morning. As a Starwood Preferred Guest, I expected a wonderful time for my fiances birthday, this was nothing...

Wow this hotel actually blew me away, and exceeded my expectations. It’s in a very nice location Las Colinas with a lot of nearby restaurants and beautiful area to go out or walk around at night. Safe and convenient. The hotel is very upscale I would even give it a 4 star compared to other three star hotel competitors. I usually don’t do a review unless I’m really dissatisfied by a place but I had to do one for this hotel because I was really amazed how pleasant my stay was, it was a very much needed getaway weekend. The decor and art work in the lobby were fabulous makes you feel happy and welcomed. The staff especially the front desk are so polite and professional. Welcoming, attentive, even after we left and they have a mini store in the lobby, free ice that is packaged and sealed. Yes they absolutely follow covid procedures very well I must say, which for one was my major concern but my husband and I really needed a mini vacay from our personal lives, without going out of town because of work. The cost for our two nights and three day stay was just affordable and not so costly, even booked with Expedia a third party vendor. Not to forget they’re eco-friendly and very clean! The rooms are just so well kept and you feel very much at home. Didn’t even feel like we were not in our apartment. You can tell it’s very modern and up to scale not dirty or boring. I still wipe down and clean before using anything but I was really shocked how super clean the room was didn’t even find any dust anywhere. Bathroom and shower very clean, and they don’t give you those mini size shampoo and conditioner bottles that are honestly so useless. They have a pump inside, installed in the shower attached to the wall you can use as much as you want. No room keeping because of covid regulations which is understandable but you don’t even have to worry about anything because the front desk are very attentive and almost anything you need they provide it for you. Someone is there 24/7. We definitely will be coming back loved everything. The only con I probably would mention is the air conditioning in the room could be a bit noisy when your sleeping but it’s not that big of a deal. No parking fees, and they have a large parking lot. Even if they allow pets we were not at all disturb by any. We only noticed walking out of our rooms, while going to the elevator we had a pet next door but never inside the room did we hear any barking. Besides that I really recommend this hotel vs. others in the area if your looking for cleanliness, cost, and service. Great job Marriott you never seem to disappoint in or...

Aloft is a budget hotel option in the Marriott brand. If you are looking for a place that will recognize Marriott status then this isn’t it. We are BonVoy platinum members and received none of the benefits that come with the status (welcome gift, free breakfast/F&B credits, offered early check-in/late check-out, offered room upgrade, etc) despite the hotel being extremely slow (kind of looked deserted tbh). Staff were friendly and helpful though they offered nothing that they were supposed to for our BonVoy status. Rooms were decently clean and there was a good amount of space. The hotel was on the lower end of most hotels we stay at and it was evident in the details. Beds were comfortable though not as much as the nicer hotels and they use cotton pillows. These things aren’t really important to me as long as I can get a good night sleep (which I was able to do) but I do know it’s very important to some, so if bed comfort is top priority then you may want to consider another hotel. There were some quirky things with the room that were a little annoying as well. The shower temperature was impossible to get right. I don’t know if it was our room specifically but the temp would go from steaming hot to cold with nothing in between. We even sat there and slowly adjusted the water by about a cm or so at a time and waited a couple of minutes between each adjustment to see if it just took time for the temperature change to occur. It did not. It would stay scalding hot until you reached a certain point where it would just become cold. Another mildly annoying quirk is that the toilets would not flush unless you stood there holding the handle down until all the water in the tank had drained and even then would just barely flush. There is no onsite restaurant but the hotel is in a complex with restaurants and a Starbucks that are all within a couple minute walk. There is a gym and pool, both small but decent. The bar area is open from 5pm-11pm and there is a little area with snacks and beverages just off the front desk that you can get at any time as well. Parking is complimentary and there is a lot of it so no problems there. Overall just an ok hotel but if I’m being honest I probably won’t stay again. You can get cheaper accommodations at other places like a Fairfield, Courtyard, or Residence inn with similar or better quality for much less. ||Customer service: 4/5|Amenities: 3/5|Rooms: 3/5|Property: 3/5|Quality:...
