The nice owner asked us to leave a review, so here it is; Firstly I would like to say that it probably is not a good idea to pitch your advertisement spiel more than once to customers. The first time is fine and informative but any time after that can become annoying and repetitive. Also when talking up your restaurant, itâs best not to put the others down. Even if you are a âsandwich snobâ you are all trying to make a living doing the same thing. It is understandably a competition but itâs best also not to directly mention and call out other more well known chains. It specifically puts that restaurant in someoneâs head and they canât help but directly compare, and Iâll be honest, this sandwich place was good but it was not better than great outdoors or jimmy johns as the owner bragged it was.
Secondly, if you want to compare yourself to those specific sandwich restaurants then itâs best to probably start with getting that persons order correct first and foremost. I asked for no onions or mayonnaise on my sandwich during a slow day and those things were still on there. Normally I would look the other way on small things like this, but I couldnât help but be vastly disappointed from the moment I opened my sandwich to learn that the order was wrong after the owner talked up the sandwiches so much and directly compared them to one of my favorite chains.
The redeeming factor would definitely be the sauce. The sauces here are really good and well made. I personally donât think itâs a good idea to sell 99 different sauces. That seems like a lot more trouble than it is worth. I personally think itâs best to pick your top 20 and really market and sell those, but to be fair I havenât seen the numbers from the income so this is strictly my personal opinion.
Lastly, the sandwiches were okay and the restaurant was clean. Again, the fact that these sandwiches were talked up SO much and even directly compared to a popular chain put that idea in my head, and I was left very disappointed because of it. The bread was too much, and even tasted a bit stale. The proportions are pretty off as well. There was not enough turkey, a little too much cheese (and trust me I love cheese) , and way too much bread, and I could count on my one hand the amount of black olives put in the sandwich that I asked for. Something about the proportions really threw me off. Other chains have done a much better job getting the portions correct in regards to ratio.
Sorry to sound harsh, but please donât compare yourself to, and call out specific chains unless youâre really as good as you say you are. And Iâm sorry to inform you that I do not share that opinion.
Overall the sauces were really good, however the sandwiches are sub par. If youâre hungry and looking for a decent sandwich. This is your place to go but I wouldnât go out of my way...
Read moreFirst of all, this place is easy to miss. It looks like a parking garage (because one sits on top of it, I guess), but there are store fronts visible from the street. Beware of the "no parking" signs. If you're unsure or can't find a place to park, they told me they will validate if you park in the garage.
Ok, on to the actual restaurant.
CHOICES: They have tons of choices; cold and hot subs and sandwiches, salads, chips. Tons of kinds of chips, too. And they have a soda fountain as well as a fridge with bottled drinks, water, teas, etc. Oh, and if you like sauces, they have like TONS of hot sauces and spices and stuff lining the windowsills.
FOOD: So here's where it gets tricky for me. I'm a vegetarian. So finding good food I can eat is hard. Sometimes impossible. There are several things on the menu I can eat with no questions asked. Probably tons more if I say, leave off the ham, or whatever. I ended up trying something new (an oddity for me), I tried the thing called the Veggie, which is basically a veggie sub with cream cheese instead of... sliced cheese. It was different, but GOOD! It had several flavors that went very well together. And the bread was excellent; very fresh, not stale, not under-cooked, like other places. I am going to be going back there to try their other veggie options soon.
SERVICE: AMAZING! Nothing but smiles, and I mean not the fake smiles you get because the boss is watching. The lady at the counter was very friendly. She saw me looking at the billboard and offered a paper menu. She answered my questions about the ambiguous "No parking on other side of sign" signs, and offered that I should park in the garage if I'm having trouble. After I ordered and she was helping someone else, I found a tea in the fridge I liked and bought it separate. It was a dollar nine, but I didn't have any change on me, so she let me have it for a buck. When picking up my sandwich, I mentioned that it was the online reviews that brought me here, and she and the man who made my sandwich just lit up like a Christmas tree, they were so happy.
Long story short, they have made a long-term customer out of me. Give them a try. At least as good as JJ's or Subway, but the options are vastly superior, as is...
Read moreOkay guys, I debated for over a year about whether or not to write a review on here. I usually do not write reviews, EVER! The first several times my husband and I visited this place we loved it. The owner seemed passionate, if not a bit over zealous in his presentation and the food was great. We returned often as did our friends and local family. Each time family came to town we were sure to take them here...but then we started to see the true colors of the owner himself. I had seen reviews claiming he had been rude to people, but I ignored them...until slowly but surely, each one of us had at least one, if not several rude encounters with the owner. One time my sister in law called in an order and my husband (who the owner knows pretty well) picked it up. He had been extremely rude to my sister in law and when he saw mu husband he said "oh I didn't recognize your wife's voice." Oh so you pick and choose who to be rude too? If it was me it would have been different? Unfortunately I had experiences where he was very rude to me over the phone as well. One of our good friends went in for a sandwich at about 2pm with his wife. Two people. There were maybe two or three people in line. Not terribly busy. When my friend attempted to place his order, the owner rudely told him he should have called in the order! Who calls in an order for two people in the middle of the week outside of a lunch rush? It has only ever been the owner that is rude. His employees are stellar and have great customer service. We all debated so long about whether or not to continue supporting this man's business. We all wanted to avoid going there, but made excuses for a long time to keep returning. My husband recently had a bad enough experience (which he was so upset he refused to talk about, but told me to write the review), that he said he will never eat there again. My sister in law and her husband have made the same choice, as have my friend and his family. It is such a terrible, sad thing that such talent is wasted on a man who can be so rude. It is clear that his business has grown beyond what he can handle. And it is also clear that he needs to take a course in how we do customer service in...
