I'd highly suggest you don't stay at this hotel. I've traveled a ton over the years for business and pleasure. From various countries to countless states, I've stayed in both great and so so hotels. This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. It turns out the feeling was mutual from many of my friends that were also staying there for a convention we were at.
The bathroom shelf where the hair dryer and extra toilet paper rolls are kept had powder on it. What would you think white powder on the counter is? For that reason I wasn't going to touch it. Totally not cleaned or dusted. The toilet paper on the roll had very little left so they didn't change it since the last person used it. The shower had hair on the wall which showed me that wasn't cleaned either. When I took a shower and went to dry off the first towel had what appeared to be a human waste stain on it and the next one had makeup. It looks like the towels weren't cleaned and just folded up again.
I went down to talk to the front desk staff who seemed like I was bothering them rather than caring about the disgusting situation. That made me think it happens often there. They agreed to take one night off my bill for the trouble. They said to stay down in the lobby and they'd get it taken care of right away. I needed to get going to the convention I was attending so after an hour I went back up to grab my stuff. There was no housekeeping staff working on my room. I sat in the lobby for an hour for nothing. It was still a mess.
I went to the convention, got back hours later and found a little gift bag with a bottle of water, a little breakfast bar and chocolate kisses along with a card from the staff saying how sorry they were and that my room was now clean for me. My room was just how I left it. Nothing was clean. My bed wasn't made, the hairs were still on the shower wall, the stained towels were still there and the powered was still on the counter.
I called down to the front desk and they said I had to leave my room again so they could send someone up to clean it. I wanted to get a quick nap in before I headed out for a party with friends, but couldn't because they kicked me out of my room yet again to clean. Why put a card and gift saying it was clean and they knew it wasn't?
I'm an easygoing person and this was the first time I've ever complained to a hotel manger. Now I'm even more upset because they didn't clean it after making me stay out of my room. I paid for a room and needed / wanted to use it.
So instead of getting a much needed nap in I stay down in the lobby and then head out to the convention party. I get back a few hours later. My bed was made, I had new towels and what else did I find? Hair was still on the shower walls and the powder was still on the counter. I called the front desk again and they sent someone up along with the housekeeper to check it out. Now for the third time I'm asked to leave my room and sit out in the lobby.
After being asked to leave my room three times the room was finally clean. If I brought a black light with me who knows what I would have seen on the bed, floors, walls, etc.
I tried to get in touch with the manager over the phone a few times, but she was always busy. The elderly man that is the front desk manager in the evenings talked with me once over the phone and was laughing as I told him what happened. Laughing at a hotel guest that had issues with their room? He said they will not do anything else for me as far as a room comp or money off and they'd be happy to cancel my remaining nights and I could stay someplace else. ??? Now I'm the bad guy?
I was given a free night because of the dirty towels, the white powder on the counter and the hair on the shower wall. That was one incident and then having to leave my room and deal with it two more times, I'm told the best they can do to make it up to me is to have me leave and try to book someplace else? The owner really needs to get better staff at the desk there. Others at the came convention also had issues there....
Read moreI seldom leave bad reviews, so when I do, take note.
Had to stay here after dealing with the Crowdstrike outage that delayed our flights overnight. We received a comp from our airline that was to put us up in this '3-star' hotel overnight free. Tried calling them dozens of times during our delay to confirm our stay and ask about services at the hotel. No one ever answered, the line rang all night long. We finally touched down in DFW and got an Uber to the hotel. Upon check we were the only people there and told to hang on while the person at the desk did something else. Maybe five minutes later we were 'helped' and asked for a card on file for incidentals. I turned in my flight voucher and they confirmed it was paid for. Then we proceeded to the basement level (negative floors in an elevator?) That was a bit sketch. Not to mention the giant roaches hanging out by the ice machine. Yay. Now I didn't expect a Ritz, but for a 3-star hotel, this place is in shambles. The hot water was lukewarm at best, and I tried not to think of the moldy AC, walls, and bathroom, given how little time we would have to spend here. Just one night. In the morning we checked out and turned in our keys to ensure we were fully checked out. A week later I noticed a charge for 1-night on our card that had posted! I called the hotel to dispute and was told I was wrong, that it was 'pending' - as if I didn't know how credit card authorizations work. I told the person they were wrong, because my card had indeed posted the transaction and it was on my statement, not my pending auths. They told me their system is never wrong and I would need to take that up with my CC company. I asked to speak to the owner or someone who had access to issue a refund, since at this point the transaction had indeed posted and needed to be manually refunded by the merchant. After fighting me on it, they said they would have someone call me right back. A week later and I never heard a peep. Now I get to dispute this transaction with my credit card company and hope for the best since Holiday Inn is unwilling to assist. I recommend you AVOID this location at all costs. Heck, I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again anywhere after having such bad experience here. This sticks for the brand, and left a lasting impression for me. Hope you learn...
Read moreI was extremely pleased with my recent stay in Irving, Texas at the Las Colinas Holiday Inn. Each customer facing staff Member was extremely courteous, polite, and interactive. After 12 hours of airline travel stress trying to get to Arlington, I was met with staff member Danielle’s infectious smile at the front desk.
I was greeted by name along with being recognized for being diamond elite, which is rare at many IHG properties. I was offered a snack as well bottled water.
My room met all of my needs and I was pleasantly surprised with how cold and efficient the air conditioner kept the room even with it being near 100° outside. The TV and channel selection was perfect. It allowed me to find The local stations for local news while also offering premium movie channels, which I also thoroughly enjoyed!
I was extremely impressed and appreciative of the hotels bar/food service . Both my breakfasts and my evening meals throughout the week met all of my dietary needs. While I don’t recall the name of my bartender, I will tell you that she was absolutely amazing. Such a joy to talk to while unwinding after a long day of work. She was spot on with recommendations for the appetizers she chose for me. Not just the taste, but the serving size also aligned with the cost. She offered amazing customer service making sure you had some snack mix and something to drink until your food arrived.
Lastly, the location of this hotel is in a very nice, clean, quiet area. It is conveniently located near many local amenities. It also provides simple access to all major interstate and highways taking you where are you need to go including the Dallas Fort Worth Airport.
This will be the new place for me to stay when I return to our plant in Arlington Texas. while I recognize I have many hotel choices with many of them being much closer I’d much rather stay here, knowing all of my expectations are met and all of my boxes are being checked.
Thank you so much Las Colinas for...
