2-Hour Stand-Up Paddleboard lesson for husband/wife - Excellent experience! Great date activity! We went at 5pm on a Friday. We were first-timers looking to just rent to try it and then saw the lessons. VERY glad we opted for the lesson.
Kevin, the owner, taught us little techniques we wouldn't have figured out in one session, maybe never on our own. He also gave person-specific tips based on how we were each experiencing the board.
Having never done it, I expected we would both be falling in the water a lot. Neither one of us fell in the water a single time. (Though we got in the water on purpose, to learn to get out/up on the board.) Made me realize, once you know how, you could actually do this activity without a bathing suit, if desired.
The location/setting is excellent! Calm water, low traffic, interesting path to follow, through the canal, and seeing the buildings and people on shore. We passed people taking wedding photos. Versus a lake that might have waves or wake and maybe no place in particular to go to give you a goal.
We liked it so much, we are now interested in buying inflatables and afterward, even though they were closing, the owner took the time to make recommendations on what features to consider and some companies to look at. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
And there is free parking right there! Thought we might be in a parking garage hundreds...

We made a reservation to do one of the swan rides, only to find out we had shown up an hour late (we obviously misread our reservation info). Upon inquiring if it was possible to reschedule or get a refund, the person there, a nice young man, told us we would need to speak to the owner. I left a voicemail explaining what had happened, but all we received was an email saying that the swan sat there for an hour, so it could not be rented for an hour and so we would need to make a new reservation. While it is true that $60 are not going to drastically change our financial future in life, I believe that people who truly care for their customers usually try to help them. Again, we were the ones who made the mistake, not them, but we did not cause them a major loss because of that. Very poor company philosophy. I told him the website said otherwise. He said that day was different. I said okay and we decided to just walk around. What do you know, we watched him allow two other groups rent the boats after denying us.
We are black and the other families were Hispanic and white. So I guess they donāt allow black people to use their boats after 4:30 pm on Sundays lol
UPDATE: Based on the owners response, hopefully you see the issue. How could I be held accountable for anything when I checked the website before coming and there was NOTHING there about them closing early? As a matter of fact, they were still accepting reservations. Yet our business was turned away and the only difference was skin color. Do NOT patronize this clearly racist...
